“Historic pub in North Manchester which is a wonderful example of public house architecture from the late 19th Century. Obviously the interior has changed since then, but the grandeur of the place can still be imagined in this multi-room venue. The bar itself is in the middle of the pub and offers up a couple of regular Joseph Holt ales on cask and keg. Unless you specifically make a trip to see this pub you're unlikely to stumble on it by accident, it's in the middle of a council estate in a deprived area of the city and there are no main roads close to it. If you do make it here it's friendly enough though. You might also want to watch live sport here and the games room with television is first on the left when you enter.“

“A real community pub full of character and friendly locals. An imposing Victorian Gothic building it is a multi roomed pub with a large horseshoe bar and etched glass panels. Serving only 2 Holts beers we were fine with the Bitter, but some did not rate the Mild. Large outside seating area at the rear.“
