“A lovely old pub interior with lots of etched glass and mirrors but not, unfortunately, the most exciting beer selection. It’s a Taylor Walker pub and they have five hand pumps. (Visited 3 December 2013).“

“Surprisingly nice pub for this very touristy location on Knightsbridge. Pool table in the basement. Unconvincing selection of Real Ales, about 10 taps, probably 3 casks.“

Harvey Nichols (Beer Store)

“Harvey Nich’s carries a pretty modest selection. There’s about 25 beers available. Options included Redwillow & Brewdog, so what they do carry is pretty solid. Prices are average considering the location. Interestingly, Harvey Nich’s carries a pretty impressive selection of whiskey, so make sure to have a look at their spirit selection if you’re in the mood to spend money.“

“Brilliant food especially Burgers. Not too many places in London to get food this good with few decent keg beers so worth a visit - Though its very very expensive.“

“A small selection of beers, found in the Wine Shop on the top floor. Less than 20 beers on my visit and nothing too exciting. The Icelandic beers you can get here are pretty good, though also pretty common now in London. Prices are average for London. Only worth visiting if you’re in Harvey Nichols.“

Bar Boulud (Restaurant)

“UPDATE: This place now features ice cider on their digestif drinks menu. Awesome.

Original review: Bar Boulud is a restaurant and bar located in the basement of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Knightsbridge. The restaurant is part of a chain of brasseries by celebrity chef Daniel Boulud that emphasize well-executed comfort food served in a casual setting. The service is excellent, you get the feeling that the place is almost overstaffed. The food is very good. Make no mistake, the food and drink is expensive, but it’s of great quality. Half pints will run you north of £4, burgers with chips cost about £15. But one can’t really come here and complain about the prices; after all, you’re eating at a hotel restaurant in the middle of Knightsbridge. The beer options are pretty interesting by London restaurant standards. There’s about 8 taps and 8 bottles on offer. Tap options include Punk IPA and Duchesse De Bourgogne. Bottle options are also somewhat interesting (Brooklyn Chocolate Stout and beers from Redchurch were available on my last visit). The food is great, simple brasserie fare. I highly recommend trying some of their homemade charcuterie. The burgers are also tasty. While I understand that American fine dining has embraced craft beer, this isn’t the case in London. This is one of the few high-profile dining experiences in London that offers decent beer. Bar Boulud is a place that I heartily recommend, especially if someone else is paying.“

Harvey Nichols (Beer Store)

“Large premium department store located right next to Knightsbridge tube station. I much prefer the shopping experience in here compared to Harrods - much less sweaty tourists dragging their extended family members around the store. The modest beer selection is located on the top floor in the Wine Shop. I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised with the selection of interesting international brews, which were about 25 in number. Highlights include Orval and some obscure Icelandic microbrews. Definitely worth popping in if you’re in the area.“
