“Almost as central as it can be. Surprisingly popular and busy when we visited on a Saturday afternoon. Two bars - one smaller with mostly or only their own brews and a larger one with a decent selection of both their own and others. Certainly worth checking out.“

“Finally I got to visit this place too. Quite far from a central and convenient location for most, I would guess. As there is now quite a number of decent places in or close to the city centre I never managed to bother doing the excursion to here, but this time we were passing by and then it made sense. Maybe I waited then too long to visit as I wasn't flabbergasted, but by all means certainly a decent place. Very busy and lively on a Friday evening. Great selection of beer of course and friendly staff. Not sure I would bother to go back here if not on a mission for something specific...“

“Doesn't look like a brewpub, looks more like a cafe in glorious pastel shades - but where's the brewery? Pleasant service. Very crafty selection, fairly varied, yet seemingly lacking anything that would have been called beer 2 decades ago. Helsinki prices, so the taster tray is appreciated. good selection of cans that can be taken away, you're looking at about 8e per can. Kinda hangs off the Kurvi end of a Kallio crawl. Definitely worth a visit when in town.“

“Looks freshly opened. Met the same barman as in Muikku in last night. Plenty of selection in fridges, but tap list looked half empty. Large and spacious. Will come again.“

“Came here with mjs very briefly a while back, suffered a confusion, and decided to not review the place, in case the confusion was all my fault. Perhaps it was, but on a revisit, during covid times, I can see what was rubbing me up the wrong way. I don't like seeing a whole load of horribly overpriced dodgy rebadges. There's no Mikkeller Kamppi brewery, and I bet Mikkeller didn't make a whole batch of half a dozen different things just for this bar. But I gathered myself, gathered my sheckels, and lashed out (having said that, maybe Marduk paid for this round). Got some meh. M'kay, I guess that's what craft beer's all about now, large international brands producing not particularly good quality beer. Sounds remarkably like the world before craft beer begat itself. Mikkeller don't need my money, I don't need their beer. We're both happy that way. Actual environment and staff are fine, though, it's a cozy little place, and I can imagine it having quite a friendly vibe to it.“

“So the HAWK rises again (Helsinki Annankatu William K), after a brief stint as Lehto. Changed inside quite a bit, I'm not sure like it. Having all the homebrew paraphenalia in the hop downstairs is conceptually cool, but that room isn't cool on the eyes. Upstairs has a more cafe-like feel. We were the only customers at that point in the evening, so I can't be sure, but I get the feeling it could get noisy with more than a couple of tables occupied. Bottle selection looked really good, it looked like there would be many ticks, but we didn't do a formal check. Location near Black Door means that this is definitely one to pop your head into.“

“Ups and downs here. The best bit is the location, but that of course can't compensate for downs elsewhere, so central, right near Kaisla and Pien shop (and, OK, Molly's). Very large selection of craftier-than-heck brews on tap, but I literally couldn't find a proper beer, or one that I liked. But that's the scene. Because there was some recognition from the staff, we did manage to get 2 flights of half-pours before "new" staff took over and stuck by the rules, and we had to hit the regular sizes. Hotdog hit the spot, but not cheap. So, as I said, ups and downs. Unfair to draw too firm conclusions from one visit, I'll be back. Finnish craft brewers need to up their game a bit, and pastry sours need to die, then it'll get higher points.“

“An overextension of the Kallio-Kalasatama crawl, it's the same Metro stop as StaPa bar, but the opposite direction out of the station. Street signs didn't help much I had to just trust my memory of the openstreetmap page I'd pulled up a couple of days earlier and hope. But it was fine - walk towards the sea to the north, and you'll get there before falling in. Nice new addition to the Fish Pubs range. Seems to have a slightly craftier selection, and going for a more vibrant appeal. Staff was friendly. Put this as the start of the crawl, and was coming from a beer festival, so didn't really have time to sit back and take the place in, but I certainly wouldn't mind coming here again to get a better feel. Let's hope there's a Fish crawl next year...“

“Nice and easy to find - it's literally right behind the blacksmiths opposite Stockman, and has clear signage on its windows. Nice nordic wood interior, feels like a sophisticated place, but with subdued lighthing that doesn't make it feel too formal, or you too obvious. Good varied beer selection, countries and styles fairly broad. Staff friendly and helpful, and sampler trays are always customer friendly. Toilets are a bit remote, but if you drink enough, that can even become part of an adventure! Food looked quite premium, but I'm led to believe they don't skimp on quality, so probably nothing out-of-the-ordinary for this part of the world. Definitely worth fitting into your itinerary, it fits very conveniently into the central cluster of craft beer pubs, so there's no reason to miss it out, it's better than most of the others.“

“We arrived here quite late at night and I think it was a mistake. It looked unclean, reaked of piss and spilt beer. Que was mainly caused of foaming taps. Didn't enjoy it at all.“

“Various number of trams come here or close by. Even walking isn't that far from center, but public transport is way quicker. Now a Mad Hopper taproom/brewery. Small and tight. Flights done and English spoken. Friendly staff. Will come again.“

“Visited for the first time on a calm Saturday evening in August 2021. The location is not bad, 15 minutes walk from Helsinki Central Station. 8 beers on tap and bottles and cans in the fridge. A pleasant and rather cozy place but the best thing was the extremely happy lady at the bar. I will visit this place again in the future. Good vibes. “

“Visited for the first time on a Saturday during lunch in August 2021. The location of this fairly large restaurant/bar is very good, 3 minutes walk from the Helsinki Central Station. (I could also see this place from my hotel room at Marski by Scandic) The place was not crowded at all during my visit, the service was polite and good. 18 beers on tap available during my visit, also 65 cans/bottles. I had a flight and a couple of normal sized beers. The food was tasty, whitefish. This place shares toilets with other places, the code to the toilets is available at the bar.“

“Visited for the first time on a crowded Friday evening in August 2021. A nice bar with 24 beers on tap during my visit, also a bunch om bottles and cans. The service was prompt despite a lot of thirsty customers, the patio was full but i managed to find a seat at the bar. The location is good in central parts of the town, 5 minutes walk to the Helsinki Central Station. The last serving was at 10PM due to Covid, I managed to get the last serving of the evening. I will for sure visit this place when in Helsinki next time.“

“Visited for the first time on a Friday afternoon in August 2021. I walked to this place from Pien Brewpub, it took around 10 minutes. The walk from the Central Station takes around 40 minutes. (I like to walk) The area around the Brewery look like an empty industrial area. The place itself it quite small with a view of the brewery. Friendly service from the lady at the bar. 8 beers on tap during my visit, one of them was Cantillon Kriek. One could also buy Cantillon bottles to drink in the bar or to go. (also beers from Stadin, other Finnish and international breweries. I bought a bottle of Cantillon Tyrnilambic Baie D'Argousier )“

“Visited this place for the first time on a Friday during lunch in August 2021. A modern place around 25 minutes walk from the Helsinki Central Station. 16 beers on tap druing my visit, 3 from Pien. The apizza was tasty. I liked the fact that they played the Radio commentary in the restroom from the final in the Ice Hockey World Championships 1995, when Finland beat Sweden with 4-1. Beer to go in the fridge, also stronger beers to drink in. A pleasant place to visit although I felt a bit old compared to the other younger guests.“

“Visited for the first time on a Thursday evening in August 2021. I took a tram (10 minutes) from my hotel, Marski by Scandic. The patio was full but it was almost empty inside. This is a fresh and newly renovated place with an own brewery, Mad Hopper Brewing. The service was nice and talkative. They had 13 beers from Mad Hopper on tap during my visit. (also some cans and bottles) A flight with 5 beers (0,1dl) cost 10 EUR. I liked this place and will visit it again in the future. “

“Visited for the first time on a crowded Thursday afternoon in August 2021. This is a large place with several floors, located next to the Helsinki Central Station. I had a couple of beers, one from Finland and one from Czech Republic. The service was ok. The schnitzel that I ate was poor and expensive. (26 EUR) Next time I prefer to eat at Hesburger or something similar.“

“Visited for the first time on a Thursday in August 2021. This place is located around 20 minutes by bus from the Helsinki Central Station. The taproom is located in a building that originally was an indoor tropical garden. During my visit they had 12 own beers on tap and 3 guest beers. Also bottles and cans. It's possible to buy beer to go. (up to 5,5%) I kind of liked this place, the building is an interesting one.“

“Got to love RB search. Search doesn't show this place, but a lot of other unmatching shit, but extended search does. Ohh well. This place is as honest as honest can be. I think one of my new favourite places in town. Although it looks like some sort of hotel lobby it has more character than lots of other places. Prices are not too bad, some might even say cheapish. They do flights and small portions too. Will come back.“

“That was an interesting visit. We were the only customers, but due to COVid everything is bit strange. Anyways, quite center and nice place actually. What isn't nice are prices which are (to my opinion) way too high even for Helsinki. Might come back, but not sure.“

“Visited 11.8.20. Located close to central station and Sori Taproom. Classic beer bar. Many beers on tap, not really interesting stuff, more okay-ish beers and mainstream macro stuff. Also bottled beers (many standard Belgians). Prices are Finnish, that means expensive (cheapest acceptable craft beer was 6.30€ for 0.3l). Music is also mainstream, can be annoying. Not a must visit, better go to Pien which is nearby.“

“Visited 6.8.2020. Located about 5 minutes walk from the central station, but not in a street where you would expect such place, there are many crappy bars and fast food places around. The bar itself is very friendly and colourful, almost like a place for children. And yes, it is a hipster place. 3 big fridges filled with excellent beers, only beers below 5.5% are for take away due to legislation, these fridges require a lot of space so that the bar is bit small inside, also possible to sit outside. 8 beers on tap, 0.15, 0.3 or 0.4l available, 0.15l is reasonably priced starting at 3.50€. Good selection as well. Nice place and definitely worth a visit.“

“Visted 6.8.2020, opened 2 weeks ago. A bit far away from the city center but easy to reach via tram/Metro. Interior is very nice, modern and clean, a lot mint green and rose, very retro/80s. Digital tap list, 16 beers on tap and many more canned and bottled. Staff is nice and helpful. Food is available. Selection was very good. Beers are available at 0.15 or 0.33l. Prices for 0.15l are okay, but of course not cheap. Overall great place, maybe one of the best in Helsinki. Also there should be a brewery soon and they are currently working on it.“

“Visited 6.8.2020. Located close to the central station and even closer to the Mikkeller bar. Interior is a bit rustic (dark wooden chairs and tables) many books on shelves (in Finish). Some people wrote there’s a hotel lobby feeling and agree. 20 beers on tap, some canned in the fridge. All beers are priced at 7.50€, which is a bit strange, so basically you can pay the same price for a bad Gaffel Kölsch instead for something really good, so a bit overpriced, even for Helsinki. Staff is nice but Nordic cool. Worth to pass by if you are already in the neighbourhood. P.S. huge single malt selection.“

“Rather cozy brown local place a bit off the beaten path. Friendly staff and fair selection of domestic craft (+ one local rye whisky) and a handful of geuzes too. Not worth a detour by itself, but worth checking out if one happens to be in the area.“

“Small, kind of strange bar in some sort of passage to a shopping mall. Friendly and attentive staff and some interesting local stuff. As the selection is available online I knew that they had two sahtis that I hadn't tried before, and that was the main reason for my visit. Hardly a must visit, but might be worth checking out what on.“

“Central craft beer shop and bar with a wide selection and rotating taps. Something like this was really missing in Finland, so I am very happy this place exists! Friendly staff and there is also the option a takeaway option for beers that are up to 5.5% (due to national regulations). Great location and definitely worth a visit!“

“Visited early August 2019 – located a 20 minute walk from the West Ferry Terminal this place is probably the first or last place to visit depending on your scheduling and in our case this place marked our last pitstop before getting the ferry back to Tallinn. We visited late afternoon/early evening and despite it being quite a residential area, was reasonably busy with what appeared to be groups of workers relaxing with beers after a days work. Even with the bar itself being so small there was plenty of outside seating in the sun to absorb all the people which is good as sure this place would be rammed in winter months. Staff in the bar were friendly and there was a good taplist available on our visit, got through a few beers here sitting outside in the sun before walking to get our ferry back. Recommended spot.“

“Visited early August 2019 – definitely notice the unmistakably Mikkeller style décor on entering, and is a very small venue and very minimalist furniture available as expected. Staff friendly and efficient and beer choice was pretty solid on our visit, free water offered as well (was a hot afternoon) and took a corner section of seating to get through some ticks. Pretty relaxed ambience from starting but did start getting pretty busy just as we were leaving so probably good timing, only really need more then about 10-15 people for this place to start feeling packed. Location is pretty close to both Olutravintola Pikkulintu Ruttopuisto and 8-bit so well worth combining these 3 places.“

“Visited early August 2019 – quite a different type of location as you enter from going into a office block. Nice décor inside, reminded me of a kind of upmarket hotel bar with a high bar behind which was a real cross section of booze, from some rather nice looking whisky to a nicely presented board with the beer choices displayed. We got ourselves a couple of beers from the friendly barman who was quick to help even though he was involved in a lengthy chat with what looked like regulars at the bar. Service, selection and prices very good, and really liked this place - a must visit stop.“
