74 /100 STOKELEY BARTON At the end of the Stokely Farm Shop area is the South Hams Brewery with its brewery tap. Lot of outdoor seating draws you in, the taphouse is on the left. The brewery is at the far end of the shed, the bar right in front of you. There is a good range of South Hams beers on sale plus some well known multi national brands. For some reason they don't accredit the brewery on their beer boards which makes matters slightly confusing. Good chatty service, it's a very decent place to be on a Friday evening. |
68 /100 Stokeley Farm Shop & South Hams Taproom (Grocery Store) STOKELEY BARTON FARM, Interesting farm shop, cafe & taphouse just 1/2 a mile from Slapton Sands historical world war 2 beach. It was before noon, to early for me to sample the taphouse, but noticed it had a number of brews on the wall above the bar. Cafe was good for food & they had a couple of there bottles in the farmshop. Happy to return next time I'm in Devon |
50 /100 Stokeley Farm Shop & South Hams Taproom (Grocery Store) STOKELEY BARTON FARM, Previously a place where you could purchase the South Hams brews in bottle form, it is now complimented by the Taphouse for brewery in the same complex area. You can still purchase the bottles in here, which is still relevant as it's hard to access this place without a car, so you might not be able to go through everything you want to at the bar. There's a few local ciders available too. |
64 /100 STOKELEY BARTON New addition across from the Stokeley Farm Shop where you can buy their bottled beers. This is the brewery, but the first part of the building has been turned into tap room with 16 options - about half a dozen of their own, and cider and macro options seem to dominate the rest at the time of writing, nor no taster pallet or thirds, which I only mention as you pretty much have to have a car to get to this place so you can't drink too much when there. Inside there's a few tables and chairs (and a sofa), with just as many outside in the shared space with the farm shop cafe. It's a pleasant place and seemed to do being well from the tourist crowd on the Saturday afternoon of my visit. |
60 /100 Stokeley Farm Shop & South Hams Taproom (Grocery Store) STOKELEY BARTON FARM, Nice little place on the A379 just inland from Slapton Sands, accessed up a long driveway. It's a medium-sized farm shop cum deli with lots of local produce, a (very) small garden centre, a tractor for the kids to climb on, and a cafe. About 10 South Hams bottles on offer in the shop including their limited edition stronger "craft" range. There were some ciders, possibly from Hunts & Ashridge, although I wouldn't swear to that. Didn't try the cafe, although apparently it's very nice & has South Hams beers on draft. Friendly enough, worth a stop if you're passing. |
62 /100 Stokeley Farm Shop & South Hams Taproom (Grocery Store) STOKELEY BARTON FARM, Visited on Wednesday 27/04/16 after a pub lunch nearby. Standard farm shop affair, meats, cheeses etc etc but with the added bonus that the South Hams Brewery is on the grounds of the adjacent farm therefore they sell their beers here. 7 different bottles on offer at the very reasonable price of £1.99 or 6 for £10 ! As well as the South Hams beers there were a number of local Devon ciders on offer to ... I didn’t pay too much attention to this but at least 3. Well worth popping by to acquire some cheap rates from a small brewery.
