82 /100 The Brass Tap - Allen (Bar) 2540 N WATTERS ROAD STE 180 Small place, lots of taps and a great bottle selection. Food is good, service is up to par and family friendly during the day. |
68 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Allen (Restaurant) 190 E. STACY ROAD around the corner from my hotel this was convienent for a quick dinner and beer. Typical BJ’s with around 7 of their own offering plus about another 20 guest taps. Food was okay. |
80 /100 The Brass Tap - Allen (Bar) 2540 N WATTERS ROAD STE 180 located in a small strip mall, it is actually quite a large place inside. 50 beers on tap and a decent bottle list. Food menu was pretty large and the usual pub grub. I had 3 local texas pours. Came out to around $14.00. Pretty legit place for a few ticks. |
84 /100 Two Rows Classic Grill, Allen (Restaurant) 711 CENTRAL EXPRESSWAY S. I was impressed by the food and service here. Very kid friendly. Should be reclassified as a restaurant as their "house" beers are brewed by St. Arnolds. Judging from some of the older reviews this is probably a good thing. |
58 /100 Kelly’s at the Village (Bar) 190 STACY RD Nice place for a beer before or after an Allen Americans hockey game or even the rec league. Seating inside and out and the staff has a general knowledge of the brews they serve. There is always something new every time I go in there. Updated in 2015: still have a nice selection of beers but the service is getting worse. |
86 /100 Kelly’s at the Village (Bar) 190 STACY RD Nice place. I like the Palm and Fireman’s 4. |
70 /100 Kelly’s at the Village (Bar) 190 STACY RD Attached to the parking garage across from the Allen Event Center. Nice tap selection and the food was pretty good. Not a great beer bar by any means, but the best beer selection in the village and a nice place to go if you are killing time before going to the Event Center. |
68 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Allen (Restaurant) 190 E. STACY ROAD Not a huge selection of brews but enough to keep me in good supply through dinner. Like Mar said, it was dim in there but they did have the blinds open so I didn’t have to whip out a flashlight. Several options for food. |
64 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Allen (Restaurant) 190 E. STACY ROAD crowded, too dim (used flashlights to look at the menu) standard bj’s food and beer. |
58 /100 BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse - Allen (Restaurant) 190 E. STACY ROAD Typical BJs with the same selection as most other D/FW BJs but this one is close to my lil’ brother’s house in McKinney. They were out of the current seasonal when I went but since it’s a new location I’ll cut ’em some slack. |
88 /100 Market Street (Grocery Store) 985 WEST BETHANY DRIVE I love their selection. No better than Mr G’s down in Plano but saves me a drive. They always have Chimay Tripel, which is useful if you’re looking for that special Yuletide glow... Also Bombardier is much appreciated, or maybe a mix-and-match from US microbreweries. Any place that stocks several Avery brews is special in my book. Staff very helpful, store feel is relaxed and comfortable. Great wine selection with helpful staff, in case we’re allowed to mention that on ratebeer.com... |
54 /100 Two Rows Classic Grill, Allen (Restaurant) 711 CENTRAL EXPRESSWAY S. I think the food is ok. Basic selection of beers with a small selection of their own brews which are simple but tasty. Worth a visit and they have nice drink specials they run. |
56 /100 Two Rows Classic Grill, Allen (Restaurant) 711 CENTRAL EXPRESSWAY S. Went on a Saturday for brunch. Place was almost empty. Our server was excellent, good looking and knew something about beer. Food was very decent, however, the beer and beer selection was only so-so. |
44 /100 Two Rows Classic Grill, Allen (Restaurant) 711 CENTRAL EXPRESSWAY S. Very dark bar, smoking only inside the bar. Took 5 minutes to get both bartenders to notice me (crowd of 5 including myself). They do have their own beer on tap and it’s not the greatest stuff either. |
54 /100 Two Rows Classic Grill, Allen (Restaurant) 711 CENTRAL EXPRESSWAY S. Meh. The bar section of the restaurant was very dark. All the shades drawn and an eerie red glow coming from the beer coolers. Ordered the sampler and tried what they had on tap. It was hard to judge the appearance because of the off colors in the joint. Food was good, had a steak for a decent price. Most of the beer was hum-drum though. |
80 /100 Market Street (Grocery Store) 985 WEST BETHANY DRIVE I shop here every Friday. Good selection of beer, including lots of singles. Nice selection of wines as well. Staff is friendly and always willing to help. |
70 /100 Market Street (Grocery Store) 985 WEST BETHANY DRIVE Typical grocery with some DFH, SA, Full Sail, etc and some less common German beers, Clean store with helpful staff, quite a few singles also |
36 /100 Two Rows Classic Grill, Allen (Restaurant) 711 CENTRAL EXPRESSWAY S. Sat in the bar and had the sampler. All but one beer listed on the ’availability’ board was available. Waitress was nice. Beers was the same stuff I’ve had over and over again but there were two I hadn’t had before. Blech on the beer. The food at the Two Rows in Houston is pretty good I’m assuming the same here but I didn’t eat at this location. |
70 /100 Market Street (Grocery Store) 985 WEST BETHANY DRIVE This is a brand new store that just recently opened. The same decient beer selection that the other Market Streets have, except this one has a very large wine seletion, I think they focus more on that all though I know for a FACT the the people that look over it prefer beer....They are very helpful if they see you (The store is floored out to where their desk has the best view of wine with the beer being on the other side of the wall. |
48 /100 Two Rows Classic Grill, Allen (Restaurant) 711 CENTRAL EXPRESSWAY S. I sat at the (smoking) bar and asked the bartender what Two Rows beers were on tap. She told me none! Evidentially they just started serving beer and had no brews from their own brewery! The tap beers were cheesy! |
30 /100 Two Rows Classic Grill, Allen (Restaurant) 711 CENTRAL EXPRESSWAY S. Classic chain place, less warm than others. When I was there they were not brewing and they were selling mainstream beers (Shiner...). |
18 /100 Two Rows Classic Grill, Allen (Restaurant) 711 CENTRAL EXPRESSWAY S. they do not have any of their own beers at this location. the tas are what you would find at a bennigans plus a paulaner tap. the bartender will put a lemon in it if you don’t watch him, the savage. yuppie trendy mid 30’s crowd that is disturbing, made me think of how to sterilize the whole damn crowd. i will not be back. |
10 /100 Two Rows Classic Grill, Allen (Restaurant) 711 CENTRAL EXPRESSWAY S. The Two Rows beers are no longer brewed here. The beer selection is quite poor now as is everything about this place. |
