“This is an attractive, modern space in the center of Princeton, with pleasant decor and attractive, mellow lighting. it has the expected selection of 8 or so Triumph brews and a couple of ciders. The food was not cheap ($15 for a hummus plate) but it was tasty, with outstanding fresh bread. The service was excellent - our waitresses were pleasant and helpful. This is a good brewpub - Triumph seems to have stepped up their game since I last checked them out.“

“Visited in November 2018, when I needed some beers to supplement the beers on offer at the Nassau Inn. I bought a few cans from the fridge and they proved to be good value, hoppy and unusual (to a British tourist). A good bottle shop.“

“What a delightful contrast to the dreadful Oak Tree Wine and Liquor 45 minutes away. This place is well organized, attractive (if a bit cramped) and the service was excellent. The beer selection is quite good, with quite a few available as singles.“

“This is a very pleasant spot on a post card street in Princeton. Nice interior with views of stainless steel tanks and good tunes playing st perfect volume. Beer is average. Food is way above average for a brewpub.“

“It’s been awhile, but a really good brewpub. Drafts are good - great(for your average brewpub), the food is a bit expensive but tasty. Unless it crazy busy it’s worth a stop if you are in Princeton.“

“A few "problems" first. Parking can be very hard to get nearby. Storefront is very narrow, it’s just a hallway wide,’so it can be hard to see. After those things it’s all pretty good. When I was there it was quiet with a few at the bar and TV’s playing news and sports news around the fairly long bar that is in front of the stacked multi floor brewing equipment. It was the summer season with the frosh class just reporting so that may be why it was quiet. The food was much better than I thought it was going to be so I was not upset by the slightly higher prices than say a walk in restaurant. The wait staff was above average. It was a hot day and I was with the family so I only had two glass of the same beer which I found to be good . Overall I liked it and would certainly try again.“

“A stunning location with vaulted ceilings and lots of light. Big bars and large booths. Service is decent with a bit of beer knowledge. They have. A full. Tasting flight, unfortunately the beer is mediocre at absolute best. I wouldn’t go back.“

“Your typical chain brewery. Nice place, relaxed environment, decent selection of beers on tap. Beers were average. Waitress was kind of all over the place. This is the second triumph I’ve been to. I prefer the other, but I’d still stop back in here if I was in the area.“

“Really liked the place. Calm, quite, reserved...do college students in Princeton not drink before noon? Beuatiful space. Goodnfood and beer. Not guest taps. Good service. Prices are higher than I am used tofor food, but reasonable to good for the area.“

“I’ve been here a number of times over the years but recently realized I’d never reviewed the place. As such I made side trip there on my way back from RiverHorse’s new digs not far away. First I’ll say...what this place has is location...location...location...plus some really good atmosphere...great building...original layout. Additionally, the food varies from good to very good and occasionally worth going out of your way for. Now for the beer...I’ve never been a big fan...not that they don’t have some good beers...I’ve just found the offerings over the years to be a hit or miss selection of non-descript or unimaginative beers on up to pretty good and occasionally worth stopping in expressly for. The problem is you never know which you’re going to get...and never many of the best at one time...so I don’t feel this is a destination brewpub...but certainly a worthy stop when in the area. When recently there I enjoyed the Bengal Gold IPA and the Coco Buck.“

“Food gets a bump since it’s a quality grocery store, in my opinion. Service was great. Nobody particularly relegated to the "beer section", but everyone that worked there was friendly and helpful. Pretty conservative selection of macros. Of course, you can find the Unibroue Trader Joe’s Ale of various vintages on the shelves. I picked up a DIPA from here though that was bloody awful. Prices, great. Food, great. Craft beer selection....fairly lame. Much love for Trader Joe’s in general though!“

“Decent spot on the edge of Princeton. Food gets a 9/10 because it’s a grocery store. Beer selection is vast...just not varied. Volume does not make up for the lack of quality bottles. Probably like all of the Wegmans - a few decent, hard to find bottles, but only offered sporadically. I’ll stop by when I’m in the area just to take a look. You never know!“

“A nice brewpub in downtown Princeton. Can be difficult to find a parking spot. When you enter the building, it is a long walk to the brewpub, but it ends up being quite a large space. Several levels of seating, but I sat at the bar. I got a czech pilsener and fruit beer, both decent. I didn’t get any food. All the Triumph locations are pretty great, and I found this one worth the visit. The Princeton area is very nice as well.“

“Nice spot in a Princeton. Have gone a few times and they always have a good crowd. Lunch is a little quieter. Not a typical college-town bar; quieter and more date-friendly. Craft beer is relatively new to this place but they are doing some good business. Food is great but expensive. Atmosphere is college-oriented but classier than a typical bar/restaurant catering to the college kids. Nice place.“

“The entrance is a long, cavernous walk from the edge of Princeton’s campus back to what seems like the PA border. The inside seems like vamps would hold a rave here. The selection was kind of poor; we sat at the upper bar for several minutes without service before walking a few steps to the lower bar and getting our beers from someone who seemed like he had better things to do. The beers, once poured, tasted fine.“

“Going to give marks off for the waiter being completely useless - even had to cash out at the bar though we were at a table. That aside... Nice industrial/brewery vibe going on here. Selection of house beer was decent. I found the three we tried to be quite drinkable. Would go back for the beer, the food...but not the service.“

“You enter down a very long hallway, almost cave-like, into a multilevel place with one long bilevel L shaped bar. Most people we saw were drinking martinis or single malt whiskies, pretty unbelievable actually. Nice selection of beers available in a sampler, and two bottles as well, 750s. Nice stop. Street parking was easy right out front, but my guess is that was just good timing. Could be tougher if the campus has an event of some sort.“

“I was looking at place ratings wondering why I haven’t rated any places in New jersey. then I remembered when I worked in Princeton I always came here. Great looking brewpub in downtown with exposed brick and its big. I used to get samplers of standard brewpub beers and also I drank a lot of scotch while here as was my way back then. Food I remember being good as well. Definitely worth a visit if in town I would go back“

“I’ve been shopping here on a regular basis for a while now. Great find in the Princeton area! Massive selection of craft beer, plus the prices are fair and often competitive. I’ve picked up a lot of rare stuff over time that they’ve had on the shelf, but it seems that most gems you need to ask for. Sometime last year I was able to get a 2010 Founders KBS they were storing in the basement! Unless things change, I give them a lot of credit, they’ve really stepped up their game over the years.“

“We had a really nice visit here. It was Sunday and fairly early for dinner, but the place was quite crowded considering how large it is. They had an interesting menu, with some variations on the typical bar food you might expect walking in, and the items we ordered were plenty solid. As for the beers, they ranged from mediocre to pretty solid, with more of them leaning toward the good side. They also had some styles you may not always find at a brewpub (Rauch, Impy Stout, Tripel) which was nice. The trainee we had serving us was pretty confused, but very nice, and she was clearly trying, so I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt. I’d re-visit.“

“Came in here on a Saturday and the guy didn’t charge me cover after I said I was just here for the beer. The music was really good, however. Beers were ok - nothing mind blowing but nice to have something in area. Sample tray is pretty cheap if I recall correctly. Food wasn’t quite as good - had a very rubbery chicken sandwich. It was last call for food of the night, so maybe that had something to do with it.“

“Nice little selection of craft beers here. A few things I haven’t seen elsewhere. Definitely the best place I saw in Princeton - went into a couple of other shops that advertised "craft beer selection" and amounted to a few bottles of Yuengling. Woman working there was a little grumpy at first - insisted on directing me to the coors section when I asked for beer, but was friendly after when she gave me directions to the Wegmans. Good singles selection, to be sure, with a few Belgians as well.“

“The entrance on the main street in Princeton may be a bit tough to catch, but once you spot it and walk down the long hallway everything opens up immensely. This place is gorgeous, big open space, lots of revealed brickwork, large high ceilings permitting two levels. As I got here at about 11:30 on a Thursday, there was no crowd so to speak. There was an afternoon Met’s game so the bar had been set up to have that as an event. $2 foot long hot dogs, $3 pints during the game. I sat myself at the lower bar amidst bowls of diced onions, relish, and ketchup and mustard bottles in preparation for the baseball crowds. Prices here are pretty good as well. They had seven beers on, and a sampler of all of them (seemed to be four ounce pours) was $9. During the day there’s also a bar menu in addition to the large menu of reasonably priced food. Got a grilled cheese, side salad, and an order of fried pickles for a total of $11. Hard to beat that. Service was great, very friendly and fast (I’m sure it helped that I was the only one in the bar for a while). Could also have been because it was the start of the shift and work day, but everyone I saw working seemed happy and smiled a lot. Food came out quickly and was done well. Beers that were there when I visited – 2 IPAs, oatmeal stout, witbier, amber, blonde, and a dortmunder/helles. Some were solid, most were a step or two above typical brewpub beers. Also, free wi-fi is always a good thing.“

“Located on a street with a downtown-ish feel right next to the University. I found parking to be a slight challenge. The place looks VERY much like it used to be an old theater, and today it is adorned with artwork and movie memorabilia. There are three levels in the place. The bar itself is on two of the levels which is kinda cool and there are tables on the upper level. Technically the brewhouse is on a fourth level, between the upper part of the bar and the upstairs seating. The bartender was professional enough. Food prices were solid with some good specials. I got a massive buffalo chicken sandwhich with a ton of house made potato chips for $7. The beers were all pretty solid. Overall, this is a great place.“

“Decor is similar to the Philthy location, with very high ceilings and lots of blonde wood and silver contrasting in that kinda late 90s look. Very pleasant atmosphere, good acoustics and flow to the space. Comfy booths, and a nice substantive (and well priced) food menu helps considerably. Good range of brews on tap, lots of seasonals, some casks, and the beers’ quality is pretty solid too. If you’re in town, it’s a must.“

“Having been to this brewpub three times I have not been disappointed once. The food was excellent, though the brew list is short they are well done and the service was excellent. Not your normal college town pub and I’d highly recommend. Not to be confused by Triumph of New Hope about 15 miles away which is near opposite.“

“Wine is clearly the thing here although they have some artisanal spirits along with a wall of craft beer. It’s conveniently located a block from the Princeton campus just off of Nassau street. Fortunaltey there’s a parking garage just across the street from the store although you apparently get free parking for the first 30 minutes. Almost all of their selections were craft beer. A lot of regional with some belgians and random other things thrown in. They also have some of their stuff in the cooler which is nice to pair with the offerings available at the Italian market just around the corner. The staff seemed personable although I’m not sure how knowledgeable they are about beer. Also, since it’s in Princeton, New Jersey, the prices ain’t exactly cheap. But given the lack of quality available in New Jersey, this place is something of an Oasis.“

“I drove 40 miles out of my way to sample this place, because New Jerseys is not exactly blessed when it comes to craft beer. If you get lucky you might find on-street parking, but most likely you’ll be in the parking garage which is a block away. Also there’s a used record store on South Tulane that, if you make a purchase there, Triumph will give you a buck off the first pint. I thought the architecture and the decor were stunning though the two-level design of the bar means the bartender gets quite a workout. They’re definitely trying to match the upscale nature of the area clientele. They only do 6-7 beers at a time including a cask conditioned something. The Roggenbock was by far the star of the show for me. The meal I had was solid as well. I’ll definitely go back if I’m in the area.“
