Warren Store (Beer Store)

“Finally, the destination of today’s beer trip. Definitely my time of store, a general store through and through, some may be disgusted by its appearance but given my personality, I loved this place and also with the fact that I found Lawson’s Triple Sunshine, uh...hell yeah! Other beers, well, they leave maybe a bit to be desired, but hey, when in Warren, this is where you get the Lawson’s bottles, just saying.“

“List most others, I’ve only been here to grab beer. I have picked up food a few times. the drive to and from warren is really chill and the staff very understanding of the amount of beer geek that come here to buy VT brews. Prepare to be stared at weirdly by the locals that for some reason are still surprised people come here to buy beer after it’s been ’normal’ for 3 years.“

“Not a lot of people know about this place apparently, but it is well worth a visit if you are in the area. It is a funky, woody old bar tucked into the back of a hostel on a quiet stretch of road, and they are not open every night. We were waited on by the owner, who was friendly and loquacious, and poured us some awesome local brews. There was not a lot on tap, but what they had was excellent. We were astonished that the other patrons were drinking scotch and margaritas, and passing up a chance to try some of the finest beers in the land. I got into a long conversation with a guy who goes around checking on distressed properties before the bank seizes them. I am already looking forward to my next visit.“

“Warren store is a little countryside gem, but outside for the odd chance (yet better than almost anywhere else) to catch a few Lawson’s finest bottles available for sale, it’s not really a beer geek paradise. Trust me though, if you’re on the road with your family or a wife who could care less about beer, the stop will be appreciated by all. The surroundings are also very nice with the nearby creek offering nice picturesque viewpoints.“

“Great little spot tucked next to a bridge and a bubbling stream in the heart of Vermont. Old country store with a super friendly owner that likes to chat and talk about just about anything. Picked up some Lawson’s and a few Vermont goodies. Great cheese and baked goods with a boutique shop upstairs to send the wife while shopping the beer and wine selections. Worth stopping in especially if they have some Lawson’s available which I believe is Thursdays around noon.“

“A decent little shop beerwise, and pretty note otherwise as well. Small selection (3-4 bottles) of Lawson’s on my visit, some of which I hadn’t had before, which was nice. If you’re looking for Lawson’s I suppose this is the best place to go. They also have a moderate selection of other New England breweries. Plenty of other reasons to pop in, though: they’ve got lots of good food items and other country store stuff. Worth a visit.“

“This is real Vermont! The primary source of Lawson’s Finest Liquids has so much more going on. Great spot for lunch, classic Vermont country store, wood stove and all. Nice penny candy selection, right of rt 100. Say hi to Phil(the beer guy).“

“My first stop on my recent Vermont trip. GPS got me a tad lost, it thought this place was a trailer, once I figured out what went wrong I went down the road about a mile and found the actual store.

Upon entering I was a bit overwhelmed, there is a TON of stuff packed into this small place. I checked out the front area and upstairs first because I knew once I made it to the beer I would be done for. Lots of different baked goods and treats scattered around the area, I picked up a few for later in my trip. Lots of different clothes upstairs, I almost bought a hat but they didn’t have one that would fit my giant head.

Service was good. I talked to a few of the workers about the shop and the beer and they knew quite a bit about it all. Selection is a little limited but what they have is quite a bit of Lawson’s and since that is the reason all of us stop there that is plenty for me. I picked up a few bottles and got a Lawson’s glass to go along with them. I didn’t try the food but it looked really good, I will definitely try it next time.

Overall a really cool store that I will definitely return to when I am in the area.“

“We stayed at The Pitcher Inn in Warren, which is directly across the street from this place. This is very much what you get from a Vermont country store. I’m pretty sure this is the only store in town so the name is fitting. They sell a little bit of everything; hats, shirts, other clothing, souveniers, cheeses & other food, along with a pretty nice wine selection. I think they even had some jewelry on the second floor. The added bonus, for this site’s purpose at least, is of course the beer selection. This was the only place I could find Lawsons Finest. However, I first went here on Wednesday when we checked in across the street and they were sold out of Lawsons. Fortunately, they get routine deliveries on Thursdays and I was able to grab some on Friday morning. According to the cashier, they usually sell out quickly. The beer stock otherwise is small but they have a pretty good selection of other brewers too: Heady Topper, locals, some Six Point, Green Flash, Stone, Lagunitas, among others. You can also get breakfast or lunch here; it’s setup as sort of a made to order deli. I didn’t eat here but I hear the food is pretty good. A unique and fun place but that’s Vermont.“

“Well off the beaten path, even though it is near Waitsfield. Used to be the only place that you could find Lawson’s Finest Liquids when Sean was still producing smaller amounts of beer. That was what first drew me to this quaint little country store in tiny Warren. A small and pricey beer selection can be found in the old wooden coolers in the back of the store. They have a small eating area where made-to-order sandwiches and breakfast foods can be enjoyed. Lots of Vermont crafts and homemade edibles for sale. Worth a vist just to experience a real VT country store.“

“Went here with my wife and Paul (dickinsonbeer) after our camping trip for the opening of Hill Farmstead in Greensboro Bend en route to a night in Burlington. We stopped in for breakfast and a few bottles of Lawson’s Finest, as it seemed this was one of (or maybe the only) the only places to find their beer. The breakfast was pretty good. I opted for an egg sandwich, while they both went for the pancakes and thick cut bacon and VT maple syrup. Everything was tasty. The place itself is very neat. Eclectic country store with a deli and breakfast area, in store seating, and a wide variety of edibles and other things. Glad we stopped here.“

“This is not really a beery place, but I guess it has to be included since it is pretty much the only store that carries bottles from Lawson’s Finest, that one-man brewery in the village. The hamlet of Warren is truly beautiful with its rushing river, quaint bridge and white church on a hill overlooking the small main street. And this olden mom and pop general-type store fits in perfectly. The sandwiches and wraps they make are pretty good. A great lunch, especially when had on their terrace which overlooks the river. They only had one of Lawson’s beers when we visited, so that was pretty disappointing, but this secluded and very quiet picturesque village made up for the near lack of great beer. I come back every time I’m driving around this picturesque area of Vermont.“
