64 /100 32-33 THE BOARDWALK, PORT SOLENT
“Visited 24/6/2019. Great location in the modern Port Solent development. Plenty of seating both inside and outside overlooking the water. Only pub in what is otherwise a restaurant dominated area, so was busy. Mixed crowd, some a bit rowdy. Highlight beer wise was 3 taps from the very locale Irving brewery. Service was quite slow and disorganised. Good prices.“

60 /100 32-33 THE BOARDWALK, PORT SOLENT
“Located in the purpose built Port Solent entertainment complex, and set on two level of a boardwalk looking into the marina you can not fault the location of this as you watch the moored yachts bobbing up and down on the calm water. This pub is much more geared towards people arriving in their car for something to eat, and the table design and layout indicates this. There is however nothing to stop you just coming for a drink and plenty of people do just that, but unless you live here there you’re probably going to need a designated driver if you spend any time here. Ales are only on a short row of pumps. The decking has heat lamps.“

60 /100 42 HIGH STREET
“Just north of the train station in the less than impressive High Street, this Wetherspoon has the regular look with a mismatch of wood colours in a uniform layout, including some booth area towards the rear. Also at the back is the small garden, a much prettier option to standing out front. It all looks a little worn but it’s comfortable enough and attracts a fair crowd, perhaps slightly older on the whole. The bar has a couple of rows of ale pumps, although one set are almost hidden where it curves around at its end. The cheap food is as popular as ever here.“
