Pecks Farm Shop (Grocery Store)
STOCKWELL FARM
“Medium-sized farm shop on the edge of Leighton Buzzard. It's oddly split over two buildings - the shed next to the car park has the fresh goods, whilst "The Barn" at the back right had packaged goods (including the beer) and some homemakery gifty type things - you have to take stuff from the barn back to the shed to pay, which felt odd as it forced you back against the Covid one way system. There were about 30 mostly local brews available, with large ranges from Leighton Buzzard brewery, Mad Squirrel and Saxby, along with a few products from other producers (I think Hornes was one of them). Alcohol and fresh stuff aside, many of the other products were nationally rather locally sourced which was a shame. The service was efficient, if not quite of the warm chatty type you normally get in farm shops. Overall it felt like a venture that was sadly fading a little - clearly money has been spent on the Barn, but not enough to get the café which draws punters into such places. I hope it survives and grows, but at present I wouldn't go out of my way to visit (although I would probably pop in if I was ever passing again).“
