“Go-to place for beer at Stansted airport. Big place, very crowded at 7pm. Some cask ales, macro lagers on tap. Soem bottles. Nothing special. I had a Adnams Mosaic Pale Ale which was quite pleasant. Ordered a bowl of fries, solid but definitely enough for the price.“

“Nice pub wich we visited for breakfast and a few final beers before the plane home. Just 1 cask ale we havent had out of the 5 on, but we found a few bottles/can to help kill the time before the flight. Good service, fair prices to. Even the meal we had was decent for an airpiort meal.“

“Packed and throbbing even at 5am. Very bad queuing protocol followed, presumably by untrained Johnnie foreigner, (and staff don’t care about such matters either, but then again, they’re probably Johnnie foreigner too), so keep alert. I do like the internal windmill design, but this really isn’t a place you go to take in the view, it’s a place you go because you have no choice. No choice also describes the beer list - only the most boring of the regular real ales, and the pissiest of the keg swill, were available, but fortunately there were a few bottles that kept things interesting, at least that one visit. Prices seem slightly gouged, at least for food, not the chain-wide prices at all. Be warned - they apparently don’t have a loo. Well, I’ll look at the bottle list again, just on the off-chance kraft brewers accidentally forget to ever brew a repeat batch of anything lest their quality control be called into question.“

“Where better to await your gate number than sat in a ’Spoons? Has a less than average (for JDW) number of ales on tap but is supplemented with a reasonable number of bottles. Can get busy, unsurprisingly. Upstairs tends to be quieter. Food is quite decent and quick, just what you need prior to a flight. Updated 16/6/2018. Pour selection of mainstream cask and keg beers and boring bottle selection. Really gone backwards on beer choice since previous visits.“

“Bacon Butty and a pint of cask ale for breakfast on 20th Jan 2016. Impressed with the place, spacious, clean and heavily staffed. Modern design and pleasing on the eye. We stayed downstairs but above us was another bar and more tables, etc. Relaxed and friendly staff, a good experience all round.“

“Visited on December 10th 2015. The place has been upgraded a bit since my last visit. Much more modern with new Spoons decor and an upstairs section with a bar too. Has a fake windmill in it too! Service was good. Cask beer range disappointing with only macro brews on offer. Typical airport prices but handy whilst waiting boarding.“

“Place was packed, we barely managed to find a place to sit down. Lots of stag parties. Selection is usual for Wetherspoon airport venues. Found one interesting cask. Food was edible.“

“Visited several times, latest august 2015, after it got it´s new look, which for sure have improved the place. Rather cosy, large pub, thats give you associations of travelling. Being an airport pub it is very busy. Traditionel JDW menu, OK selection on the beers, served in good condition. Nice place to relax before departure..“

“Dimly lit cave in the corner of the departures hall. The service is clueless but efficient, selection is sort of ok, but if you have been through the Wetherspoon selection already there is nothing new here. Airports are horrible places, Stansted in particular, but at least this place has beer.“

“Visited this pub several times when flying out of Stansted. It has never ever been big enough for the amount of people using it at any of these times. It’s a fairly simple Wetherspoon affair but given it’s a pub in a cramped airport terminal this is to be expected. The only disappointment I’ve had here is hoping to get the Thursday Curry&drink offer only to realise they were excluded from airport locations after reaching the pub.“

“Airport pub.Nice to have a Goose Island IPA and a Punk IPA while waiting for your flight. Apart from that nothing remarkable. Service not so good. I had two bottles and had to ask twice for glasses.“

“Big airside pub. The service wasn’t good but at least the food was served very quickly. They had three rare cask ales with less than 20 ratings on at my visit. All three dishes were boring.“

“Visisted on a number of time prior to an early ’our ladys air’ excursion to Deutschland. Typical airport spoons awash with ill informed travellers (once a year brigade) who seem to think this is some form of coffee shop/patisserie. NO - its supposed to be a fucking pub !!! Beer range is pretty OK for an airside spoons - I’ve often picked up a new tick here over the years. Value the 06.00 Real ! Service is usual shite spoons but ’airport worse’ - form an orderly queue mugs !!!“

“Wetherspoons bar airside at Stansted Airport. Atmosphere as expected for a place like this. Beer well cared for, standard Wetherspoons food menu, good service but annoying prices - 50% higher than a High Street branch. At least you can get a quality pint before you get on your plane.“
