“Chain brewpub, went to the location by the LSU campus. Very large place, lots of table seating and also a bar. It was pretty crowded on a Sunday afternoon but we were able to get seats at the bar. They have about 100 taps, lots of local/regional stuff. Food menu is also regional- I got the etouffee which was delicious. Plenty of TVs to watch the games. A solid place to visit to try local beer and cuisine.“

“Small brewery outside Baton Rouge in a strip mall setting. A small place. There are some tables and a short bar with stools facing the tankards. A couple TVs and an assortment of games. They had 11 of their own beers on tap, plus 1 Rally Cap beer, and a few hard seltzers. Their beer list was pretty interesting - a few IPAs (mostly NE style), mild ale, alt bier, pumpkin cheesecake sour, barrel aged oyster stout, pastry stout, etc. The beers are quite solid. No food. Cozy atmosphere. A simple place to enjoy a good beer.“

“A little outside of Baton Rouge. There is indoor and outdoor seating. No food but they have food trucks. They had 10-12 taps, nice assortment of styles. They had a few IPAs, a coffee Porter, Bock, some lighter styles. Very friendly staff. Some ping pong tables and games inside. Cheap prices, most $5-7. Even one for $3! The beer was quite good, definitely worth a stop.“

“We came here on 20.7.2022. Located very close to the Mississippi and the main bridge in Baton Rouge. Brewery with a lot of open space to the right and taproom to the left. Separate room very quaintly decorated at the rear end. Large outside area. Feels very comfortable. Beers we had were also good (Porter and IPA). 11 beers on tap. Nice merchandising.“

“About 3 mi outside of Baton Rouge. An open air beer garden design - there are windows that can open or close and long tables in the main area. There is a long bar with seating and other areas for seating. They have a very extensive tap list - about 50 taps and most are locals (LA, MS, TX). Excellent selection if you are visiting from out of state. They have a food menu as well, not terribly extensive but plenty good. I had the hummus platter, which was small but delicious. The gumbo was great. They also have sandwiches and burgers. Some TVs but didn’t have the ambiance of a sports bar to me (granted it wasn’t a big sports night). Great stop in Baton Rouge.“

“As others have stated, it's in an industrial area, but most breweries are. The indoor space is pretty compact, but it has enough seating for the crowd and a cool view of the brewery, then a nice patio, but it was closed for a private event when I was there. A good selection of beer on tap, including some stuff you can only get there. Service was great, friendly, helpful, loved the beer, and actually handled the crowd well considering he was riding solo on a game day Saturday.“

“Compared to the other bars in BR, you won't beat their prices on whisky, especially on Sundays or Mondays when it's half off whisky night. Their beer selection is extensive, with international and local selections, and the bartenders will help you find your perfect drink, no fuss. The cocktail bar works diligently to make any drink from their extensive menu, and will spend the time get it right.“

“Always a big selection of quality craft beer. They always have something for everyone, no matter what taste you are partial to. Clint stays on top of it & you can tell he takes great pride in pleasing every customer that comes in. If for some reason they don’t have something you’re looking for, he’s definitely the person to ask for. Overall it’s a nice clean store with a very friendly staff and always has a multitude of craft beer options.“

“It’s one of the best beer selections in Baton Rouge, much less a suburb of BR! Besides carrying local favorites, they always have beer from microbreweries from across the country I’ve only ever seen while traveling. They keep up with seasons so there’s always something fresh and new to try. The #redbeardmanager always asks me what I’m looking for and points me in a great direction pushing my taste buds. Central is lucky they don’t have to go far for fantastic brew. They just need to double their square foot allotment and shrink the wine aisle (which isn’t shabby either!)“

“You will not find a better beer selection north of Florida Blvd in the greater Baton Rouge area. Per linear square foot, this store packs the same quality labels found at the posh specialty stores in South Baton Rouge. What they don’t have in stores Clint will go out of his way to procure. He also has good friends in distribution and throughout the craft beer scene that keep him fully up to date on the latest trends and he is always looking for suggestions to improve so you can be sure this selection will never go stale! Overall a great spot to check out that is quickly becoming a destination in the Baton Rouge beer scene!“

“Baton Rouge, LA - so we are in the deep south! Located in the industrial area. Taproom is in a bit rough-looking green brewery, but it is actually quite nice from inside. 10 own beers on tap and flights available. Also bottles and cans to takeaway. Had nice conversation with personnel. On Saturday afternoon place was quite quiet.“

“I read the reviews, and stopped by. There was a good selection, and a lot of singles, but....news flash - 2/3 of my singles are way out-of-date foam traps. I can’t speak for the 6-packs, but, avoid the singles, or maybe, just skip the place.“

“Off the beaten path. There was an outdoor party celebrating six years just concluding when we arrived on a Sunday evening. Inside, the ambiance is warm and friendly, with the brewer and bartenders all attentive to my having a good experience. There was also a fellow serving cajun food at the rear of the inside space, and he also was very forthcoming and friendly. A good selection of Tin Roof brews, most of which are very good to outstanding. We eventually stayed an hour and a half, because we were having so much fun. I like this place a lot. Worth searching out.“

“A decent sized industrial space that has a limited tasting room, no purchases to go though. Prices are cheap and beer is OK. Very traditional and nothing particularly stands out, but brewers are fun and happy to hang out. Cool guys.“

“Right outside a college, this is the epitome of college bar. Lots of youngsters primping, preening and showing off. If you are an old fart it gets tired quickly. Service was acceptable but not really beer focused. Selection was pretty good and had some unique and interesting local beers. Food was fantastic. I had the fried platter and it was very well done. Overall, worth going to, but very distracting.“

“Very likeable small brewery in Baton Rouge. They had 3 brews on taps and they were giving free samples (apparently they can’t sell any beer from the brewery) and interesting brewery tour. Cool place to visit.“

“Probably the best quality beer selection in Baton Rouge. Prices were originally a bit steep, but with recent competition, have become much more reasonable. There is usually a specialty cask brought in from a regional brewery once a month, and the staff is fairly knowledgeable.“

“Great selection of local LA beers and tons of seldom seen imports and offbeat US micros. May be the best beer store between Houston & Atlanta (sorry Steins). CJ knows his stuff-he had some Cantillon behind the counter and was nice enough let me purchase a couple of bottles from the case he was holding for his "special" customers.“

“Nice restaurant and bar right next to the LSU campus. Plenty of decent but common beers to choose from and the waitress was fairly knowledgeable. Mostly a laid back college crowd (it wasn’t a game day - could be different then) with 80s (???) music playing in the background. Not spectacular for craft beer standards but apparently above par for Louisiana.“

“Bar with a very nice tap selection with domestics and imports nicely represented. We went about 7 p.m. on a Saturday night and there were plenty of seats and the crowd was not rowdy. However, by about 9 p.m. it became a heavily college-aged crowd and was getting fairly rowdy, so we left. Had a burger that was very good, as were the waffle fries. When not busy the selection of beers makes this a great bar. However, if it is crowded, you may want to look elsewhere.“

“Small wine store just down Perkins Road from Calandros. When I went there was a nice amount of shelf space devoted to beer, but it was pretty barren and picked over. All of the beers are available in singles. Nowhere near the selection that Calandros has, at least not on the day I visited.“

“This was my only beer stop on the way through Louisiana and it had most of everything I was looking for, including a clean restroom. It was pretty busy on Saturday afternoon, as WF usually are, so it was kinda crowded in the beer/wine/prepared food area and most of the store employees seemed busy. They had all the local stuff I was looking for right on the cold shelf, including practically everything available in package from NOLA, Covington, Tin Roof and Bayou Tech (and Heiner-Brau) breweries. I also noticed some stuff from Stoudts and a few others we didn’t get in Texas. I didn’t see any Cantillon or Fantome, but I’m not sure that stuff makes it out of N.O. anyway.“

“My friend took me here when I was visiting town. The cove does a good job of keeping away people there just to drink bud or coors. You have to walk back a bit to get to the real bar The staff was very knowledgeable on their ginormous selection. When I say the selection is ginormous, it’s a bit of an understatement. They have almost 2 pages of mikellers to choose from amongst other things The beers were priced pretty well for what they are. I liked that you had to pay $4 for a bud while only paying $4.50 for a quality hefeweizen or something of that nature. They want you to have the good stuff. I enjoyed the cove a lot. I wasn’t here for too long, so maybe my rating is slightly lower than if I was able to really dig into it here. Still, impressed is the word that best describes things for me“

“Mostly college aged Bud light drinkers and smokers, as earlier reviews have mentioned. Nice decor but the rest of the atmosphere detracts from it. You’ll get your beer, eventually, as, at night, they are almost always packed. So, it’s hard to tell if they are knowledgeable. Food is good, when you are drunk. Overpriced food and drinks as well. Overall, it’s a step above most bars in Baton Rouge but between the lousy atmosphere and about half the taps being macro lagers don’t go out of your way for this one.“

“Typical restaurant/bar atmosphere, nothing to complain about here. Service is always very good either at the bar or in the restaurant area, even on gameday when they are slammed. Selection is pretty good with more quality brews here than The Bulldog with occasional gems like Saint Arnold Divine Reserve on tap. Food is average by LA standards but the hush puppies are to die for. Good prices and really an enjoyable experience so close to campus.“

“Grocery store with the beer in the back corner here too. Never had anyone help me while in the store but have called regarding selection and been helped over the phone. The beer selection has greatly expanded over the last 6 months or so making it close to the size of Calandro’s. Obscure selections available here that they don’t have as well. Really seem to be struggling to sell the good beer though because much of it sits there for a while. Not a problem for a lot of the selection as they boast a large selection of Belgian and German beers, and the discount Sierra Nevada stuff that sits for too long but I’ve seen really old Stone stuff in there. Better pricing than other store and overall my favorite place to buy beer in br.“

“This is the place to buy beer in Baton Rouge. It’s a grocery store so not much ambiance. I’ve never really had anyone offer help when I’ve been in but I know that there are knowledgeable employees present. Selection is the best in the city. Nothing too out of the ordinary but they have all the good craft that is available in LA. It can be a bit pricey though, especially on singles. Marcello’s is good and offers more beer friendly environment, but Calandro’s is the place to go.“

“Nice supermarket with a very nice beer selection. Not sure how it compares to other stores in Baton Rouge, but it has a lot of beer we don’t get in Texas. The employee in the beer section was very knowledgeable and said he could order things that were not on the shelves. Some of the beer highlights were beers from Jolly Pumpkin, Amager and Nogne O. They also had a lot of beers from Shmaltz (both Coney Island and He’Brew) as well as a few surprises from breweries such as Fort Collins and Stevens Point (had no idea they were distributed this far southeast). The store also has a full selection of spirits - root beer schnapps anyone? - as well as a huge selection of Louisiana hot sauces. A store I will definitely visit again in the future.“

“More of a strip mall feel than most Mellow Mushrooms, and I don’t think the pizza was as good as other ’Throoms. The selection of beer was OK, and the only place I’d found the new Tin Roof beers, along with a Covington beer (none of which were all that good). The service staff was completely ignorant of beer, which was somewhat comical.“
