“Elephant juice is the best hazy IPA in the state so easy visit. Good crowd on a Saturday PM. Had 5oz pours of seven beers- the lighter beers- lagers and kolsch were solid, and of course the Juice. Good stop and around the block is another brewery.“

“Stopped in on a beautiful late June evening sat outside as dusk fell listening to a blues rock trio and drinking draft beers. They had long picnic tables outside, order beers at the bar. Had 5 of their beers on draft the wheat and kolsch were very nice, helles solid, they had about 6 guest drafts of high quality. Fantastic selection of cans and bottles in the cooler. One of the better German style brewers in Michigan I’ve seen, best in metro Detroit. Thye had a nice German food truck so also were able to grab food-“

“Came here on 24.2.2022. A beer bar in the center of Detroit. U-shaped bar with at least 40 beers on tap. Furniture is a bit outdated. I had a Bell’s Two Hearted Ale and a Chicken Burger both were absolutely ok.“

“Came here on 24.2.2022. A few miles outside of Detroit city center. This quite new brewery is specialized in Belgium beers. I had a Raspberry Saison and a Dubbel, both quite good and served in proper glassware. Liked the modern and industrial style and the visible brewhouse. Service was not very attentive but everything else was quite good.“

“Came here on 24.2.2022. Very close to Batch Brewing. Beers were nice but unfortunately served in plastic cups. The place seems to be a bit disorganized and rough, which fits to Detroit downtown.“

“When I came here on 24.2.2022 the brewery was closed due to renovation. Nevertheless they let me in. Had a very beer knowledgeable conversation with Steve the owner. The Pilsner I had was outstanding. They gave me a Belgium beer and a few lager cans as a gift. Super nice people! Looking forward when I am back soon.“

“Came here on 6.10.2021. Located around the corner of East Market brewing in a great old building. Specialized in German/Austrian beers. Really liked the Oktoberfest. Also some guest beers on tap and a good can/bottle selection. Unbelievable they had 3 Austrian Radlers in the fridge. Service was super nice and introduced me to local beer guys. Great beer knowledge and spirit in this place. Will come back!!“

“Came here on 6.10.2021. Located in the farmers market area of Detroit. Great urban vibe: old market halls with lot of graffitis. Brewpub is inside of a redbrick building with the open brewhouse to your left. Was sitting outside at the street. Roughly 10 beers on tap but no food available (you can order or buy from other places though). Only downside beers were served in plastic cups.“

“Came here on 24.6.2021. Quite new very positive addition to the Detroit airport - not far away from the LH gate. Always have liked the other Jolly Pumpkin locations in Detroit. You finally can drink sour beers on the North Terminal. Had a good Farmhouse Ale. 8 beers on tap - 4 from Jolly and 4 from North Peak. Really happy this place opened!“

“I came here on 24.6.2021. Definitely an above average Airport beer bar although it is Coors. 18 beers on tap including 3 guest taps. One of them was a Pilsner Urquell. I tried the IPA Atwater, which was not terrible and I had a Saugatuck Brewing Company Peanut Butter Porter. Burger was too salty.“

“Came here on 23.6.2021. Second Jolly Jumper place I am visiting in Detroit. They also serve beers from North Peak brewing company (same owners, brewery is in Dearborn, Jolly Jumper is the brand for Wild beers). Very nicely decorated beer bar with high ceilings and small patio outside. A very professional place with friendly service.“

“Came here on 23.6.2021. Small brewpub in a nice area of Detroit with many other restaurants close by. 8 beers on tap. Had the IPA out of a plastic cup (due to Covid), which was not good and I did not finish. Very friendly service though.“

“Directly across the street from Jolly Pumpkin and that's the only reason I visited. Small, intimate place with 8-10 beers on. Flights or small pours available at $2/pour (after tax). Service was extremely endearing. Beer quality was night -- wasn't enamored with anything on. Not worth a stop with so many other good places in town.“

“Cool spot, right across the street from Motor City Brewing Works, and very close to Founder's. Prettily designed, with plenty of bar seating. Half of the beers are JP's, the other half by North Peak. Small pours available of everything, with some being higher than $4 -- that seems high. Super-friendly service. All in all, I preferred JP's location in Royal Oak, but this had that grungier feel to match the Detroit vibe. Worth a visit.“

“About 15 minutes walking from Slow's BBQ, this is a cool little spot. Over a dozen taps, with flights / small pours available, charged by the beer (usually $2-3). Beer quality was not very good, with many beers just not dialled in properly. With the many good breweries that Detroit has to offer, this isn't worth a stop if your time is limited.“

“Elegant interior to this place with many separate areas of seating, including plenty of bar seating. Extensive, well-curated taplist, but: no flights or small pours! C'mon -- if you're going to showcase this many cool beers, you gotta have a tasting option. At least the bartender was happy to offer tastes. Not a ticker-friendly place, but it might be worth checking out depending on your priorities.“

“Came here on 23.2.2020. A BBQ place not far away from Detroit downtown. A restaurant area, an outside patio and a U-shaped bar. Liked the interior: red brick walls with wooden panels and a copper bar. Around 40 beers on tap. Some Belgium beers, a few Michigan IPA’s and even Riegele Helles from Germany. All beers are priced between 6 $ and 7 $. The Pulled Pork was decent and the service just ok. Not a bad place but was surprised that is the highest rated beer place in Detroit.“

“Brand new brewery but by the Beltline Corridor. Clean open feeling with a bar in the back and plenty of seating. Bartenders knew the beer pretty well. Small pours available and 8 beers on tap when I visited. They had waffles in house when I visited. Prices were quiet competitive. Has potential!“

“Visited after dinner on a Tuesday. Located between gate d20 and d19. Appears to be fairly new, nice open design with plenty of bar space. Pretty traditional airport setup in terms of food menu. Beer selection is 9 Atwater beers available as a 4 oz taster or a full pour. (Just ok) I only use the total score, not the component parts.“

“A good sized bar with an upstairs that is diner/dive sheek. Service was friendly but really when it gets busy service declines. Upstairs says you can have the full menu, but complains when you actually ask. Small pours and tastes are fine but no flights. Huge and wonderful selection, but impossible to tick well.“

“In a very gentrified area, this spot is nice and open but not as cozy as the other locations. More of a cafeteria feel with walk up service, it is a bit impersonal. Beer list was expansive and flights available. Only issue is it is a bit prices, some samples $4.“

“A cool little spot on a small street off the eastern market. Warm feeling inside with picnic style seating and a small bar in the back. Serves were friendly and had good recommendations. They had 12 beers on tap with samplers available. Cans also available to go. No food on site but they appear to often have food trucks. Prices were fair. A nice spot to have a beer.“

“Visited around lunch time during week in June of 2018. Crowded at that time but we found a stand to sit. Many taps, with many locals but not too many new beers for me (a Greek guy visiting Detroit). I dont know about bottles. Good service, nice ambiance, the food was good too (pulled pork sandwich).“

“Visited on a Friday evening for dinner and drinks. The place is located in downtown Detroit. Some metered parking is available. The part of town it is in is really nice. Walkable and friendly area of town. Service here is kind of strange. You walk into a line that you order at. All orders are done at the cash register, so if you decide you want a second beer, you order at the cash register, then go to the bar to pick it up. If you buy a bottle, they can give it to you at the register, but to get a glass, you have to go to the bar. Perhaps if we were sitting at the bar, we could have ordered there, but it was already full when we arrived. All of us ordered the lamb burger, and everybody loved it. I also ordered truffle fries, and they too were great. The food and beer here are both phenomenal, and priced somewhat reasonably. The Jolly Pumpkin beers are on the higher side price wise, but that is just how it is. They are worth it. I would definitely come back again. I would like to have tried more beers, but since flights weren't really an option, I had to decide which were most important to me.“

“Visited on a Friday early evening. Located in downtown Detroit in a nice part of town with some cool shops and restaurants nearby. At about 5:30 pm, the place was starting to get busy, but we were able to get a table for four easily, maybe one of the last available, though. Service was quick and attentive. We ordered a flight of everything, and one of the guys also got a mixed drink of some sort. The beers ranged from alright to good. Service here was the most noteworthy part of the visit. Our server was great! Pricing was on the lower side, but considering what was offered, it was fair. Beer styles were pretty common. Didn't get too wild. Food is available here, and the stuff that came closely smelled really good. Had we not already had dinner plans, this would have been a good option.“

“It's an airport bar that does flights and if you're not from here there should be enough local ticks to make it worth it. Pints less so at that price. Didn't try food. Service airportish. Ambience... well ya.“

“Located in corktown in the shadow of the former Michigan Central Station. There wasn't a ton of parking near by, so I had to park a couple of blocks away. It looks like the neighborhood, like much of Detroit, is starting to turn the corner. It was wonderful old building with lots of friendly people both behind the bar as well eating there. The beer section was Michigan heavy which is cool and they also had a lot of heavy-duty 10 plus stuff and enough sense to serve in proper sizes. I think this place is mandatory for any visit of Detroit.“

“Visited for a late lunch on a Thursday. Located in a new development and a part of town that is renewing. Street parking is located on the blocks around the area, though I am sure is a challenge on weekends. Seating is long tables, at the bar or on a pretty sidewalk patio. Food and drink is ordered at the bar. Beer selection is 11 North Peak, and 11 Jolly Pumpkin beers. Nothing to crazy, but certainly a lot of great choices. Menu is Pizza, and really solid pizza at that. Cocktails and spirits available as well. Friendly service. I enjoyed my visit.

“Next to Gate A36 and across from the Westin. Fancy modern place. Hot food on one side, nibbles and drinks in the middle, bar in back. You can sit at the bar and order food and drink or grab either and sit at long tabkes in the center, conveniently appointed with outlets for charging. Beers were $9-12, pretty steep, even for an airport. Leaps and bounds better than anything we have at CLT.“

“Moderately sized, moderately priced, and the service was decent. They make almost exclusively sour ales so if you are a fan of those it is definitely worth a visit. Otherwise, they don't have much else and don't sell much of anything that isn't their own.“

“Interior has a cozy feel while being fairly spacious. I had a little trouble getting the server's attention, but after she acknowledged me there were no more problems. Food is quite good - try the black & white dip. Beers are fairly good; I didn't have anything outstanding, but maybe I didn't try their best brew. Worth a visit if you live in or near Detroit, or are visiting for a few days.“

“Visited on a Saturday evening in early July 2015. Like a giant, nicer WVRST in Toronto, with long wooden communal tables and cafe-like food ordering. There are tap handles attached to the side of an enormous barrel, it looks cool. Just quiet music playing, seems pretty chill. Beer selection from JP is pretty good, and bottles to go. There's a whole section for North Peak too, but hard to compare. Very friendly, helpful staff. Would love to return if in the area again. (4/9/11/8/8/15) 78“

“Visited on a Saturday afternoon in early July 2015. Sat on the top floor patio covered by enormous orange tarps, and there are soccer and tennis matches playing on television screens behind protective glass. Funky music. There is an enormous tap list, just wildly enormous. Fantastic selection. Bar downstairs was packed but has a nice atmosphere, a bit more upscale than the patio feel. Would absolutely return, you could be here a few days and still not try everything. Food was great. Servers were busy but helpful. (4/7/14/8/8/16) 82“

“Visited on a Saturday morning in early July 2015. Ate a nice, straightforward breakfast. A bunch of others in the room were clearly going to the game and had stopped in for breakfast first. It has a nice Detroity atmosphere, with a tired bar decor of worn wooden everything, and there's a huge long mirror behind the bar. Slow service but friendly. Unfortunately Jer got covered in salsa by one of the other servers tripping nearby. Oops. Beer selection is decent, we tried a couple local brews we hadn't seen yet. A good little stop if you're not in a rush. (4/7/11/7/8/14) 72“
