“Big exposed brick restaurant/brewery with a large gift shop in front. Our server was a 10+, he kept bringing us beers that hadn't officially been released yet. I wish I could remember his name. Most of their taproom beers you can find at local stores, but they had a few exclusives. Nice place, you can't do any better in the area.“

“Went with a large group a few weeks ago. Nothing on tap that isn’t widely available in bottles, which was disappointing. Food was good but restaurant service was unpleasant. Tour was excellent. It was informational and was interesting in that it talked more about intricacies of the process and how Two Brothers operates than "how beer is made". I appreciated that.“

“Nice selection of their own beers. Not especially found of most of the year round brews (not my preference of styles) but the seasonal’s and one offs can be outstanding. Food is good, plentiful and affordable. I make it a point to stop in for a couple and a growler to go every other month or so. Good place to take the family for a meal and a few tasty beers.“

“Don’t let the outside appearance fool you. Awesome place to have local craft brew, eat organic food, and get an up close brewery tour (which includes free beer samples). Try the Domaine DuPage and Northwind Stout. Tap House burger and pulled pork are some favorites food-wise.“

“Despite some earlier reviews that I read the food was much better than expected and quite reasonably priced. Actually it was quite good food. The strong aroma from the homebrew store wafts into the restaurant a little too strongly. The overall vibe of the place was pretty cool and a decent crowd despite being hard to find. However, this is going to be the tap house of a decent sized craft brewery the tap selection was weak and so I was expecting them to have a least a couple of taps of beers you couldn’t easily find on the shelves of liquor stores. Just the regular beers and a couple seasonals, No one offs on tap and no hard to find bottles.“

“The beer is great. Don’t go for the food, it is slightly better than average....edible, but the beer was great. Brought home 2 growlers of the Fire Chief Ale. It’s a brilliant red with no bite. Beautiful!“

“Visited in October 2010.

My opinion of Two Brothers has gone up and down a few times over the years. First I tried Cane and Ebel in 2007 or 2008 and I loved it. Then I tried a few more from the bottle and one or two on tap and I didnt care for them. Then I visited the brewery and the beers were better at the source.

The brewery is in an industrial part of town. It was interesting that there seemed to be a city council meeting of some sort going on at the time I was there. Lots of suits discussing zoning and then voting on something. Kind of odd.

Food looked good but I didnt eat, just a flight and then a glass of their IPA and then headed out. Nice place over all but I’m still undecided on the beers.“

“Visited October 2010.

Happened to be there during trivia night. Kind of let down by the fact that their house malt liquor had just run out before I got there. Got a burger and it was pretty good, as their food usually is. Beers weren’t bad either. For a Rock Bottom location it’s alright. Might return for the malt liquor.“

“Two Brothers has as simple of a brewery tour as you’ll find. During your stroll through its modern, converted warehouse, you’ll see top-of-the-line brewing equipment and get a (pleasant) sense of manifest destiny that Two Brothers will rule the suburban Chicago brewing world. You DEFINITELY want to eat lunch before the tour and specifically say when asking for a table that you want to take the tour. You can then eat lunch, have your table saved for you while taking the tour, and return to your table with your free samples (10 choices were available when we visited) all neatly poured and labeled. Food is consistently good and a notch above typical pub grub. Lunch and a tour are a great way to spend a few hours on a Saturday afternoon.“

“Place has drawbacks but food is not one of them. Tap house burger rocks, loaded fries, rock, pulled pork, so good. I have never had a bad entree or appetizer there. For brewpub stuff, above average. I agree with other posters, I like two brother’s beer so I don’t mind the standards but there is not a lot of "special" beers available usually. Still a fine place to go.“

“Did not have a good experience here. There beers are generally good, but the service was not. I ordered one of their sours and when I smelled it and then tasted it I knew it was Cane and Ebel, which is a good beer, but not what I ordered. When I went back to the bar and told the bartender he had poured me the wrong beer he told me, no, he did not. I then told he I ordered their sour offering and he said that is what he had poured me. I then told him to taste it, which he did, and then realized he was wrong. He did not apologize or admit he was wrong, but simply poured the beer I ordered, took back the Cane and Ebel, and gave me my beer.“

“(Visited 11/2010): Visited Two Brothers after thinking I was lost, which is evidently a common experience for visitors. I actually visited two nights in a row because there was a private event being held at the brewery the evening of my first attempt. The brewery is located on the northwest side of Warrenville on Talbot in a seemingly residential area. There is a private lot as well as street parking. The interior is softly lit, with the bar on the left side and table seating throughout. The bar area boasts TVs and a view of brewing equipment. Two Brothers has about 10 of their beers on draught, including most of their flagship brews plus a couple less common offerings like Heavier Handed IPA, Long Haul Session and Resistance IPA. They also offer a 5 beer sampler. There are about 30 bottles on the menu too. Service in the restaurant area on a weeknight was solid. Our server was familiar with the beers and efficient. Food at Two Brothers is good. My colleague and I both enjoyed our dishes. Overall this place is worth the difficulties finding it. Recommended for any visitor to the area, and may even be worthwhile visiting from the Chicago area.“

“(Visited 11/2010): This Rock Bottom location is in the Warrenville/Naperville area on W. Diehl Rd, right off I-88. There is ample parking available. The inside is pretty spacious, with the bar area on the left side which offers a view to the brewing equipment. The rest of the brewpub is devoted to table seating. A lot of the decor features their house ales. As with other Rock Bottom locations, this one has their own spin on styles that mimics other sites. They have around 8 beers on draught, all of which are available in a sampler. They range from Kölsch, APA, IPA, Wit to Coffee Porter Dubbel and Stout. The beers are decent for the most part with none being particular standouts. Service at the bar on a relatively busy weekday evening was pretty good. The bartender was knowledgeable about their beers and friendly. We did not have any food on this visit. You pretty much know what you are going to get at Rock Bottom which is a positive and a negative and this one is no different. Worth a visit in the area but not somewhere I would go out of my way to hit.“

“Went the day before HopJuice fest. In the back end of an industrial park, not unlike Three Floyds. Pretty tasty food, with prices as to be expected in that area. Attentive service, although service was much better at the bar than at the bar area tables. Like everyone else says, would be nice if they made small batches for the tap house, rather than just serving what you can get anywhere. Will be interesting to see if that changes somewhat when the Roundhouse location opens up. Other than that, was a nice place to have a (presumably) fresh beer.“

“This review is going to stick to the quality of the experience of the brew pub food and atmosphere and the brewery tour. A place thats a little hard to find but just follow the directions on their website and you’ll find it easily. Hard to find the actual entrance though. A pretty nice brewpub, wharehous feel. The food was really good, recommend most things there. The beer selection on taps sucks as its just their year round beers, which suck, and only 2 seasonals of their. If you are a prebub have some unique stuff brothers. Bottle selection is varied and nice. The tour is pretty good, its free takes about 45 minutes and you get 3 free samples at the end. The problem is its heavy on backstory of the brothers, which was mildly fascinating and short on actual brewing. The brewery is really nice, you can tell these guys have some money. Its worth a Saturday afternoon trip to eat lunch then go on the tour. Do not go to drink good beer as there is very little of that there, and its lack the creativity of one offs and special brews that most brew pubs have.“

“An excellent place to go for a meal or drink. Ambiance is nothing fancy. Beer selection is excellent. They always have one of their beers cask conditioned on the weekend. In addition to their usual lineup there is an excellent bottle selection representing not only other domestic craft brews but heavy on the Belgians. The food is always excellent from the bar food to the specials that Chef Tommy makes. Highly recommended.“

“As with all Rock Bottoms I’ve been to, the food is solid. Since I joined the mug club here. the perks have gone way down. THAT IS NOT A PROBLEM CAUSED BY THEM, BUT ORIGINATES AT THE CORPORATE LEVEL. The brewer has changed twice since then and due to corporate rules on mug club events its harder to get to know Davin. He’s beer is great but I miss Lumpy Dog which was always my "go-to" beer when the seasonals were a style that I didn’t care for. I vastly prefer the ambiance and service here to that of Yorktown.“

“This is easily the biggest let down of a "brewpub" I’ve ever been to. Mostly because it was nothing more than a place to peddle their normal beers. I don’t get the impression that they do any experimental batches here, which is a shame. It really is a beautiful brewery, but such a letdown...“

“Probably my least favorite incarnation of Rock Bottom. It feels very suburban and the beer isn’t up to par with the others (at least it wasn’t, though now Davin is out there). That being said, they do have about a dozen different options and I’ll keep on trying them as I get a chance.“

“My first visit was on March 29, 2008 and it was NOT the last! I just wish this place was closer to my house. The Taphouse is tucked away in light industrial neighborhood. The most confusing part is that they do not have a sign on the building and it looks like a warehouse. So getting to the important point. The beer is excellent! Some of my favorites: Bitter End American Pale Ale, Cane & Ebel Red Rye Ale, Northwind Imperial Stout, Resistance IPA, Long Haul Ale The last two are from the foudre (french oak vat) that Two Brothers obtained last year. These are very unique beers. The beer is served at a good temperature. It is not too cold like you find at some of the chain brewpubs. If you like portable, they do have growlers so you can take some of their beer with you. The Taphouse also stocks a pretty wide selection of bottled craft brews. I prefer my beer from the tap if I can get it, so I have never tried any of their bottles. Food The food menu is limited, but it contains the pub grub basics. They have made an effort to serve organic ingredients in several items. You can get an organic beef hamburger! I did and it was very tasty. I also love that they have sweet potato fries. The few things that I have tried have been good, but I tend to think of this place for beer rather than food. We like to sit at the bar at this place because the rest of restaurant feels a little sterile and industrial. Don’t get me wrong, I am not suggesting that it should be filled with neon signs and TV screens, because I hate those places. I just think it needs a little more coziness. The bartenders at the Taphouse tend to be a little surly. They are helpful, but their personalities are an acquired taste. Overall, I like the Two Brothers Taphouse. The beer is very good. There is enough rotation to keep me interested in coming back to try new things and even if I don’t like the new, the old favorites are there to keep me happy. I have been to this place several times and I will continue to do so.“

“May 2010 -- Visited on a late afternoon on a Thursday afternoon. The place is kinda hard to find, so get good directions -- especially since there’s no signage whatsoever to indicate you’ve successfully arrived. Once we found it, we enjoyed it. It was virtually empty, so the service was attentive if a tad bit disinterested. I’ve been a fan of Two Brothers beers for a while, and they had all the standards on tap, plus a couple other specials. If you find yourself in the area, definitely worth a stop. Brewery #508.“

“I have been to this location over 10 times in the past few years. Over the years several brewers have come and gone. Although this is a chain, the head brewer still has a large influence on the beers. The standard beers at RB-W are pretty good. I enjoy a Lumpy Dog occasionally. The recipes for the Terminal stout and the Warrenville wheat change all the time. So while the names stay the same, you never know what you are going to get. I have had some really good ones over the years and some not so good ones. The reason that I can keep coming back is the seasonal beers. Lately they have not been as exciting or experimental as they were in the past, but I still always find something I like. As is usual for chains, the beer is served very cold, but at least the glass is not chilled. I am always forced to wait for my beer to warm up before I can truly enjoy it. The atmosphere at RB-W is pretty good for a chain brewpub. There is lots of wood and wide open spaces. It can be a little cold in this place, even in the summer. There are the requisite TV’s around the main bar, but the rest of the place does not have them. This is a good thing in my opinion. I have spent time at the main bar, the tables by the bar, the booths and the loft bar. I like the loft a lot, but I wish it were open more often. I guess the servers don’t want to deal with the stairs if they don’t have to. Service is hit or miss at this location. But I think that is because I have the experience of many visits over several years. I have had servers that were fantastic and some that were plain rude. I have not met many servers that know anything about the beer. I generally take a look at the big chalkboard menu that is very detailed in order to make my choices. I wish they would put detailed menus on the tables. The food at Rock Bottom is fair, but nothing to rave about. It is a little on the expensive side too. I have a few items that I go back to over and over. The salmon fish and chips is a nice twist on a pub standard. I also like to enjoy Rock Bottom’s standard giant piece of carrot cake with a mug of stout occasionally. Overall, I like RB-W enough to keep coming back. The beer variety is good and it is fairly close to my house.“

“I’ve only been here once, but it was a pretty decent place. The ambiance was fine, but nothing special. Cool bar, tables and booths strewn here and there and pretty busy around dinner time. The service was good, the manager even came out to tell us what special food they had that night that wasn’t on any of the menus... he knew my brother was a regular, though, so props to us. The selection wasn’t bad, but basically their stuff, which is pretty good beer. The food was all pretty good... my sandwich was very good, and it’s one of a few places these days you can find a good muffaletta. Prices are average to slightly high, but overall this is a cool place to hang out and get some darn good food with some pretty good beers.“

“Totally non descript corporate factory like appearance from the outside. I didn’t even see a sign, the beer truck gave it away. Different "regular" looking customers kept coming in to pick up cases of beer. Good selection. Ambiance was ok, definitely not bad at all. I had the fish tacos which were very good. Service was excellent. I will definitely stop back in on trips to and from Chicago, as it has easy access to I-88. A good place to stop when travelling into or out of the city from the west.“

“Was there before and after the brewery tour. Thought three small samples after the tour was a little weak but something is better than nothing. Didn’t have anything to eat. Everyone was very nice and the place was clean. Had everything on draft that they had in bottles with nothing new. The best thing I like about these kind of places being connected to the breweries is that they sell some off stuff that they do not bottle or you can’t find anywhere else and since they have opened I believe they had one beer-American Bitter and that was it. I can go to any bar and pay $4 for a pint of their beer so nothing really draws me back until they start offering more one offs. The bottle selection seemed decent.“

“Stopped in for a pint and a snack on our way to Chicago. It’s a few miles north of I88. Their tap selection was pretty much what they offer in bottles with the exception of an American Bitter, which I had. Not a bad beer. The tap room itself was nice enough. Sports bar-ish feel. “Four white walls in a warehouse district does not make this a date destination. But this should come around. Decent beer selection - to the point that if you do not like 2Bs beer, they give you plenty of beer by the bottle options. Service is strong - the GM comes by every time we are there to check in on our satisfaction level. Food is pretty plain, but the smoked pulled pork is excellent - other stuff just average, maybe a little bland. I love having this place in the Far West Burbs, as it can be both a superior brewpub, and a decent beer bar.“

“Like 3Floyd’s in an industrial park, accessed from a Calumet Avenue. Place is still undergoing shakedown, as they STILL have no signs. Inside is kind of like many bars quickly set up inside a generic steel building. But yep, all current 2Bros on tap, plenty of interesting guest bottles. I just stopped by to drop a homebrew contest entry and check the place out: late afternoon crowd was a few beer geeks and some fellow industrial park workers who were glad to find this place in their midst. Bar servers well prepared to scratch your beer itch. It will be a while before I can return to try out the food, but I will indeed be back.“

“NOTE: The RateBeer map as of 3/08 is WRONG. The place is on Claumet Ave. West access it from Talbot Ave., a couple blocks west of Rt. 59. Top it off with absolutely ZERO SIGNAGE. If you’re lucky, their trucks will be parked on the dock. (beermapping.com has it right if you want the map.) That out of the way, this place is great. The house beers are far better than their bottled selves, and food is primo pub grub. I had an awesome pulled pork sandwich, my wife a very solid cheeseburger. Nice kids’ menu as well. Service was greatvery attentive despite a group of 25 or so showing up sans reservations. Excellent guest bottles. Very much worth going out of your way for.“

“Dark cozy feeling ambiance. Brewing equip not as prevalent, 16bbl serving vessels enclosed behind bar. Same respectable RBb food. Nice atmosphere if you aren’t insulted by suburbanites like some appear to be. The brewer Griffin Ford is a real nice guy and has been putting out some really good stuff lately, though the tastes of the local crowed tend to limit his ability to experiment too much. You can usually get one or two beers on cask as well. “

Sevice was a bit on the slow side, but was quick with the bill, as is usually the case with poor waitstaff. This will improve with time, I’m certain. “Definitely off the beaten path back in an industrial park area. Parking was ample, newly opened place was very clean, a little sterile feeling but I’m sure they’ll warm the place up as they get on their feet. Service was incredibly friendly and beer knowledgeable. Food quality is quite good and reasonably priced with some interesting touches. Nice selection of 30 or so bottles including Belgians and American Craft beers and their own beers on tap with one guest tap. “Stopped by here last night because I had a coupon for a free pint glass. Very hard to find (even worst than their last location). Actually it was quite busy despite the location. When we finally got in there we were pleasantly surprised. All of the current 2 Bros. beers were on tap, including a cask version of the Hop Juice. They had a guest tap from Ska Brewing as well. Lots of bottles from around the world, but I though it was a pretty odd selection of bottled beers overall. The beer was served in the proper glass and at the proper temp. The service was very good and attentive. I know that they just opened up, but the ambiance needs a little work. Right now it’s just too bland inside and there is nothing hanging on the walls or anything like you would expect from a tap house. The food however was very good. I was pleasantly surprised by the half pound Taphouse Burger. It was very good. The food menu is pretty basic right now, but I understand that they will be adding to it in the next couple of weeks. The crowd seemed pretty mixed, with most of the people being in their 30’s I’d say. One complaint is the hours that they are open. They close at 9 pm on weekdays and 10 pm on the weekends. I think that staying open longer (especially on the weekends), would really benefit them. All in all, I had an enjoyable trip and will return to the place when I can!“
