| 60 /100 197-4 KAKUDA-SHI “5 minute walk from Kakuda Station. Easier to get to than expected. You should get reservations if you want to go at night. We went for lunch and it wasn’t near full. 4 of their beers on tap, always it seems. Tasting sets 4/ ¥1000, also ¥600 for 400 ml or ¥1800 for 90 minutes of all you can drink. Beers were all decent but nothing mind-blowing. The restaurant has an old bubble-era feel to it, when lots of money was poured into places like this to try to revive the town. Didn’t work, of course. Food was solid but a bit over-priced. Get the ham or sausages, they make them themselves. Service was nice and friendly but don’t expect much English to be spoken. Worth a couple hours’ trip out of Sendai if you are there.“ |
