78 /100 La Domadora Y El León, Craft Beers Store (Beer Store) CALLE ROSARICO LA JOAQUÍN, 26 Nice shop in a beautiful little town. Interesting beers for sale. A collection from Spanish microbreweries but also not your everyday Belgian beers including nice gueuze. Do visit when around. (5-2023). |
76 /100 La Domadora Y El León, Craft Beers Store (Beer Store) CALLE ROSARICO LA JOAQUÍN, 26 One of Spain's most beautiful and picturesque "white villages" is without doubt Frigliana. And in addition you find this splendid craft beer store, which certainly adds to the beauty of the place. I've visited it several times, always ending up with a rather heavy backpack. Lots of interesting and tasty Spanish micros (and some Belgian as well), but take a close look at the best before dates - some of their stock was well past bb on my last visit. Friendly service. |
92 /100 La Domadora Y El León, Craft Beers Store (Beer Store) CALLE ROSARICO LA JOAQUÍN, 26 A really good bottleshop.
The selection of Spanish and International (mostly European) craft beers is great. |
76 /100 La Domadora Y El León, Craft Beers Store (Beer Store) CALLE ROSARICO LA JOAQUÍN, 26 Visited on a Wednesday early afternoon. It’s not depicted correctly here on the map, it shows its location in Nerja, while it’s located in Frigiliana, an easy 10 minute drive from Nerja. If you check the brewery site here on RB and then click on the location-link it will take you to the right location. It’s located in a small garage in a narrow street, park a few 100 meters down the road or before entering the small street, plenty of parking space but it can be busy here, it’s a (lovely) touristic village. Nice selection of Spanish micro breweries, didn’t check for any foreign beers, for OK prices for Western Europe, but it’s about the same as I would pay for them in NL. Had a nice chat with the lady of the house, very friendly and expert service. Went back with 15 good to great beers, could’ve been many more. Recommended visit when in the neighbourhood or even further out, there’s not much in the area. |
92 /100 La Domadora Y El León, Craft Beers Store (Beer Store) CALLE ROSARICO LA JOAQUÍN, 26 It is surprising to find a brewer garage in a small town of 3,000 inhabitants with such a variety of Spanish and foreign craft beers. The staff is amazing, very knowledgeable Javier will recommend the best in the style you prefer. The atmosphere could not be more cool and fun. It’s a true craft beer garage and they have their own craft beer: La Axarca, so amazing ¡ |
82 /100 La Domadora Y El León, Craft Beers Store (Beer Store) CALLE ROSARICO LA JOAQUÍN, 26 An amazing shop to locate in Spain. Loads of beers from many of the major breweries around the world.
Local breweries from Spain are well represented. The shop also has what probably is the largest American selection I have ever seen outside the states. Cigar City, Southern Tier, Lost Abbey, Rogue, AleSmith, Flying dog, Anchor, Hoppin Frog and lots more. All beers at organized by country and breweries so it is easy to get a overview. Belgium are heavily represented by more than 50 different beers. Other country represented are Norway, Italy, Switzerland , Holland, Sweden, Poland, Scotland, England, Denmark, and Germany.
Summertime is low season since “everyone” is craving iced down lagers, so the selections is even better outside summer vacation.
Prices are fair, but I really don’t mind paying what it takes to support an amazing shop like this.
The shop owner Javier was eager to tell a story about every micro brewery in the area. He has a lot of knowledge about all the beers he sells and can tell you anything you want to know. He even has a fridge with a good selection of cold beers if you want to buy a refreshing beer while shopping.
The trip takes about 45min drive from Malaga The shop is easy to locate by gps (TomTom: “Calle Los Huertos 60” could not find “calle huertos 60” in my gps) but the streets around the shop are narrow and it can be hard to find parking at the steps but a couple hundred meters away there is a huge parking lot near the beach.
Nerja is a wonderful small city by the sea so you can easily use that as an excuse to convince your travel partner to take a trip to this shop.

76 /100 La Domadora Y El León, Craft Beers Store (Beer Store) CALLE ROSARICO LA JOAQUÍN, 26 A great selection of Spanish micros and great beers from Europe and around the World. The imported stuff like Mikkeller, Nogne, 8 Wired is around the same price as you would find in other places in Europe. The Spanish micros are quite expensive around €2.90 per bottle but several of them are very good and worth it. Service is excellent. Javier can tell you the background to all the Spanish micros and is a nice chap to talk with in general. Not just a shop, you can sit down and have a beer from the fridge if you wish. |
90 /100 La Domadora Y El León, Craft Beers Store (Beer Store) CALLE ROSARICO LA JOAQUÍN, 26 I had gone for a week in the sun without any expectation of anything other than an iced to death San Miguel in a beach bar. So I was delighted when I randomly stumbled across this great little craft beer store away from the tourist hustle and bustle in Nerja.
The selection was excellent, including some I had never seen before in the flesh, the service friendly and the price extremely reasonable. There was also a great selection of local micro brews which I would have loved to work my way through but sadly I only found the store on the last day of our holidays. Be sure and look it up as soon as you arrive! |
92 /100 La Domadora Y El León, Craft Beers Store (Beer Store) CALLE ROSARICO LA JOAQUÍN, 26 This shop is just what Nerja needs. Until now the only beer available has been the usual mass produced lager, tasteless and unidentifiable. La domadora y el leon has only just opened and has a great stock of beers from around the world, many that I have never seen before. There is a beer of the week that you can sample for free whilst chatting to the friendly and knowledgeable owner. Give it your support, Nerja needs it! |
