“There are lots of decent micropubs popping up in Leicester's commuter villages/towns - Syston, Mountsorrel, Enderby, Wigston - and now the brewery tap for Anstey Ales. What started as a pop-up pub graduated to an every-weekend venture and is now open 6 evenings per week. Neatly kitted out with wooden furniture, it's modern without being to hip. The beer is traditional to the core, but Anstey brew decent stuff and serving them fresh at the Mash & Press. Four cask and one keg of Anstey beers, with Wild Beer's Millionaire joining a cider and a lager on keg. About six still ciders, mostly from Charnwood Ciders, with several bottled ciders (and one bottled beer from Anstey). Friendly and beer-led (I was greeted with tasters for each cask) with a great piped music playlist. A must-visit if in the area.“
