54 /100 TINGEWICK ROAD,

I visited here on Friday 27th November 2015. This place is situated on the outskirts of town on the Bicester side of town on the A421 it is on the LH side as you are exiting Buckingham. It is quite amazing that until now Buckingham the place which clearly gave its name to this county had not a singles representation on the places section here? That must be a first I should imagine. Anyway this is a largish place with a good sized car park, it’s easy to find with a large unattractive fence and gates at the entrance giving it away. However first things first this is a garden centre it isn’t a beer destination; I went there to pick up a drink on my way back towards Bicester.

I didn’t really take an awful lot of notice of the layout, though I am guessing from the short time I was in here everything will be found in its own little section/area and so it was with the beer and cider selection which could be found off to the RH side after you enter the store.

The beer selection was small and only really interesting for those keen to pick up local beers that they might not have had before. So for people keen to add to their Northants/Bucks or Beds selections they had the following

Hornes from Bow Brickhill, nr Woburn on the Bucks Beds borders

Vale from Brill, Bucks.

Concrete Cow, Milton Keynes

Gundog, Woodford Halse, Northants,

Towcester Mill, Towcester, Northants,

Silverstone from Syresham, Northants.

Cottage Delight were clearly not quite so local (Staffs I think) but there must have been about 15 of their beers amongst the 30-40 on offer.

So whilst not a brilliantly exciting choice at least the focus was on supporting local breweries and the prices seemed reasonable, there was also an additional selection which appeared to be almost beers brewed by Cottage Delight and many with lousy or tacky names. All in all ok but don’t make a special effort. “
