“Full restaurant brew pub with a big bar, plenty of indoor seating and a nice outside space when the weather permits. Big menu and I've never had bad food at any of the Brew Kettle locations. Large tap list with many of their beers and lots of nice guest taps. Great place for dinner and really good beer.“

“This is a stand alone place toward the back of an office park like place. Plenty of parking. They had nine of their beers and a hard seltzer on tap when I visited. They also had local mead and local wine available. Small menu but I didn't eat. I have had the Bavarian pretzel before, and it is a nice beer drinking snack. The beers are fine. Good place if in the area.“

“Visited on a Friday afternoon. They have their own large dedicated parking lot, though it seems like the common parking place for walking around downtown. The store itself is nice. If I lived around here, I would shop here. The beer selection is about what I would consider as standard. Lots of six packs, a few large format bottles, and a growler station that nobody was working at. Even though nobody was working there, that was the most interesting part of their beer area. This place is worth stopping into if you are already going to be in Hudson, but not a place to go out of your way to visit.“

“Visited on a Friday afternoon. They are located in a decent part of town close to a few restaurants. They share a parking lot. The space is large with a patio for outdoor seating in good weather. Flights are available of anything on draft, though one I tried to order was kicked. No big deal, but the server didn’t even offer to let me replace it with something else, which I would have. I get the feeling this server didn’t really want to be there because he was hard to get to take our order, then didn’t bother to come back until we were done with our beer for quite some time, even though he was behind the bar, and there weren’t any new orders coming in. He wasn’t busy, just uninterested. Hopefully that isn’t the norm. The beer selection here was good. Several beers I was actively interested in trying. They do carry guest drafts. Prices were good as well. I would visit again and hope for better service.“

“Visited on a Tuesday mid-afternoon for a late lunch. The place is located in downtown Hudson near many other small shops and restaurants. Street parking only. They were not very busy at 2:30, but as we were finishing our meal around an hour later, it was beginning to pick up. Service was a bit slow, but very friendly and helpful when they stopped by. The food here is kind of like high end bar food. Extensive burger and fry menu. I had the Curry Lamb burger with Truffle fries as a side. The food was great. For beer they had a good selection of local craft brands plus some regionals like Founders and Three Floyd’s. Pricing across the board was fair to good. The quality of the food is excellent, so that makes up for the higher cost to me. I had a nice experience here, and will be recommending it to friends.“

“New tap house in Hudson Ohio and its nice. Seats 20 at the bar, which is made of marble. You can seat another 50 people at tables and booths. Help seems to be good and plenty of parking behind the tap house. Didn't eat any thing but looks really good, for what I seen. I really like this place. 36 tap handlers with their own beer and really awesome guest list. Check this place out! Cheers!“

“Liquor store tucked into the corner of a grocery store. Clean, but not an employee to be seen. I have to assume that they wouldn’t be much help if I did find one. Not a huge selection of beers, but what’s there seeems to be well chosen. Prices seem decent. Good selection from the larger local micros.“

“This place has amazing food. The beer selection is the best in Hudson at a restaurant. You can get a great craft beer or a 16 oz can of Pabst to go with your burger.“

“More of a wine shop that has beer. The beer on tap is more impressive than the bottle selection. Mostly basic stuff that you’d expect to find everywhere.“

“Ambiance: Well for a grocery store, it’s pretty nice. It’s separated from the rest of the store in the corner, with a tasting bar on the side and a full liquor selection behind it. So rating it based on a grocery store it’s cool because it’s like a store within a store. Service: I don’t know how other people rate service, but out of the 15-20 times I’ve been here, I have maybe seen an employee in the area maybe twice, and somebody at the tasting area, once. So service is pretty much non-existent. Chances are they can’t help me anyway because I know what I’m looking at, but still- nothing. So I’ll give it a 5, just because I haven’t experienced good or bad. Selection: Again, for a grocery store, selection is good, but it’s not crazy. It’s mostly local stuff that you can find at good bottle shops, but if you live in Hudson or work near it and are grocery shopping- it’s one of the best places to pick up beer, unless you want to drive to Kent, Chagrin, or further. Value: I’ve found grocery store prices are always better than bottle shops- pretty much every time. So for what they have, you probably can’t beat the price. Overall: I give it an 18 relative to other grocery stores. Heinen’s beats it every time because they typically have a broader selection and sometimes rarer stuff and more imports. Obviously they don’t have the selection and service of a beer-only shop, but compared to other grocery stores it’s pretty good.“

“The beer selection here is not huge but nothing is wasted on fizzy light beer. You can’t really go wrong with anything. On the off chance you are bored try a milkshake with bourbon, rum, or something else. The food is the main reason to come here and the reason that it can be a long wait. In the meantime walk up to Main Street Cupcakes (if open) for some great dessert options. Prices are generally not bad but neither are they a bargain. Still, this is one of the better beer stops between Kent and Akron or Cleveland.“

“As a grocery store it’s spectacular. It’s one of the aesthetically pleasing grocery stores I’ve ever seen. Definitely a local version Wegman’s or Fresh Market. It’s about 1/4 the size of most grocery stores and it’s very efficently laud out. The bakery, deli, and butchers sections are real standouts. because it’s smaller there’s not much room for beer. They have one side of an aisle and two endcaps. They do have a number of regional and national craft brands but, as other have said, locals are mainly Great Lakes and Thirsty Dog. This isn’t a destination beer store but if you live nearby they will have the occasional seasonal.“

“Typical grocery store although this one also has a liquor section. Lots of BMC but also a number of regional and national craft selections. They have, despite the numbers, a pretty solid pick six section. You also get a 10% if you buy six. And typical of small towns, everyone was really nice.“

“A bit crowded, but worth the wait. Nice decor and a nice warm atmosphere. Waiter was really good and really attentive. Food is very good. Burgers are awesome and not too big that you can’t eat them and enjoy them. Didn’t have any beer the first time, but the draft selection looked good. Stone and Bells definitely stood out. Nice looking bottle list as well, plus a selection of milkshakes they’ll add various liquors to. Definitely worth the wait and a stop.“

Rosewood Grill (Restaurant)

“This is the new restaurant that replaced the tavern/bar area that used to be Turner’s Mill until they went out of business. The restaurant has a weird access point, you have to walk down a side area to get there which is weird. The interior decor is nice, muted, spacious and well appointed. The outdoor patio has 2 large fire pits, rocking chairs, other seating and individual tables which is the selling point of this place. The burgers are alright but not stunning and the cocktails are nice. The crowd is middle aged to elderly with a sprinkling of thirty something couples. They’ve got a decent list of beer but not stand out and with a new restaurant opening soon headed by Downtown 140s awesome ex-chef serving burgers and good beer, I don’t see Rosewood Grill stealing the show.“

“As local Hudsonite, this place has always been the dive bar in the area that doesn’t card. Any given night the crowd is college students back for break from school and 25 and up locals drinking til 2 am. They’ve got Thirsty Dog labrador ale, Stone Arrogant Bastard, Great Lakes Erie Monster then a your usual Coors Light, Bud, etc. They do make a mean chili cheese fries and the famous Garbage burger. Patio seating outside.“

“Progressive management has turned this small-town bar into a craft beer destination. They clean their draft lines religiously and at the time of this review had Dogfish Head and Stone on draft. They even pour the 90-minute into a snifter! I am a beer geek who knows the difference, and I say...Kepner’s has arrived!“

“I hate going to Acme and would rather go to Heinen’s or North End Market any day rather than Acme, or as it is known in our household Smacme. It’s a very average big grocery store but I was surprised to find the beer selection to have more variety than Heinen’s. However, Acme has many more six packs and more variety within these packs than they do singles which is something I think Heinen’s does much better. The selection includes Great Lakes, Lakefront, Avery, Lagunitas, BBC (bourbon barrel stout), Southern Tier variety packs and singles, Flying Dog, Magic Hat, Victory Brewing Co., Thirsty Dog, Goose Island, Bell’s, Stone, Dogfish Head, The Firehouse Brewing Co., a pumpkin ale by Brooklyn Brewing and Heavy Seas. An interesting selection but I wish they had more singles.“

“Small selection compared to Heinen’s at least in terms of singles and variety. The staff is friendly and helpful and are generally willing to break up a six pack if you want the single instead. Mostly a wine bar so that is their main focus and interest. Very small 3 seater bar right next to the beer with about 5 beers on tap, none of which are the ones listed on their website. UPDATE: Talked to one of the guys in the store and asked him to contact Three Floyds and Russian River to see if we could get them in Ohio. Said he was pretty sure that FFF no longer was in Ohio distributing and while he sold Russian River Chardonnay he knew nothing about the brewery side of the winery. Guy had FFF Behemoth that was a gift from a customer sitting on top of one of their coolers taunting me.“

“Go here often to shop and find some beers. Great for convenience sakes and food. Nice but small selection, always have events going on and very helpful and friendly staff. Have a good amount of singles to balance the six packs and up. Wish they carried more Ohio beers and not just the Great Lakes kind.“

“Grocery store with a suprisingly good selection. Mostly six/four/ packs but some good single selections too. nothing really rare but some good stuff from reputable American micros as well as some imported crafts. I didn’t get any food but it looked great (like a whole foods). I didn’t ask for help but I didn’t expect service to be great (in the beer department) since it was a grocery store - I’m sure if you talked to the owner/beer order guy you could get some nice help, but otherwise I stuck to myself. Value was pretty descent - average prices from my experience.“

“Went here last weekend while visiting my girlfriend (she lives in Hudson). This places has a pretty minimal selection but a very descent one. It had founders, DFH, Cantillon, Hanssens, Harvey’s, Bear Republic, Victory, Great Lakes, Hoppin Frog, Thirsty Dog, Stone, Great Divide, Southern Tier, Avery, and more respectable micros. The prices were fine, the people were nice, and there was a descent selection of singles and even some pseudo-rarities (at least for me). I didn’t ask for service or try the food so I will be giving those sections the middle most rating number. If you are into wine, 75 percent of the store is the wine section and they seem to be mostly a wine place and thus seemed to know their wine well. It was a friendly coasy atmosphere with a small (kind of awkwardly placed bar). No one was really in there. The had a nice big flat screen with a football game playing on it above the bar. Pretty nice she-she beer and wine stop in a nice little she-she town.“

“Even though I live very close to North End, I only visited it recently. They started as a wine store and kept expanding. A very nice mix of micro’s & imports (none of the standards either). The dinner menu looked good but didn’t have much for my wife (vegetarian). It’s the best beer selection within 15 miles easily.“

“It’s a really nice store with good food and atmosphere as all Heinen’s are, with friendly and helpful clerks. As far as beer, it’s so-so. Better than your average grocery store as far as crafts and imports go, but nothing out of the ordinary. The Brecksville Heinen’s has a much better selection.“

“Stopped in after seeing the event posted, and decided it wasn’t worth adding to the site. It’s a very limited selection of some common imports and local micros, they had some Stone bottles, but only the year round offerings. The most exotic imports I saw were some Lindemans. The Acme just around the corner has a far greater selection. As for the store, it has that Whole Foods kind of vibe to it, upscale gourmet grocery kinda thing. Though I was on my way out of town so I didn’t look around too much past the beer area. Still though, go to North Market, go to Acme if your in town, but I wouldn’t recommend this place for much more than a quick stop.“

“Stopped in here on a recommendation from my parents. They said they had some fancy beers there. It looks like they are part wine/beer store, and part restaurant/bar. When you walk in, there is a bar to your right with I believe 6 taps, all micros, and the beer section is right in front of you. Lots of Unibroue, Stone, Hopping Frog, and a wide range of imports, some new to me, most not. I think I may have been the first official beer geek in this place, because I found a shelf of 2004 Old Guardians and 2005 Stone RIS. I left with a big grin on my face. Steven, probably the beer guy there, offered to special order for me if I was going to be around again. Off to the left is the wine section and the restaurant, from my understanding they are pretty expensive as far as food goes, but I didn’t look at the menu. This is now on my official places to stop list when going to see the parents.“

“Hudson Wine and Spirits never really held a candle to Acme’s beer selection, but now that Acme had to switch over a lot of it’s shelf space to liquor the beer selection really looked like it took a hit. The wide array of samplers that used to have their own wall, now take up space that used to belong to Founder’s Breakfast Stout, GI BCS, and other assorted gems. I always stop in there when I’m in town visiting my parents, but the last time there I left dissapointed. It was usually good for at least a couple nice finds, but sadly that seems to no longer be the case.“

“Mostly a liquor store. Not much in the way of beer, just 2 small coolers. While what they do have is decent, its not worth going out of the way for. You probably won’t find what you are looking for if its is something out of the ordinary. I think Old Speckled Hen was about the best thing they had....“

“It’s a smaller store with most of the selection being wine and liquor, but they do have a good selection of beers in sixers and singles. They will also special order. Check w/ Steve while your there, he may not have all his inventory on the floor, so you may find a few surprises.“
