66 /100 422 S MAIN ST Old, small storefront downtown. Street parking is free. Simple and rustic feel, with a small bar and a few tables. The bar was packed with regulars with their mugs, which is a testament. The bartender was quick and friendly. The tap list is small but varied. What I had was lackluster, though. Fun little stop, and clearly a favorite with locals. |
78 /100 422 S MAIN ST Newish place, in an old storefront I believe. Small tasting bar and some tables. Solid beer, friendly staff. No food. Worth a stop. Good competition for the two other breweries in town. |
60 /100 604 BROADWAY ST Definitely an old school place. Long bar with some stools, but mainly it's a restaurant. Beers had a handful of faults, and so did the food. Not my favorite place in town. |
54 /100 Liquor Depot (Beer Store) 2201 FOOTHILL BLVD 1 cooler of singles, the rest is either 6 or 12 packs. They did have a rack full of 12oz Avery bottles. Not the best selection but decent. Friendly service. |
40 /100 744 PILOT BUTTE AVE This is NOT a beer destination. Usual Mexican beers & bud.
The food and service is good. |
60 /100 604 BROADWAY ST This is your typical, old-school brewpub in sleepy downtown Rock Springs. It's very "historic brick building" feeling. Service was super friendly and efficient. The food menu was kind of eclectic considering everything and well executed. The beer menu was pretty safe and quality varied widely. I had a fairly tasty Scottish ale followed by a coffee stout that was a touch sour and a little thin. Prices are a little higher than the other breweries and restaurants we visited in Rock Springs. |
62 /100 604 BROADWAY ST Stopped in on the way to Laramie. The place is attractive and spacious with seating around their stainless vats. Very friendly staff. They only had 4 beers on draft -- A Beer Named Bob was quite decent. The others were pretty mediocre. |
72 /100 604 BROADWAY ST We were driving through on our way home to Indiana from Utah, and this spot had easy access from I-80. Nice open, bright and clean atmosphere. It wasn’t busy, and we got great service. My husband and I split a burger, which hit the spot. Decent selection of solid beers. Overall, a pleasant experience, and a nice way to stretch our legs on our way through. |
70 /100 604 BROADWAY ST I found this to be standard brew pub, open rafters with wood trusses, brick. I did enjoy the use of space with their brewing equipment. The beer is solid, nothing mind blowing, but I did not footbalm any of them. The food is about the same quality, not terrible. A worthwhile stop in Rick Springs. |
84 /100 Liquor Depot (Beer Store) 2201 FOOTHILL BLVD I recently moved to Rock Springs and was really happy to see somthing more there than whatever I could find at a gas station. This place has a good amount of sixpacks from the usuals of the area and some mix twelves (odell, big sky, new b, avery, etc.) And I was very happy to see a large supply of bombers and 750’s (odell, teton, lagunitas, avery, boulevard, etc.) There didn’t seem to be a large amount of special imports other than Chimay (I do have a craving for trappist brews and the like.) But what I was extremely giddy about was the Growler Station. I come from an area saturated with bottle shops (so I love a large selection) but I’ve never been close to a store that fills growlers, and they keep the good stuff on tap for a very good price. the week I moved in they had Odell Meddler, and 3 lips of faith beers, as well as Guiness and Blue Moon Winter Abby and a local I wasn’t familiar with.
All in all, I am very happy with this store and I no longer fear moving to SW Wyoming, I know they will take care of me. The staff, though not really knowledgeable, is super freindly and helpful. I am from North Texas where I can find just about anything available in TX, so I am used to a very large selection, but I think there is enough here to keep me satisfied. |
82 /100 604 BROADWAY ST I think if this place were anywhere else, I would not rate it so highly, but the fact is that this is a beacon in a sea of Wyoming dread. The fact this has survived all these years (I came for the first time in 2006) is somewhat of a miracle. Not because they’re bad and shouldn’t be open, but because Rock Springs is the sort of town where you look for a brewpub and find that there was one, once upon a time, that closed after just a couple of years. Towns like this can rarely sustain brewpubs of any quality, let alone something that’s actually good.
And I’ve always thought they were good. I remember walking all those years ago thinking "This is going to be bad" and just being pleasantly surprised with the place. The beer is actually pretty good. It doesn’t necessarily hold up to, say, the beer you get in northern Colorado, but you’re in freakin’ Wyoming. And not just Wyoming, but middle-of-no-where, wind-always-blowing, I-would-have-shot-the-buffalo-too-because-there’s-nothing-to-do Wyoming. I’m sure there are a number of people who feel they owe their life to this place after the drive from Cheyenne.
For the beer, I remember the porter well and that I really enjoyed it. The place is a nice balance between a restaurant and a bar, with the bar not too small and the tables not too close in to make you feel weird at the bar. Bonus points for being in Downtown Rock Springs and serving what seems to be decent food in an area that has anything but. My opinion of Rock Springs is very much boosted by this place, and I tell people traveling through here that they should absolutely stop. It’s not must-stop beer, but you’ll need a beer by that point. Wyoming does this to people... |
70 /100 604 BROADWAY ST Headed to Salt Lake on the road from Oklahoma and found this little place. Stopped in between 2-3 on a Monday afternoon and we were possibly the only table but some patrons were at the bar. Nice clean stainless brew kettles on display, pretty quaint. Our server was very nice and focused on us. I had the chicken and mushroom linguine in chicken broth and it totally hit the spot. My wife had some French onion soup and she thought it was ok, but considering it’s in Rock Springs, I was not disappointed. Root beer is available and delicious. I took a growler of the Wee Bastard to my friends in Salt Lake (homebrewers with fine taste) and it was their favorite, even considering the many I’ve brought from some of my favorite Colorado brewers over the years. Nice staff. |
60 /100 604 BROADWAY ST stopped by on 7/21/10.
quaint old town location and laid back vibe. too laid back it seems since the service was atrocious. interesting decor and exposed... well, everything. six beers on tap were pretty good all around. decent enough food. |
84 /100 604 BROADWAY ST I live here in Rock Springs and alittle partial to the brew pub and enjoy coming here. I always enjoy the atmosphere. I usually sit at the bar, always receive great service. My favorite beer is "A Beer Named Bob". Great taste!! The food is very good, never had a bad meal. My only criticism is they do need to have more brews available instead of five. Overall the "Bitter Creek Brewing Company" is my favorite spot to go in this city. |
74 /100 604 BROADWAY ST Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area. The food is above average and the beer is close behind. |
70 /100 604 BROADWAY ST I’ve stopped here several times. Nice little brewpub, service is OK but not great. The beer is good, food is average. A nice place to stop, get out and stretch, have a beer and some food while traveling I-80. |
84 /100 604 BROADWAY ST What a nice surprise in the middle of Wyoming. Went in expecting cowboys Rednecks, a crusty old "Bud" and threatening sound of "Dueling Banjoes" iin the background. Not in the least!. Well lit, but mellow, nice woodwork and a very comfortable atmosphere. Great beer selection and a friendly staff allthough they seemed a little shorthanded for all the tables and as busy as it was. Still great service though. Go for the Wee Bastard scotish Ale. The appetizer sampler was top notch and the cocnut shrimp a welcomed surprise.
Not the easiest to find, we happened upon it by chance while looking for the coffee/bike shop combo next door. Definitely the coolest street in Rock Springs.

60 /100 Liquor Depot (Beer Store) 2201 FOOTHILL BLVD Another store that is probably really nice to have in an area such as southwest Wyoming, but for folks from more beer-rich places it’s not really that impressive. Looks like they have good turnover, and the walk-in cooler is nice. Some singles, bombers and 750s available, but the only thing I could find that I had not tried before was a vienna from Snake River. Easy to find (and see) from the freeway. |
76 /100 604 BROADWAY ST The service is instantly friendly and with a smile. Beer is fairly ambitious - a red, a pale, a sweet stout, a porter, a scotch and menu space for fruit, experimental and Shandy options. Seems like they know what they’re doing. Setup is nice - cozy, but not enclosed (I prefer enclosed drinking, hence the 4/5 on ambiance). I intend to go back within the month. So far, the highlight of Rock Springs. |
56 /100 604 BROADWAY ST Stopped here last night (Friday). Brightly lit standard brewpub, and with it being a Friday, the place had maybe 15-20 people there. We sat down at a table and were all but ignored for 5 minutes until I went to the bar. A waitress asked if we were there for food, and I said nope, just some beer. Her reply was OK good, because the kitchen is closed, and proceeded to walk away. A few minutes later a local yelled at the bartender to give us a beer, which she did. Bob’s is clearly their best beer, though they were out of ~4 of their regular beers (Deja vu with Old Capitol Brew Works, anyone?) That said, nothing stand out here, but I got my first Wyoming rating! As iABUSEDGOAT/i stated, it was kind of a pain in the ass to get toluckily we had GPS. |
76 /100 Liquor Depot (Beer Store) 2201 FOOTHILL BLVD If in the area, absolutely come on by. Looks like a liquor store should - large, open, glittering glass everywhere complete with walk-in cooler! Nice selection of Big Sky, Ft Collins, New Belgium and Boulder Brewing. I would have liked to see more of Snake River. |
84 /100 Liquor Depot (Beer Store) 2201 FOOTHILL BLVD Fantastic selection of local and regional beers. This place was right off the expressway and a perfect find for me, driving through and needing a place to get dozens of new and rare (for me) beers. Local ratebeerians might have seen all of this already but I was very impressed by their cooler selection as well as their warm shelf. What a find. |
62 /100 604 BROADWAY ST Was driving across the country and saw a sign for this place on I80. Not super easy to find, but not hard either... about 5-10 minutes off the exit. Ambiance is typical brewpub, they even let me in 10 minutes before opening. Selection cookie cutter brewpub stuff. Mostly decent, nothing great or interesting. Worth the stop because it’s a brewpub in a region that’s dominated by BMC. Food was a burger, nothing special or exciting. Overall worth the stop only because it was a brewpub in Wyoming haha. |
42 /100 604 BROADWAY ST Colorado Road Trip – 2006
After trying to find this place for 30 minutes we finally found it. The roads where messed up so it was hard to find. The staff on the other hand had not a clue about the beer and where slow as ever. I realize we have choices but in Rock Springs not many. The place was nice but hard to see the PBR miners get into this type of beer. I would stop and see it if in Rock Springs, but if you can get somewhere else keep on going.

56 /100 604 BROADWAY ST This place was a pain in the ass to find! This town is all town up with construction and the main brdige through town is town completely down. So after getting in lost in downtown Rock Springs, I finally came across this place. I should have kept driving. The staff did not know anything about the beers, and could not tell me about the styles. Did not try the food. |
70 /100 604 BROADWAY ST This place almost seems out of place for Wyoming very clean and modern yet comfortable. The service was great {at least at tyhe bar}. The selection of beers is’nt great about 5 beers but they only serve their own beers and this is Wyoming after all. The food I’ve really enjoyed. After visiting 5 times I’ve never been dissapointed. Overall if your crossing Wyoming don’t pass this place up. |
60 /100 604 BROADWAY ST July 2000: Surprising place for a relatively small town. Attractive brick-festooned space. I didn’t eat. I’d go back if I were in the area. |
50 /100 604 BROADWAY ST Decent place, trying to be touristy and upscale I guess. Bartender couldn’t tell me a damn thing, confusing beer names, styles, and confusing the guest tap. I had to ask her a number of times to sort things out and she was getting pissed. Oh well. |
