74 /100 1140 S MICHIGAN AVE Interior was a bit dark but cool on a hot day. I’ve heard the BBQ is good, but I’ll be honest, I had a salad and it was good. The beer there was good, nothing super stand out, but good. The biggest thing about the selection is the number of other Michigan beers they have. You will find someone you really like! |
80 /100 4060 E GRAND RIVER AVE In a strip mall, but nice on inside. Wall partitions off from the brewing equipment. I came in on a quiet afternoon around lunch. Bartender was attentive and friendly and was nice enough to give tasting instructions (not needed for me but glad they care about the experience of others!) Very large tap list with a huge range of beer styles. I did not sample the food but it was snack food only with carry in allowed. Overall a nice experience! |
72 /100 4060 E GRAND RIVER AVE Decent amount of beers on tap with a range of styles (from Berliner Weiss to IPA to Saisons). Snack food only. |
76 /100 1140 S MICHIGAN AVE Old Shark Club - like the way the re-did the inside. Lots of beer on tap - average with none really standing out but none really offensive. Food was OK and the portions where large. |
78 /100 1140 S MICHIGAN AVE An average place. The beer is OK. The food is OK. Nothing exciting. Nothing to offend.
Staff is good for a restaurant, a little off for a brewery. I was there last night and I asked our waitress what her favorite beer was: "I don’t drink beer", she says. She then launched into the best sellers list, so at least she tried.
Worth a stop if you’re in Howell, It’s right at the D-19 I-96 interchange, GPS units tend to get it really wrong.

86 /100 1140 S MICHIGAN AVE Very nice interior very cozy. Lots of room and tons of beer on tap. Food was above average. |
76 /100 4060 E GRAND RIVER AVE In strip mall. Has weird grocery store electronic sliding doors. Big interior big tap selection. Nice staff. |
90 /100 4060 E GRAND RIVER AVE Good solid beers with good service. They have a good variety including cider, wine and soda. Carry in foods encouraged and delivery from local sources is available. Great for a new brewery, must visit! |
70 /100 Meijer - Howell (Grocery Store) 3883 E GRAND RIVER AVE It’s a Meijer, what can you say about ambiance? A small Wal-Mart. The difference - the beer selection. This is the only Meijer I know that has such a large selection of beers. They devote one full isle to craft beers - with half being from Michigan. Prices are very reasonable. I’ve purchased difficult to get beer at SRP. Although not the greatest in selection, for the area, you can’t beat it. |
76 /100 Bella’s Market (Grocery Store) 1644 PINCKNEY RD I’ve been shopping Bella’s since it was built. Over the years the selection of beers has improved considerably. I picked up a 6-pack of Arcadia Thunder Trail. Not that this says much, but 3 years ago they didn’t have this large of selection. I’ve seen a considerable improvement of beer selection since they opened. The only problem - for the most part, the prices are quite high as compared to other places. |
58 /100 Meijer - Howell (Grocery Store) 3883 E GRAND RIVER AVE What the heck, in the DB so going to rate it. Stopped by here to go grocery shopping while visiting family and checked out the beer selection. Some singles and a decent selection in 6 packs. But if in the area, hit up Canopy! |
60 /100 Bella’s Market (Grocery Store) 1644 PINCKNEY RD Decent selection but very small single selection - mostly 6 packs. If there was a large single selection, I would have bought a bunch! |
66 /100 Meijer - Howell (Grocery Store) 3883 E GRAND RIVER AVE This is not your father’s Meijer. This is the only store in any that I’ve been in that has this level of beer selection. The rest have your usual vanilla smattering of name brand craft beers represented. But, this odd place has a large stock of local Mich, national, and some international beers. They have a wide selection of Michigan Beers (Arcadia, Founders, Bells, Ann Arbor Brew, Detroit Brew Co, New Holland, Shorts, etc) and national (Sam Adams Imperials, Erie, Flying Dog, Dogfish Head, Great Lakes, Heavy Seas, Lagunitas, Southern Tier, Stone, Sierra Nevada) including rare seasonals when they emerge. Being a giant grocery store, you get the pimply faced stock boy if you need some help, but their pricing is rock bottom: they meet or beat everyone that I’ve seen in the state. |
60 /100 Mr. B’s Rustic Tavern (Restaurant) 101 WEST GRAND RIVER AVENUE I’ve been to many Mr. B’s throughout the Metro Detroit area over the years and this one has the best beer selection. Michigan Brewing IPA, Bells Two Hearted, Oberon, Arcadia Nut Brown, Anderson Valley Barney Flats stout, GL Edmond Fitz porter, and a couple others. There was at least one brew of the common styles on tap that I would drink and that’s saying something for Mr. B’s. Food is good, I had the walleye which made me feel like I was in Michigan. There were a lot of kids running around, the place is super loud, and the smoking section is right next to the non-smoking which kinds defeats the purpose. But you take what you can get when in Howell. |
