78 /100 Biddenden Vineyard Shop (Beer Store) GRIBBLE BRIDGE LANE As previously mentioned, this is the shop at the Biddenden Vineyard. They offer free tours of the vineyard on Saturday mornings, which are well worth it.
Nice little selection of beers. Seem to be mostly from Kent and Sussex. Also have several types of their own cider. Prices are very good for the beer. Around £2.80 for most bottles. |
72 /100 Biddenden Vineyard Shop (Beer Store) GRIBBLE BRIDGE LANE This is the shop associated with the Biddenden Vineyards which produce nice English wine and cider. It’s about a 10 minute drive north of Tenterden, in a rather picturesque part of the world. The shop itself is packed full of a whole range of premium food and beverages, with a stong focus on local produce. You can sample any of their own wines or ciders for free before making your selection. In addition to ciders they have around 50 bottled beers from the likes of Harveys, Old Dairy, Whitstable etc. Staff were very friendly and only too happy to help. Even had a free mince pie. Well worth stopping past if you’re in the area. |
54 /100 Three Chimneys (Bar) HAREPLAIN ROAD, BIDDENDEN Old traditional pub a bit out of nowhere, still seems to be pretty well known for people visiting Sissinghurst Castle Garden and other surrounding attractions. Charming place, nice beer garden, superb food but the staff seems to be a bit stressed when we visited them during the peak season. About seven taps, three of them cask and one cider. Several other different casks on hold. I guess most of the garden people seem to go for the wine choice, but the beer selection is interesting anyway. Recommended if you happens to be in the area. |
