“Fairly nice renovation of an old industrial building, probably a mill, although the original function is pretty well hidden. Lots of nooks and crannies anyway. Small bar tucked way in the back, half a dozen seats. Small peak at the fermenters through glass next to the bar. Some shaded outdoor tables as well with views of the lovely and huge parking lot. A dozen beers on offer, flights of four possible, with a good variety in addition to the obligators NEIPAs. Beers are fine but not too exciting. Food is old school family restaurant sort of stuff, generic but fresh. Worth a stop if in town anyway.“

“We came here on 27.12.2019. Our first brewery in New Hampshire. Opened in November and already have quite good beers. We tasted the IPA and the DIPA, both really good. Service was extremely attentive, offered us samplers and explained some background about the brewery. Overall an unexpected surprise.“

“Solid selection and very cool owner that is happy to chat beer, give recs, and hold cans/bottles for you. Probably the best service I’ve ever had in a bottle shop. Prices aren’t on the beer which I don’t like (the owner was more than happy to give the prices on everything while I was browsing though), but other than that a great shop.“

“Very good selection with a friendly laid back owner with potty mouth almost as bad as my own who really knows his shit. Selection is slightly disorganized but nice for browsing. Everything is available in singles, which is mandatory for me. Very low key but you’ll find the best of whatever’s available in southern NH. The distributors know he knows what he’s doing so they make sure he gets the good stuff. Prices are not marked, so if you’re on a budget just ask. He doesn’t mind. I have asked the prices so many times, that he just tells me how much everything is while I am browsing.“

“Little bottle shop/home brewing store located close to down town Keene. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Mostly New England beers with several hard to find New Hampshire breweries. Keene is a groovy little town and it’s well worth a visit if your in the neighborhood.“

“Brewpub in the corner of a large, old building that’s been turned into a shopping mall. Lacks much in the way of style. Good number of house beers, but none were really good. Didn’t try the food but we were there during their hot wing special and they smelled delicious and all the tables around us ordered them. Plenty to try if you’ve never been there, but not a place you’re likely going to want to return to.“

“Beer selection in front and homebrew supplies in the back. Selection of beers is fairly good, but not super extensive. Person manning the store was very helpful with suggestions. Aisles were a bit cramped and considering there was plenty of room between the beer selection and homebrew supplies, this is puzzling. Fair selection of homebrew supplies. Prices were a bit on the mid to high end for ingredients, but reasonable for equipment. Commonly used malts were in open barrels with cut away tops and no obvious way to cover or protect them from staling.“

“Located in an old mill that someone’s turned into something of a shopping mall. The place has a kind of Applebee’s, Rub Tuesday Corporate feel to it. It was dead on the Thursday night I visited. I on,y had time for one and it was ok. I might comeback but only because I’d be lpicking up a few bottles from Brewtopia first.“

“What a find this place is. I got there 5 minutes before close and yet the owner was kind enough to show me around the shop and give me some good local recommendations. Clearly these guys have a passion for beer. Every beer in the store can be purchased as a single which demonstrates they get it. The strength of the store lies in its regional and national crafts. They also have homebrew supplies as well. Definitely a destination Place for the surrounding area.“

“Real nice set up. Coolers set up all around the store with some warm stock in the middle of the room. The owner was very pleasant, helpful and loved to talk about beer. Very knowledgeable about his products and brewing. The back of the store is dedicated to home brew supplies. Car boys, yeast, malts, hop pellets, you name it and this place has it. If you are in town for Elm City, stop by and pick up a few bottles. If I ever find my way back to Keene, I will stop in without a doubt.“

“Located in an old mill that was converted in shops and this restaurant & pub. They have an outside patio when the weather permits. Our waitress was very pleasant and tentative. Our meals and appetizer where severed promptly and steaming hot. The peanut butter tort was an great dessert paired very nice with the Espresso Stout. Overall I think the prices are a tad bit high, however the food and beer makes me think about a return trip in the summer time.“

“My wife and I did a nice three day trip that involved a Friday night in Brattleboro VT, up to Hill Farmstead on Saturday, then up to Montreal for Sunday. On that Friday night in Brattleboro we took a quick trip over to Keene and came to Elm City for dinner. None of the beers were mind blowing, but most were well made. Looks like they do have a good amount of interesting and new stuff regularly, so if this was a local place for me I’d certainly be happy. Food was quite good and the service was quick and friendly. It was a fairly busy night but we didn’t feel like we had to wait for very much. Worth a stop if you’re in the area.“

“I’ve been here a couple of times, but decided to review after stopping here on the way home from vacation. Located a few blocks off of the main drag behind a mill building turned mall this can be a bit tricky to find. We stopped in today for a late lunch and were quickly seated at one of the empty tables outside. I think the few times I’ve been here we’ve always eaten outside. There are maybe a dozen tables outside and probably 3 times that inside as well as seating at the bar in the back. The food is typical pub grub and the beer is average. There were 7 beers on tap today including a roggenbier which I have been dying to tick. Today our waitress was a bit on the un-attentive side as I sat for much to long with an empty glass. The table next to us saw their waitress 3 times as much as we saw ours so I will chock that up to a bad day. Decent brewpub overall and fairly reasonable prices. “

“This place opened in May 2011. Right now there are dry shelves in the middle of the store with coolers on the walls. There are regional beers and imports. Among the local brands available are White Birch, Smuttynose, Shipyard, Berkshire, McNeil’s, Allagash, and others. The enthusiastic owner is already talking about expanding his coolers. Next door is a homebrewing supply shop. It is really a one-stop shop for beer. Located a few hundred yards off Keene’s downtown Central Square just across the street from the Middle School.“

“Within the brick walls of the Colony Mill Marketplace you will find this brew pub around back. It is not a large place but it seemed comfortable. I sat at the bar where I was greeted by a friendly and helpful waitress. I went for the four 4 oz. samplers for $4.00. I ordered up a sausage/chicken in sauce appetizer for my meal, which was plenty big enough. But there were plenty of sandwiches and other pub fare available. Service was quick. They had about 7 of their own beers on tap along with a few commercial crafts. Growlers available. I enjoyed my visit.“

“Hard to find, but once you know it is behind the Colony Hill Marketplace, it’s not that secluded. The classy interior design with lots of brick and dark wood carries over onto the terrace. The very comfortable patio chairs helped too. The crab bisque we had was truly delicious, and we regretted we weren’t hungry for more. The beers we had were all decent, but none stood out in the "masterpiece" category. I thought the German styles were done especially well, moreso than the English. I bet they could do a great unfiltered Pilsener. All in all, I’d come back here more often because I love well-crafted lagers (and there are so few in Northeastern America), but this is out of way somewhat. I would like to come back for dinner.“

“I’ve heard of this place and finally made it out to Keene to check it out. As others have stated, it’s in an old brick mill building so the decor is all brick with old wood floors. Great looking, but on the down side, very noisy. My wife and myself were there at lunch time and the service was very good. We were seated right away and the waiter was there in minutes. Meal was good, typical pub fare. They do have higher priced entrees, but only serve them later in the day. The one beer I had was pretty good. My wife had a raspberry wheat beer which I sampled and it seemed tasty. Now I’ve found the place I’ll have to go back.“

“We go to Elm City about quarterly. We love the location, the old mill is awesome. The food is typical pub fare and is good. The beers are good and constantly changing, though nothing has ever stood out as outstanding. The service is always good, all of our severs have been friendly. Overall, this place is average.“

“I have relative that live near Keene and we visit this place when I can. They changed management/brewers a few years a go and I am convinced that the new folks are a bit less talented than the originals.... one of those unfortunate realities. Food is consistent and, when it is a "good batch" the No Name IPA is a decent beer. I’ll keep going and will enjoy the "good days", when they occur.“

“Have been there a handfull of times. The beer selection wasn’t the greatest and there have been only a couple I really liked. Seemed like a lot of fruity beers but they are constantly changing them out. The service however is outstanding. They aren’t afraid to give out free samplers! The food is pretty good as well. Great place to enjoy a couple beers with dinner or lunch. Not much of a bar scene if you’re into that.“

“Sat at the bar. Two taps, both seasonal New England beers, plus about 40 or so bottles, only about 8 of them being a standard light lager. They have a nice mix of expected British ales like Bass, Harp, and Guinness along a couple Samuel Smith offerings. The American selection is a respectable selection of VT and NH beers from Long Trail, Magic Hat, and Smuttynose. Also some Red Hook since they have a facility in Portsmouth, NH and Shipyard from Maine, and offerings from Unibroue, which is a somewhat local brewer. Bartender was nice and talkative. Housed in the EF Lane Hotel on Main Street in Keene, NH. The ambiance is nice with exposed brick and lots of turn of the century touches as part of the hotel which this restaurant is part of. You can’t help but consider some of the ambiance from the hotel and town of Keene while sitting here. Keene is a classic and picturesque town with a wide main street flanked by century old brick buildings, a center park and a large white church with towering steeple at the center of it all.“

“Nice place in an historic old brick mill. Great bar area - very friendly and helpful staff - quick - quick matters. My last visit, I was totally surprised to learn that they had a new brewer with much better stuff than a few years ago.“

“Elm City is placed in downtown Keene in a renovated mill with lots of little shops. There is a toy store, some other shops, but the gem is a little kitchen store with some nice beerware imperial pints, pilsner glass, etc in there for $2-3/glass not bad at all. The outside/inside is brick decor with a nice antique look. We were a party of 7 (3 kids, 4 adults) and there wasn’t a wait which was great. The service was very slow, which surprised us since it was not very busy in there. When the waitress arrived she was very attentive. It just took her 20min to get to us, in a half empty restaurant. I ordered the NoName IPA which I paired with the philly cheesesteak. I also had the peachy keene kolsch for dessert. The beer menu was great it explained what they had on tap clearly and they had some guest beers (Unibroue, Shipyard). Overall it was a great experience, the beer and food were great. The only bad note was I wanted to take home a growler of their beer and they were out. Next time it will teach me to keep a growler in the car for such an occasion, but that had never happened to me before so lesson learned. “
