58 /100 71 BURY OLD ROAD
“One of several Holt’s pubs on the same road and straddles the border between Prestwich and Whitefield. It’s close to the motorway and junction, although it’s a roundabout way to actually reach it from it. This pub is in its own building with a central doorway that leads into a hall area where the bar is located against the back wall. Emanating from here are four rooms, some of which are period styled and some are busier than others depending on what’s happening. Football is shown here so where screens exist these places get more packed at these times. The beers are from the Holt’s brewery that own in and include cask, keg and bottled options. It’s a decent option if you want to couple it with a visit to the Liquor Shop across the road and its fine selection of bottled beers and ales.“

60 /100 BURY OLD ROAD
“Just off the M62, you’ll need to traverse a couple of the local A-roads before finding this prominent large detached pub building with an extensive car park and outdoor area at its rear, however it’s worth seeking out if you enjoy Holts ales as it does not disappoint. There’s two main rooms on the ground floor although depending on how busy the place is the larger of the two may be the only one open. Here you can sample cask, keg and a full range of bottles from the Manchester brewer. To compliment this you’ll be sat in pseudo period style rooms with wood paneling akin to a stately home also with original stone fireplaces. There is a small third room too also decked out like this. Live football is shown here which is a popular past time for the friendly crowd frequenting here.“

“The pub of choice for Joseph Holt ales in Whitefield. It’s hard to miss this pub just before a road junction with lights on the way to Bury from the M60 - it’s in its own red-brick building with space on either side of it. It has two large rooms to frequent on the left and right-hand side of the building with the service area sandwiched between both selling a very full range of the brewers ales in all forms. Live football is shown here in both sides.“
