“For being my hometown brewery, only 5 min. down the road. Every visit homes needs a stop here for a taste of the beer I love and wish they sold down in Florida!“

“Huge state of the art brewery with some of the best beer n the planet. Now that it has been open for a few years the crazy lines are more manageable but do expect to wait in line for both can purchases and on tap. Well worth the wait in either case. Love this place. Only drawback is that there is no food available.“

“First in line, so everything went very smooth! This is a really beautiful and stylish place...both inside and on the outside area with patios, koi-ponds and stuff! I could probably spend the rest of my life living in a tent on their premises. :)“

“Super busy but line mives fairly fast. Beer is great but selection is limited so you can either be very lucky or totally unlucky. The place itself is awesome.“

“Beautiful space for sure. We showed up later in the day and there was a short line for cans. A bit of Disneyland with the merch section. And unfortunately you could only get one pint in a plastic cup for onsite consumption. But how can you not stop here?“

“Went there last year after hop harvesting season. Waited in a long line to get a bunch of cans (the brewery is medium sized with a huge canning machine, but evidently they simply cannot produce at a volume that allows for much distribution... it all goes out the door!) The 4 beer varieties I bought were very good, but unfiltered hop soups. The friend I went with was unimpressed, annoyed at the lines and didn’t enjoy the beers. For trendistas and aficionados only.“

“This is a tough one to rate. Like the Trillium location in Boston, you come here to purchase beer to go. That?s it. Unlike Trillium, it?s in the middle of nowhere so parking is free and abundant. I arrived at 4 PM and there were lots of people coming an going, but no line to speak of. They had two canned beers available, including Julius. They did not appear to be filling growlers. Maybe they sold out to the early birds willing to stand in line. It was worth the visit, but I would not go way out my way to visit again.“

“As everyone knows...amazing beer. Drove 3 hours from north NJ to arrive about 2PM...they opened at 11am...yes I know I was late...but they tell me the lines were very long and I would have had to arrive before opening to get anything. So obviously all out of the cans of Julius (and only allowed 4 can purchases), bottles of Double Shot, and growler fills of Julius, Haze, and Eureka (pick 1). Now normally this would mean I was SOL...because they don’t allow consumption on premises...not even small samples...meaning if you drove an hour or two to get a growler...you’d totally have to guess which one sounded good enough to invest in. But the reason I eked out a (very) minor score is this was (purely by chance) the one day per month the town let’s them have a one day on premise drinking license...which allows you exactly one pint (not 4 flight size tasters or 2 half pints...so you could actually sample their beer and decide whether a trip back was worthwhile). So...6 hour round trip for exactly 1 pint! They would be much better served providing a far better experience for a fewer number of people each day (how about a daily lottery system...picked by random online a week before)...instead...all but a small percentage of regulars that know the drill and live closer get to benefit. I’ve done runs to Waterbury, VT for years to get Heady Topper...so I know a thing or two about dealing with large crowds early in your business life (they always helped you online with when and where to buy beer before the new...and amazing retail brewery opened earlier this year). Visit Allagash in Portland sometime...everyone gets 4 free tasters...and then the chance to buy bottles or growlers. Everyone is in and out fast...even if the line is long it moves fast. I hope they figure this out when they finish the new digs. As another reviewer said...even Hill Farmstead does a better job...and they could certainly improve a lot (I do love Julius though...lol!). It should be noted that there was a nice staff working there. Thankfully the trip and the ride home to NJ was salvaged by a stop at Black Hog (place was packed and I still got a flight of "16" from friendly staff) and the nearby amazing sour place...OEC.“

“Visited on Thursday, 5/19/2016. Drove from downtown Boston - it took about 90 minutes. Arrived at 3:30pm with the intent of getting there early - opening time was advertised to be 5:00pm. Despite that, 70 people were in front of us. Luckily, they opened up at 4:15 and got the lines moving early. Ended up getting five different types of beer, all of which were awesome. While it does suck to have to wait in line, everyone for the most part seemed pretty happy to be there. Getting growlers filled will take longer than getting cans. Overall, we were there about 2 hours, and there were 100-200 people behind us. As others have mentioned, you cannot drink on the premises. Would definitely return given the quality of the beer, but we are looking forward to the completion of the new facilities.“

“Warehouse in the middle of nowhere. Parking attendants to help guide with parking. A koi pond outside along with picnic seating for patrons. Beer cannot be opened on premises. Lines split into a can and growler line with the can moving very quickly. For the growler line expect to wait at least an hour or more. We arrived at 3:30 pm and did not leave to 5:30 pm. They’re expanding but let’s hope this means the same quality not at the expense of speed.“

“I think some would say that my rating indicates that I didn’t like the place and that probably isn’t true. The fact that it is in the middle of nowhere can be kinda cute and an adventure, I didn’t mind that. Not sure how I could rate Ambiance any higher, it is literally a place you just you herded in like cattle to make a purchase. I will give them credit for service as they have this thing down to a science and move you through rather quickly. The staff was also friendly. It would be like saying the ambiance of your local DMV is good. Then you can’t drink anything on premise, so after waiting for 45 minutes in 90 degree weather, I would have loved to crack a cold one on their benches, but can’t do that. The selection was below average as there were only 2 things available in cans and one was a limit of 5 cans. I believe there were 3 things available in growler, but only one was different than cans. Of the two beers they had I thought one was really good (Doppleganger) and one was slightly above average (Lights On). Am I glad I went - yes, would I go again - 50/50.“

“Got here at 8am on a Saturday (first in line). So good here: Incredible beer, basically it doesn’t get better. Not insanely priced either. The bad: Middle of nowhere, limited selection (only a few beers on tap, and a few cans if you’re lucky with limited allotment per person). I wasn’t even excited about going b/c of how inconvenient it seemed. But after trying the beer I’m a convert. It’s 100% worth it. It’s great beer. Unbelievably good. Do it.“

“Stopped by as a planned bit to our tour of the northeast. This one was a combination of awesome and disappointing. The ambiance inside (the short time you’re in there) is pretty cool. Everyone is laid back, but more of your time is spent outside, waiting. And waiting. We got there an hour before open and were 150 deep. The service for how packed it was was killer. The selection was disappointing. Only one can available, and 4 beers for growler fills, with a total of 3 bottles. That kind of pissed me off. The costs were relatively cheap, and once we got out, it was fine. It would be somewhere I’d go if I lived near by, but that’s about it. At least until they open the new brewpub.“

“Brasserie intéressante située dans une grange au beau milieu de nulle part. Visitée un samedi après-midi, j’avais quelques appréhension en ce qui a trait aux files d’attentes, mais il n’y avait pratiquement personne au bout de 10 minutes j’avais ce que je voulais. Service efficace et très sympathique, bière excellente et prix tout à fait raisonnable.“

“You know you are in trouble when you see a guy on the road waving cars in like it’s an airport runway. Once I found parking (I rented a car from Boston just to come up here), you get into a lineup hearing this random church bell going off ever now and then. After waiting 30-45 minutes in a lineup, during which time cans of Julius sold out, I handed in my form for growlers pours. They were calling number 80. I was 240. I waited around in the parking lot for another 2 hours, during which time alter ego on growlers kicked (why am I here again?). I realize at this point the bell that rings every now and then is from some guy at the till who yells "big tipper" every time someone tips 5%. Way to do it guys - make the people who tip you feel like they are idiots. Now is the time to point out that this rating is based purely on the place, not the beer. I feel this is warranted because in my case I was here for three hours and didn’t even have so much of a sip of their beer until I opened a growler to have a small sip of Julius at its freshest. Also, I arrived 2:30, half an hour after opening, the day after thanksgiving (a bad idea I know). Other than the terrible organization (Is it that difficult to take two seconds out of pouring growlers to send out a tray of samplers? It would go worlds to making people happy - nearly all of whom drove a long time to get here). That being said, the place is beautiful, they are doing some landscaping in the back, and the staff is friendly enough (though busy). I wouldn’t recommend this place - within a year or two the hype will die down to founders or bells level and if they’re smart they’ll quadruple production so they can at least send kegs to Boston. For me this place was much worse than Hill Farmstead, who have more respect for the people coming up for their beer. Anyway, some people go for the hype but then again I’m not the kind of person that will be happy waiting 2 hours in a downpour for 4 beers, no matter how good (see three ratings down..).“

“Visited on a Thursday night. Far out of the way from Boston, not too bad if you’re going down 84 I guess. Brewery tap room where you can get cans and growlers and try a few samples. The lines were reasonable non-existent so that was great, prices were reasonable especially for the quality of the beers which is very very high. I was in and out in like 10 minutes. Nice place.“

“It’s worth the pilgrimage. Strider IPA, Green Alter Ego, Julius, Double Shot, Eureka with Citra... all of them available to fill up some growlers. Large variety of cans (if you maxed out, you got 22). The people are so friendly and generous... Value is really sharp. Overall, these guys make some of THE BEST IPA’s in the world, get your ass over there and grab them yourself. Btw, the Haze is .......“

“Visited 10-02-15. I was blown away by how well run and organized this place was. With as crazy as it gets there the staff really do a tremendous job. We arrived 2 hours before open and there were already about 20 people before us in the constant downfall of rain. With another 100 to 150 arriving after us and lining up. Even with it being well before open, they already had people directing cars where to park. Staff came out a few times and talked to us, explained things, were very friendly, took growler order cards, and told us to hang in there and great beer was ahead. When they finally opened the doors they guided us inside in order of the line and had us form a line for the cans. Nice inviting atmosphere and space and you could see the open brewery and people at work. Service was flawless and within a few minutes we got our cans quickly and paid and then went over to wait our turn for the growlers, which orders were being lined up on the counter already. Besides the can options, they had another 6 or 7 beers on tap for a great selection (not to mention Double Shot was one of these!!!). Within 5 to 10 minutes I had my growlers, a glass, and some stickers and was able to cash out. Dean was ringing people out and has quite the personality. He was singing and drumming on the bell and really gave us all a good show and laugh and made you realize how cool of a brewery this is. The value was good to me, some would scoff at the can prices, but come on. Top tier hoppy beers, can’t get anywhere else, and super fresh. I’ll gladly pay for quality. Overall this place was perfect. Couldn’t have had a better time (although nice weather would have helped). I’d recommend this to anyone as long as you don’t mind crowds or waiting because the beer is worth it. I will say the drive isn’t the best, but that’s minor.“

“This place is a classic case of Massachusetts law making the place less good than it should be. We were fortunately in Monson, Massachusetts for other reasons, so this wasn’t a huge trek out of the way, but it would be for other people. The beer is very good. Unfortunately, the only way that you can drink the beer at the location is with the free samples. Even though they have glassware, you cannot get a full pour of the beer when you are there. When we were there, they only had three beers on tap. They were all good, and that should be obvious to all those people who would read about his place. Hopefully, these guys get the permits to allow on premises drinking. That way, the outdoor picnic tables and bucolic environment would not go to waste. The place was pretty full of people on a Saturday afternoon to fill up Growlers and pick up cans. We ended up getting 18 cans, and they were not cheap ($3 per each). If I was in the neighborhood, I would certainly go back for the beer.“

“It’s a hike, as the brewery is way out there in the country, a la Hill Farmstead. They had about 6 beers on tap of which two blew before my growlers were filled. They also ran out of cans. That being said, the staff was friendly and helpful. The beers are tasty and the lines are long.“

Comments: I can’t recommend you drive all the way here to get 2-4 growlers of beer, but I’d be lying because their beer is so ridiculously good and not on tap hardly anywhere on earth. So if you want it, you have to make the pilgrimage out here to get it. You’ll be rewarded with hilarious, loud staff; fun patrons; and some of the best beer on earth available nowhere else. The Tornado on tap was in the Top 5 APAs I’ve ever had and the Sap was in the Top 5 Beers in general I’ve ever had. Absolutely insane. Fill out a card with what beers you want and then wait for your name. A much better set up than Trillium or Hill Farmstead. “

“Small brewery on farm. Beers are only growler fills. They usually only have two on - they had a third one off when I was there. Service is excellent and they got through the big crowd faster than I expected. Value is out of this world good.“

“Stopped by there in early April during a slow afternoon with only one beer on tap. Nice little woodstove kicking some heat with the acoustic stylings of Dean strumming along to the sound of growlers being filled. Got a nice little tour of the grounds and soaked up the rustic appeal of the place ! Loved the location and the beer available and service was top notch. Only downfall was trying the beers in plastic dixie cups... if I had a glass pour I probably would have realized what a great beer Eureka Citra was and got more than two growlers of it. When I got home from the trip and popped a 750ml the next day I was kicking myself for not hoarding more into my fridge ! Great brewery and friendly staff, can’t wait to make the trip back there.“

“visited during a julius release. bad idea. go on days when special release is not offered, or may face long waits. bbq and fire trash cans were offered outside. a folk singer, warmth and crowd offered in the quaint retail shop. brewery is @ small, but my understanding is that they plan to move and/or expand to across the street. who knows. 3x beers offered, and all were pretty good. happy that two of the three were 5-6 percent hoppy pale ale brews. no full pours offered. small taster tray available.“

“A cool little brewery. The new location is a step in the right direction, but I can’t wait to see what their final set up is like. The service is pretty good, very energetic. Sometimes they only have 1 or 2 beers on tap, but their beers are solid. Worth visiting, but get there early if you don’t like waiting in lines.“
