58 /100 Flying Pig (Restaurant) RAYRIGG ROAD At the end of the main road into Bowness from Windermere before it hits a junction in the town centre, this restaurant and bar offers up something different through its souped-up traditional modern design, with perhaps something worthwhile offered up on one of its cask pumps too, but might be hit or miss. There's outdoor seating too, which is pretty key in this area, albeit close to the road in this case. |
40 /100 Flying Pig (Restaurant) RAYRIGG ROAD Very busy pub when visited, the food was the best part of the experience, the service at the bar and in bringing the food was poor. Available was 4 pumps and one of them was not being used.

54 /100 Bodega Bar (Bar) ASH STREET, A tapas bar that does food upstairs and cocktails wine and a few craft beers downstairs. It has a comforrtable wine bar style decor and atmosphere. The ’world beer’ menu is pretty disappointing really. It’s mostly a collection of lagers from around the globe, but there is the odd Beglian and US beer for the more discerning drinker. There’s a couple of local beers on offer too. Not great, but probably the best bet in the Windermere area for anyone loking for more than a pint of local bitter. |
54 /100 LOWSIDE Nice traditional boozer selling four Robinsons beers on handpump. A cosy enough pub with open fire and candles on the tables, but not much of interest when it comes to beer. |
72 /100 LOWSIDE Visited new Years day 2015 for a drink after a long drive from edinburgh through rain. Pub was full of locals and tourists. Robinsons beer on taps. Good ambiance, good atmosphere and nice staff. Food was decent, we had 2 curries and some beers. LIke a lot of other English opubs they offer a sample bat from 4 tap-beers. |
70 /100 LOWSIDE Nice old pub, Robinson’s beers on tap. |
56 /100 Angel Inn (Bar) HELM ROAD Has a few local ales on tap. Food is meant to be good. Nice location. |
