“Why visit Vecindario? There is nothing to see in this widespread city. People live here and tourist only visit the mall, Atlantico, if they come here at all. But, beer tourists have a good reason to visit. Galotia Brewing has a open taproom every Thursday to Saturday. Easy to visit by car, but parking my be a problem. You can also take a bus from Las Palmas or from the touristy southern parts of the island. Very simple interior but cozy and craft beer-ish. A super friendly and talkative man at work when I visited. We had a long chat about local craft beer. I tried two beers from tap, small glass of course. 5 beers on tap, some were Galotia collabs and hard to find in bottles here at Gran Canaria. Also 6 beers available in bottles, all stored in a fridge. I bought a couple of bottles and a Galotia t-shirt. Will be back next time I visit Gran Canaria. Galotia was a first time experience this summer, and I tried 13 of their beers during two weeks. Maybe the best local brewery? The service minded man gave me a tip that nearby Jaira, also had open taproom this evening. (Visited July 12th 2019) Revisited July 2023: Still very knowledgeable and friendly service. Cold cans for take away in the fridge.“
