Owens Liquors (Beer Store)

“Hello. Here at Owens Liquors in Pawley’s Island, we have a vast selection of Craft Beer, at reasonable prices. Feel free to Mix & match 6 or more bottles for a discount, INCLUDING Bombers. High rated beers are easily seen from the displayed Shelf Talkers. It is very important to keep an eye on the bottled/canned dates, to assure the best flavor. Products past the, recommended drink by date, are removed from the shelves. When you enter Owens Liquors, the Beer side is to the left.“

“Place is quite a bit south of Myrtle Beach. Dedicated free parking right in front. Ambiance was nice, we ate outside which is adjacent to a pond. There beer on tap and BMC in bottle. Food is fantastic. Prices are quite reasonable. Shakedown wheat was descent. I would like to come back.“

“The food was very good. I had the swordfish which was on special. I had the beer flight with all there beers. They had 7 beers available. The flight consists of 7 once beers for $1 each. Their lager was no better than bud. They had 4 wheat beers. The mango was the only worth noting. The amber was decent and IPA just OK. The location is nice on a small lake and the restaurant was clean. A decent place to bring kids and teens. Not bad for SC. My big complaint is they have a brew pub with no stout, porter or strong beer available.“

“Great restaurant with great food. They only have 20 to 30 beers available but the lack of quantity does not mean they don’t have quality. They have Rochefort, st bernanbus, dogfish, maredous, and bells just to name a few. The owners are a husband and wife. They both came out to make sure everything was all right during our dinner. The service was excellent. The desserts and coffee were also marvelous. It is a must try if you visit the area. My new favorite in the Myrtle beach area. This place reminds me of Brooklyn Heights or Mullberry street. I am curious to see how it does in Myrtle beach.“

“Clean joint with a decent view. Quiet TV,s and clean facilities. Didnt eat here. Bartender was cool and somewhat informative though he didnt know they were brewing at the time. I talked to the brewer on the way out and he was cool. Laughed when i told him his associate didnt know he was brewing. Decent stop if yer in the neighborhood.“

“I really like this place. Its not on 17, its sort of back in Willowbrook....perfect since I played Willowbrook in the AM. Its just a very basic brewpub. They’ve got an amber, ipa, houe lager, american wheat, hefe, etc. Nothing crazy at all. Just very basic brew done well for the masses. The food was above average pubfood. The reason I liked the place was the south african bartender. She clearly knows beer and could talk about styles and ingredients, etc but also you could tell non beer geek locals appreciated her as well. Not a must stop in Myrtle Beach because the beer is very similar to New South(TBonz, etc) and Liberty BUT if you are in Surfside or south, its one of the best beer options.“

“Brewpub located in a shopping center in the Southern end of the Myrtle Beach Tourist cluster-fuck. The center of the place contains a bar/sports bar type area. I think there were dining rooms elsewhere but I’m not sure they were using them. A bunch of regulars there were all waiting for a beer to kick so their favorite beer (the IPA) to come on tap. Plenty of parking. Prices are good on both food and beer. I would like the comment on the food, but even though I wanted to order some I was never asked if I wanted to order. I hear the wings are good, and several of the regulars were ordering them. The beers were rather pedestrian. The bartender was helpful, especially charging me for two pints ($2 during happy hour) instead of my 8 samples individually which would have been a buck each. Worth a stop if you’re around, but driving around here sucks, so I wouldn’t come through the area if you didn’t have to.“
