66 /100 6-9 HIGASHI MINATO MACHI, MOJI-KU Mojiko has opened a new restaurant near Kokura Station (12/2020).
They still brew at the old place, but it appears they don't sell beer there now (I may be wrong though, so calling is best). The website has this message:
醸造所ではビールの販売・飲食物のご提供は行っておりません (The brewery does not sell beer or provide food and drink.) |
68 /100 Mojiko Retro Beer (Kokura Station) (Restaurant) 1 CHOME-3-19 KOMEMACHI, KOKURAKITA WARD New branch 5 minutes walk south/southeast of Kokura station, opened December, 2020. Six beers including two seasonals (Red IPA and Topical Weizen). Table charge of ¥500 (not per person), so doesn't make sense to stop in alone for just a pint. Beer prices are quite reasonable, with glasses ¥500 (about 250mls poured in a 330ml glass), and ¥700 (around 400mls in a 500ml mug). Typical brewery-restaurant food, all tasted fine, priced between ¥600-1800. About 6-7 tables that fit 4 each, though they can combine for larger groups. Reservations are recommended for busy times (it was full by 7pm when we were there). |
74 /100 6-9 HIGASHI MINATO MACHI, MOJI-KU Somehow forgot to rate this, visited back in December 2014 on a day trip from Fukuoka. Started on the first floor restaurant with a beer and Genghis Khan barbecue, then moved up to the third floor for a couple more beers and a pizza. Finished up with some takeout bottles. Food and beers were all tasty and service was good, especially at the takeout counter. Nice stop for a meal and beer in a fun little district. |
74 /100 6-9 HIGASHI MINATO MACHI, MOJI-KU Re rate,April/2018-There is new staff at the pub,a much younger group of people.Everybody was much better;professional with good communication skills.
Beers,as always are very good.
For sure,I will now go more often!

The (3) beers were all very good and the prices were very reasonable for Japan!
The manager needs a refresher course in customer service. The wait staff were probably taught by the manager.
I would go back again, but would make plans to go back regularly if others worked there. |
76 /100 6-9 HIGASHI MINATO MACHI, MOJI-KU Really pleasant place in the awesome district of Mojiko (which if you have an interest in Taisho era things is a must visit). The restaurant is very nice, and they also will do take out so you can enjoy the sunset on the pier. Their beers are not outstanding, but very nice and fairly priced. A very pleasant brew-pub experience. |
72 /100 6-9 HIGASHI MINATO MACHI, MOJI-KU A multi-storied brewpub overlooking the straights between Kyushu and Honshu. Ocean view. Good food, including tasty-looking pizzas and a lovely lamb roast Japanese style (Genghis Kahn). Three beers on tap, all home-brewed. The pils and weizen are top quality, the Pale ale also pretty damn good. In the middle of nowhere, beer-wise, but the best around that area. Worth a stop. All-you-can-eat-and-drink specials look like a good deal. |
