“Large brewpub in a very old building next to the Dom, with a modern part attached to it. Lots of space inside and out. Good food, three beers that are decent to quite good. They also run a distillery. Hotel rooms available.“

“Visitet this place in september 2011. A very modern and different brewpub, 10 years old when we visited it. Located just next to the cathedral, and the preest theme is very used in the brewpub, also in the names og the beers. Very friendly staff, and a place where you feel more welcome the longer you stay. We had 3 of their beers, very fresh and well conditioned. Good food ( we had breakfast). If you enter the brewpub from the cathedral you come through the old rectory. The brewpub have 2 beers gardens as well. Really a place you should visit!!!“

“Spent a couple afternoons here drinking their 3 beers. A short walk (stumble) from the Holiday Inn Zwickau, and right in the middle of all the shopping and marketsquare. Lots of restaurants nearby if you don’t want to eat here. But this place was busy. I had a schnitzel with fresh white asparagus that was pretty good. The beers were all solid. Also, try the blueberry (heidelbeer) liquer. Nice. I bought a bottle down the street to take home with me.“

“Interesting place in central Zwickau, deceivingly huge. Lots of rooms with slightly different atmospheres; mine was more like a cafeteria with lots of seniors, though I did see some youngsters enter before me. They can probably seat 300-400 inside comfortably, not including at the bar, and there’s plenty of room in the Biergarten in the shadow of the cathedral. Menu is excellent for hearty fare and every day is a themed day: Haxentag, Schnitzeltag, etc. . They even derive a decent bread from the brewing process (pomace bread is the English, I think), though the Schmalz is what made it all work. House beer is forgettable, though they do know their stuff - give tours and lessons on the art of brewing, even make their own spirits in addition to the beer. They have rooms for rent in what they style as the oldest house in Saxony.“
