“Proper old-school 'parlour pub' hidden deep within the South Shropshire hills (tho technically Herefordshire I guess). The old landlady that lived and worked here her entire life of 97 years is immortalised with a blue plaque on the outside of the building, and inside her front room with fireplace appears to remain exactly how it always has the last 100 years or so. The main bar area seems to have been added as an extension to cater to demand at some point, and is fairly large and spacious, though no less authentic. Cask offerings are from Ludlow and Hobsons with some Westons and Robinsons cider. To city folk this would be like stepping back in time, but to locals here it seems to be just the local pub. Quite a lot of events going on weekends it seems, BBQs, beer festivals etc.. Definitely if you can make a detour here you should, and sit in one of the front rooms in Flossie's chair.“
