42 /100 Falcon (Bar) LINGFIELD CRESCENT A Harvester restaurant and pub just by Falconwood station. There’s not much to recommend it for beer lovers - mainly macros and Sharps (Doom Bar and Atlantic) - but we were returning from a service at the crematorium just across the road and, as there’s little else within striking distance without going into Eltham, had to make do.

78 /100 Rusty Bucket (Bar) 11 COURT YARD New micropub. Three or four casks but a good keg and can/bottle selection. Mainly UK based. Good place. |
78 /100 Rusty Bucket (Bar) 11 COURT YARD New Micropub/bar opened in the former Crown pub. Very good choice of keg (10 lines) and 3 cask plus a healthy selection of cans and bottles in the fridge. Nice, easy going atmos. Helpful, friendly and of course knowledgeable staff. As I'm very often in Eltham (work in the sorting office a few doors away!) this will definitely be a must visit venue from now on. |
70 /100 Long Pond (Bar) 110 WESTMOUNT RD Visited on Wednesday 27th January 2016. Last stop on Bexley Micropub crawl. Situated around 5 minutes walk from Eltham station this is a 2 roomed micropub. 6 beers on tap, has a house beer from Tonbridge brewery and a good range of guests from the local area.
Beers we had in good condition, prices were £3.20 to £3.60 a pint. Service friendly. Place was popular but got a table. Really nice feel to the place and definitely the best of the 4 micropubs currently in the area. Think Eltham is a bit of a beer desert so this is a welcome oasis! |
74 /100 Eltham Wines (Beer Store) 67 WELL HALL ROAD A great find among the standard offerings in the local area and unusual for this part of town. Some quite rare stuff turns up here and the selection is getting bigger and better all the time with some interesting collabs and full ranges now from Thornbridge, De Haalve Maan and others. The owners are really helpful and enthusiastic and I just hope that there are enough punters to keep this rolling! |
84 /100 Eltham Wines (Beer Store) 67 WELL HALL ROAD Extremely handy enterprising offie in an area bereft of anywhere interesting to buy decent bottles of beer. Nice Belgian selection, all the Rocheforts are in there, good UK choice too. Basic but very good selection. Handy diversion away from the delights of Eltham High Street. Update: went back there on 17/10/2015 and the range is ever expanding with the new addition of Italian craft beers and lots more UK/Belgian/German/US choices. Can see this place getting better and better. Also the owner is happy to source any beer suggestions from customers. Excellent improvements all round. *Update 21/3/19. Selection has improved a thousand fold, guaranteed dedicated geeks and tickers will find something of interest here. Friendly, knowledgeable owner who's more than happy to guide you round the shelves and has a genuine passion for bringing eclectic and interesting brews in. One of the two main bottle shops I regularly visit. Thoroughly recommended. |
