“First rating, mainly to spite t0rin0. This is the fourth restaurant in this space; originally called The Gem, then Felipe’s, then Don Felix, and now The Pub. The interior is pretty much the same as all previous places, and the draft beer selection has slightly improved. About half macro (Sam, Blue Moon, etc.) and half California macro-craft (Stone, Green Flash, Ballast Point). The biggest difference from the previous joints is the food. When I first read the menu I thought it was way too ambitious, with duck confit, certain pasta preparations, etc. But upon eating, it was done very well. They also have a solid craft cocktail lineup, which I recommend over a beer in this case.“

BJs - Chino HIlls (Restaurant)

“Standard BJs located right off the highway so it may be convenient place to get a deep dish pizza and beer if you are passing through the hills. No better or worse than any other BJs“

“Visited a couple of times while at the Trader Joes next door. It is accurately described as a "half yard house" by some friends that live in the area as it has about half the number of taps that the other locations do. Probably the weakest selection of Yard House locations I’ve been to but it does get some business and Chino/Chino Hills isn’t really a beer mecca. Service is decent. I haven’t eaten here but I generally like the food at Yard House. Tap selection is mediocre like most other locations but less taps also means less Anheuser garbage taking up room.“

“Visited with gobzilla shortly after opening. Large interior with a nice bar and a lot of taps, most of which are actually guest beers. They were having some special for late night happy hour that applied only to IPAs. Strange concept I thought but a nice one. They have all the standard BJ’s beers including the 750s. Didn’t try the food but I haven’t been to a BJ’s that made food any different than the rest so I can only assume it’s pretty good if you get the deep dish. I’ve been scrolling past this location but now that I’m in Riverslime I might stop in here every once in a while to check out the new seasonal IPA.“

Party House Liquor (Beer Store)
4060 CHINO HILLS PKWY
“Visited August 29, 2013.

I had heard about this place a number of times over the years but never actually stopped in. It was about time I did because they have some pretty cool stuff. It is a cramped little liquor store but they have a bunch of Anchorage, Bruery, AleSmith, and a number of others. Prices were about right for a liquor store (high but not any higher than any other liquor store). Service was pretty nice though I didn’t ask for any help and he was busy talking to another customer but he did make some suggestions when I went to pay. I didnt realize that this place was right next to Scumrocks. I’ve actualy been in this shopping center a dozen times and just never noticed this place.“

“It was pretty huge when this place opened because it was far and away the best selection of beer (and alcohol in general) in the area. While others have caught up a bit, still a solid selection, and they seem to have put some effort into making one or two beer aisles focused on California beer. Last I know they had two guys on staff that were pretty knowledgeable about beer, and you can get some decent deals with the club card.“

“This is a Yard House "Grill" or however they phrase it, basically a half-sized version. The food is solid, not amazing. The beer list is big but underwhelming as it is dominated by macro stuff, and for some reason the franchise doesn’t attempt to put locally made craft beer on the list, which would be nice. Anyway, nice decor and decent service.“

“As my colleague mentioned, you pretty much know what you’re going to get at any BJ’s. The usual house beers on tap, but this one rarely has any of the Belgian bottles on the menu. The value lies in the lunch and late night Happy Hours.“

Party House Liquor (Beer Store)
4060 CHINO HILLS PKWY
“The OG liquor store in Chino Hills, this place has come a long way in terms of craft beer selection. You can find pretty much everything Stone distributes, and some nice anniversary/special releases from other breweries. Prices are a bit high, but friendly staff. Major bonus points because you can buy the Daily Racing Form here.“

“Visited numerous times since early 2006.

Of the dozen or so bevmos I’ve been to this is I think the 2nd best. They have 4 aisles of beer (including the section dedicated to thr big breweries). I can always find something that I want and something that I haven’t had before. My only problem with their selection is that they don’t really specialize in any one type of beer, they just have a little of everything.

The service is pretty good. They always try to help and they usually don’t leave you standing around looking confused for long. The only catch is that most of them don’t know much about beer. They leave all the purchasing to the one beer guy and he really only knows what hes tried at the store. But aside from that everyone there is pretty helpful.

If you are looking for something specific, ask someone to look it up in the computer because sometimes they can order stuff that they don’t normally carry.“

“Typical BJ’s location in Chino Hills. The same house beers on as everywhere, same food as everywhere, same prices... The service is decent. If you’ve been one BJ’s, you’ve been to them all.“

“Nice location in a pretty new shopping center in Chino Hills. Maybe a little smaller than some others. Large interior, well kept and decorated. A small patio area out front. Beer list is pretty standard Yard House stuff, but not bad at all, particularly for the area. Food is of course expensive, but enjoyable.“

“(Visited 03/2009): This Yardhouse location is in the Shoppes at Chino Hills plaza in Chino Hills a few miles off I-10. Parking is fairly abundant in the surrounding area. The interior is spacious with lots of plants and artwork on the walls, and a dark wood/stone motif. The bar is in the center with table seating all around it. Fairly open view of the hustle and bustle of the kitchen as well. Yardhouse has nearly 50 taps with brews from Stone, Lost Coast, Rogue, Kona, New Belgium and others domestically. As for imports there is Chimay, Leffe, Kronenbourg, Spaten etc. There were very few bottled beers on the menu (mostly NA beers). Service on a weekday evening was good at the bar. The bartenders all assisted with beer and food as needed. Speaking of the food, my rotisserie chicken and mashed potatoes was good. Overall this place is definitely worth checking out in the Chino/Chino Hills area.“

“I first started going to BevMo when I got into craft beer as it was the only place my friends and I knew of that had a good selection. The staff has generally been friendly. I was used to just walking in a being greeted kindly. However, recently they have begun to be rather aggressive as far as carding people immediately upon entry. This isn’t a problem for me, but since I have been without a car for awhile, I sometimes have to get a ride with a roommate or friend who isn’t 21. They do not seem to care or understand this. That’s a big knock, in my opinion, as I’ve never had this problem at other stores. The selection is pretty good, definitely a lot better than you can find most other places in the area. Decent mix of American craft and imports. A better wine selection, though. Overall, if you don’t know of any other places to buy beer in the area, you should stop here.“

“One of your smaller Yard House restaurants. Its beer selection is smaller as well. Overall, an okay place with okay value. A simpler version of the Yard House chain restaurants.“

“Your typical bevmo store. Lots of selection including your average big beer producers. I especially like the selection of craft brews but sometimes pay for the beer. Overall okay place, just like every other bevmo.“
