“This place had off opening times at one point, only opening on a Friday evening due to a lack of trade. And as it is in a small hamlet I guess it has to rely on its reputation for food - the fact that it's now open daily suggest that the current owners who introduced the brew pub are starting to turn things around. A large building that looks as much like a farmhouse that a pub. Inside it's open and more modern. The beers options consisted of Saviour's 3 core and 1 seasonal offerings (only 2 on) and then macro kegs. Quiet on a Friday lunchtime - 4 older woman our for lunch and two guys in overalls who had obviously been coming in regularly as the woman running the place knew what they'd want. Got the impression that the couple who the place have taken over the pub since retirement. The husband actually trained either the guy who set up West Berks Brewery but didn't go into brewing until more recently. She was very helpful and told me about the brewery. I could also hear her go if detailed explanations regarding the menu to the diners. in fact if I came here again it would be to sample the food rather than the beer.“
