“This is a really atomoshpheric place in a really interesting old western town with covered wood sidewalks and falsefronts. The whole town at first glimpse is almost Disney perfect, but it turns out to be authentic. Even though it is one of the most picturesque Western towns I have seen, it was not overrun with tourists. The brewpub fits in with the old-timey Western chic and has great beers to boot. The only negative was the service, which was pretty indifferent at bes. Still well worth making this a destination.“

“What an awesome place! Opened at the new location just three weeks prior to our visit, this was a great surprise. Located just a minute or two driving from the town centre, off Hwy 20, this charming little country cider house has 4 of their house ciders on tap, plus more cider and craft beer (and a good selection of beer at that). You can order a 2oz. x 4 flight of their own ciders for just $5 and 5oz. custom flights for a little more. Their house ciders were very good, definitely above average, especially the citra dry hopped one (Howling Wolf). They have food, specializing in sausages, including quite a few vegan sausages, which we were very happy about! Service is extremely warm and friendly. I had a good chat with Edward who is in charge of ordering in the cider and is into the more ambitious and interesting styles of each. Very friendly and kind guy. Overall, an absolute must stop when in town and worth going out of your way for.“

“Charming little place in the tiny little Wild West-looking town of Winthrop. Located along the main street right in the heart of town, Old Schoolhouse is making some great beer in the middle of nowhere. They don’t do flights, which is a downside given how many beers they have on tap and how good they are, but the server was generous and helpful enough to offer me samples of everything I wanted. Food is pretty decent -- we had a nice humus platter. Prices are good. The beer itself was excellent, killing it with their Brewers Reserve series especially. Mandatory stop when in town.“

“The odyssey continued heading north on Hwy 20 after about 10 minutes when we left Twisp we where in the quant little western town called Winthrop. It was cool to see what reminded you of the old west towns you saw on TV. Old bars, shops and a Old red schoolhouse that is now a brewery. The Old Schoolhouse Brewery was next for my adventures and tasting of all things beer. Watch our step you can catch yourself on the door jam on the floor. The old schoolhouse turned bar was awesome looking and had a great feel. The outside seating was overlooking a great view. This is a must stop the food was pub fair and we had plenty to go around. Little ones are welcome so that made it better for us with our little one. We will be back for an extended stay next time. Get our wranglers on and get ready to do some back country hiking and horse back riding. And then to finish it with a growler of IPA, Cream also or even a Cowboy Coffee stout. Thanks for a great time Old Schoolhouse. They just celebrated there first year being open and the brewer is really brewing up some great beers.“

“The food wasn’t bad here and they don’t skimp on the samples and the beer is reasonably priced. The downsides are they only had 5 beers and it wasn’t superb. I went when it was already converted to Old Schoolhouse Brewery but were still serving the last of the Winthrop brew.“

“Loved this place. Definitely a dive....in an old converted school house. Bartender was great, loved that we wanted to do a sampler with all 13 on tap. They had their ’02 Barleywine flowing, which was spectacular. A few locals; a few tourists. Sat at the bar next to a local who had just gotten shot with pellet spray and was drinking the pain off. Worth stopping in for sure. Loved the IPA.“

“Wouldn’t likely re visit. Poor service, not all that clean, Average beers. But I was there many years ago, in the mid 90’s. May be worth another visit.“
