“Your average Total Wine & More - as in a great place to shop for any kind of spirits, including beer. They have a great selection of Florida brews, available in six-packs or singletons. Cashier checked me out quickly and efficiently, but still treated me like a human being. I love Total Wine & More stores wherever I find them.“

“I was under the impression that all Publix stores do mix six packs. Apparently this one does not. A nice selection of beers but no bombers and no singles. A little let down.“

“A typical Total Wine. Very nice selection but as always you have to pay attention to make sure you’re not grabbing old beer. The prices were a bit higher than Total Wines I’ve been to in Arizona and Texas. Also shocked the selection of stuff from Funky Buddha and Cigar City was limited in singles (although they had plenty in six packs). A nice selection of special release stuff but again a tad higher than I am used to. Overall, this has to be the best beer shop in the area.“

“Nice enough place. Visited over July 4th holiday in 2015. The service was great. Everyone was friendly. The beer was just so-so overall, but there were a couple strong offerings. I haven’t been back to the Daytona NASCAR summer race since, but will attend again and I’ll visit this place again. I did buy an über-cool work shirt.“

“It’s a BW2. They’re all the same. Mediocre craft beer selection, but they do have a few locally brewed beers. The food is good. The wings are especially good. It’s a great place to go and watch a game that you can’t pick up on cable, dish or Direct TV at home.“

“Visited here in late June ’16 while in the area for business, Nice decor, very roomy with high ceilings and a few TVs placed around the rooms and a huge 4 in 1 screen behind the bar. Have about 8 of their rotating beers on tap with 3 seasonal and a few regionals such as Ormond Beach, Daytona Beach and Tokoma on tap. Pizza, burgers, wings, salads, appetizers - full stocked menu. Service was superb, professional and friendly. I like a place where the waiters and waitresses wear somewhat of a uniform and provide good solid polite service - yeah, I’m old fashioned, Like all other BJ’s I have been to - pretty solid - you know what you are going to get.“

“Visited here on a Thursday evening while in the area for business. Located in a warehouse/industrial type complex, a little off the beaten path. They only had three of their own on tap - have about a dozen from other mostly regional brewers. Friendly service, nice airy taproom. Have food trucks regularly it appears. Worth a stop.“

“Visited here in mid June ’16 while in the area for business. About on par with other Total Wines I have been to in Florida, not quite as stocked with Florida regionals as I would like though. At least four aisles of beer to choose from. Like most TWs a whole aisle full of craft singles on one side and common imports on the other. Solid selection of nothing but seasonals which was nice. Overall, several hundred singles - which is what I am looking for when on the road. Solid retailer, will swing by when in the area again,“

“Stuck back in the corner of an industrial park. Beer selection is very good. A wide variety of brews along with a braggot. Some small beers packed with flavor. Bigger beers well balanced and all very clean. World class? No. Better than average yes. No wifi is the biggest hit. I came for the beer:). Servers are knowledgable and will find the answers if they don’t know. Bar area roomy but quaint. A happy place with good beer.“

“This is a liquor store that has some beer. From what I remember nothing is refrigerated. They do have a decent selection but the IPAs aren’t the freshist. You can build your own six pack out of anything there though so that is nice. They did have some Cigar City so I was happy.“

“Average sports bar. Good local brews. My burger was ok but the appetizers were great! Service was good but the server really didn’t have too much knowledge on the beer, nor could he find out info on when/if the pumpkin beer will be available any time soon. “Ambience gets a low rating here since the bar is filled with smoke and is hot. Selection is not very good. If you order an Irish car bomb it comes in a plastic cup and you don’t even get the satisfaction of dropping the shot. This place is right next to a strip club so you get the usual shady crowd. If yellow water is your kind of beer and you like to feel like all eyes are on you pushing you out the door and lung cancer is something you’ve been thinking about getting check this place out. It is definitely not for the beer lover.“

“This place is loud and dark. Service is terrible here if you don’t sit at the bar. It is actually like two completely different establishments depending on whether or not you’re at the bar or at a table. At a table you can expect it to be a very long time before you see a server and about three times that wait before your food ever comes. The kitchen is very slow here. There is a large selection of food and the taste is good but then almost anything tastes good after you’ve waited that long. You may get carded there, this is not a problem if your waiter is competent enough to look at your ID and decide if you are of age to buy alcohol or not. If your server is not competent enough he will then walk away with your ID (after having been asked to return it before leaving) and get his manager and his manager will have to do the math to decide whether or not you can buy alcohol. This was a ridiculously horrible experience. With today’s technology identity theft is a threat and I really did not appreciate the waiter walking off with my ID. The manager did come by to say that he had to look at the ID and say that that’s just how they did it there. I informed him that I had been there several times before and never experienced that (at the bar or at a table). All while he was talking to me and I was talking to him he never once looked at me. He just stared off into another part of the restaurant. This is not customer service. This is not how you talk with people. Beer selection is good especially if you are okay with drinking one of the beers they produce. The menu is not updated very often so have a request list when your waiter finally returns.“

“Ambience here is great during the day when there’s no band playing in the jukebox is not blasting in your ears. The bar is not very big so when music is playing you won’t be able to have a conversation with anyone else. The bar is cool to look at with the many taps and glasses around. You will be doing a lot of looking at the bar since you will be waiting quite a long time for any sort of service. The beer selection, food selection and quality, and value are great here but the service just disappoints me every time I am there. This place is definitely a University hangout and I believe the owners and staff have just gotten complacent thinking that there’ll always be another person there with money (therefore the service lacks).“

“This is an older store that’s limited on available space. The items that they stock on the shelves are the ones that folks who are staying in a hotel or condo at the beach for a week would want. Hot dogs, hamburgers, and domestic beer and cheap wine. I would suggest that a beer lover’s time would better be spent doing their beer shopping some where else.“

“Not fancy or up tight in the least bit. This is the kind of place you can walk into and just relax and have a good time. I like the fact that it’s often not crowded, and you can play a game of throwing beer coasters into the hole in a container across the room. The sandwiches are good too. I would recommend either walking here, or using a designated driver, as A1A gets a lot of attention to keep pedestrians and vacationers safe.“

“This place is an exception to the kinds of places that are located in the tourist zone, which are places that typically caters to the volume over quality crowd. That’s not to say that Robbie’s doesn’t have domestic specials during the week, but this is where you’ll see someone drinking a schooner of Franziskaner, someone having an old scotch, and some folks with $2 PBRs. The crowd can be different at times but almost always everyone is in a good mood and having fun. I’ve yet to have anything to eat here, so I can’t really rate that now. The staff is friendly and knows their beers and the regular customers. I think a new airhandling system was recently installed, the last time I was there it seemed better, but I still avoid latenight vists because that’s when I have encountered smoke that bothered me. Happy Hour on the other hand is my favorite time to go.“

“IIt’s easily my favorite place at the Volusia Mall. You can navigate the narrow aisle between the bar and the deli to see the beer, cheese, meat, glassware, and other novelties that line each side, finally reaching the back where there’s more of that and wine too. Food selections are more deli and German influenced but make for a good pairing with your drinks if you are hungy for a snack or meal. Between Thanksgiving and New Years the addtional folks at the mall can make it very crowded and not as enjoyable, but still worth a visit if you can find a space to sit.“

“ABC has a chain of Liquor stores in FL< but what you will find at one store varies from what you find in another store. This one has more import and craft beer than the store closer to where I live. If you look across from the cooler, you can find some specials on a rack at room temp as well. Locals who shop at ABC have registered for an ABC card and often you will see specials that require you to have the card in order to get the lower prices.“

“It’s in the style of a traditional Irish pub with wood and brass. There’s TVs with sports on and a juke box, when there’s no live entertainment, such as an Irish band. The menu choices are influenced by Irish culture but the beer selection is much wider, including more than 20 beers on tap, and 200+ in bottles. There a good crowd of regulars here but newcomers are welcomed as this is a town with lots of tourists. Check the chalkboards on the way in to see the beer and food specials, it helps you get the best deals for your money. Service can vary depending on the size of the crowd, time of day, and whether you yell at the staff (don’t) but knowledge of the menu and beers is typically good no matter who your server is. St Patty’s day here is something all together different, and if that’s your only visit, you aren’t going to get a true impression of what the place is like the rest of the time. There’s only a handful of places in Daytona Beach that really cater to the import and craft beer audience, and this one is my favorite out of all of them.“

“My family and I came here for dinner and drinks during a recent trip to Daytona Beach. Having been thoroughly impressed by McK’s Tavern and Bottle Caps, I was excited to visit the city’s only brewpub. First of all, this enormous restaurant looks very attractive from the outside, and the interior decor is even more beautiful. Lots of dim lights, bright and colourful posters, and a gargantuan, well-lit bar give the place a modern and welcoming ambience. The inside was jammed with patrons but, after calling ahead, we secured a comfortable booth in the dining area. Service was fast and helpful as our food and drinks arrived in reasonable time and the waitress informed me of the seasonal draughts from Sierra Nevada, Dogfish Head, and Samuel Adams. She also provided us with brief descriptions of the brewpub’s beers. If I recall correctly, the house selection includes the Piranha Pale Ale, P.M. Porter, Tatonka Stout, Nutty Brewnette, Brewhouse Blonde, Jeremiah Red, and Harvest Hefeweizen, among several others. There was no IPA on my visit, though surprisingly the bar carries a full range of high-end Belgian bottles. I paired my Buffalo Chicken Pizza with a Widmer Drifter Pale Ale and it proved to be a fantastic match. My girlfriend and parents enjoyed their appetizers and entrees and had no trouble procuring a couple wines of their liking. Four two-course meals and eight drinks came to $150 with tip, which is pretty fair in my books. Overall, we were quite satisfied with our experience here and I would probably visit BJ’s on a regular basis if I lived in the area. In addition to the house beers, they also offer various rotating taps from other breweries, so there’s a good chance that you’ll always find something different on tap. Awesome spot.“

“My girl and I stopped in here for lunch & drinks on a recent trip to Daytona. Atmosphere is typical Irish pub with dark wooden tables and chairs all throughout the establishment and a dimly lit ambience (even during the day). The long, old fashioned bar probably seats 25 people. Bartenders are a friendly, chatty bunch, as they were engaging several patrons on the finer details of various craft beers during our visit. Our waitress on the other hand was less-than-enthusiastic - it seemed like she was having a rough day and wasn’t afraid to let the customers know about it. But our food and drinks arrived promptly and she was quick to fetch us some extra condiments and napkins when we asked for them. The beer selection is quite impressive. I ordered a pint of Stone Smoked Porter and Terrapin Wake-N-Bake Oatmeal Coffee Stout, and noticed around 33 other, mostly craft taps from Cigar City, Victory, Sam Adams, Brooklyn, Blue Point, and Sierra Nevada. My understanding is that the bottle list includes everything on the menu - which was slightly out of date when we came - as well as all of the beers sold at Bottle Caps next door. So between the menu and the beer store, the micro bottles likely total 200 or more. In light of this, patrons who are interested in drinking bottles at McK’s should peruse the store before ordering at the bar, as the beer menu excludes many of the bottles that are actually available. For food we split a delicious chicken salad sandwich and a bowl of spicy southwestern chicken soup. Both dishes tasted excellent and came in generous portions at good value. Overall, I can see why this place is considered the best beer bar in the city. It has the largest and highest quality beer selection with bartenders who really care about the products they’re serving. Although our waitress could have done a much better job, I’ll definitely be returning here on future trips to Daytona.“

“Best beer selection of any Winn-Dixie I’ve been to. The W-D near home might have one good beer on occasion, so I was impressed. Not a "beer store" by any means, but it’s right across the street from a lot of hotels on the beach, and conveniently just about half way in-between the bridges to the mainland, so worth adding. Same parking lot as The Shores Festhaus.“

“Stationed across the street from Daytona Beach in a rundown strip mall, Shores Festhaus is a true diamond in the ruff for beer lovers. This place offers classic European and American-style sandwiches with 15 taps and 75 bottles of mostly high-end German imports and quality U.S. micros. Atmosphere is casual and relaxed: punk rock plays in the background as patrons chat it up by the bar, and beach bums come in off the shore to get some drinks and pub grub. My girl and I grabbed a table by the back and received excellent, friendly service from the bartender. He was pouring the taps and making the sandwiches with about 15 people to serve - pretty impressive! Standouts on the beer menu are Rogue Chocolate Stout, Dogfish Head Immort Ale, 120 Minute IPA, and Raison D’Etre, Boulder Hazed & Infused, Bell’s HopSlam and Oberon Ale, about 5 brews from Stone, Samuel Smith India Pale Ale, Ommegang Three Philosophers, and Paulaner Oktoberfest. As of June 2010, taps were Spaten Optimator, Tucher Hefeweizen, Unibroue Maudite, Franziskaner Hefe-Weisse, and Hacker Pschorr Oktoberfest Marzen. I went with a Bell’s Amber Ale - served in a Boston Lager glass (nice!) - while my girlfriend enjoyed a Weihenstephaner Hefeweizen. The sandwiches are among the best I’ve ever had. We ordered the Cajun Dutchman and Turkey Reuben, both came with homemade sauces, chips and pickles on the side, in generous portions, and they were outstanding. Overall, I will happily return here when visiting Daytona Beach again. Although this *technically* isn’t the best beer spot in the area, since McK’s Tavern, Mr. Dunderbak’s, and Ormond Wine Co. have better selections, it’s certainly a personal favourite of mine. Unpretentious, approachable vibe, kick ass beers, simple yet amazing food, and reasonable prices. Check it out.“

“This is where I bought most of my beer on a recent trip to Daytona Beach, Florida. A funny looking sign was advertising "gourmet beers," which really meant above average craft beer. Service was not so great as the woman who served us was awkward and standoffish. To my amazement, she requested my girlfriend’s ID simply because she was with me! Despite the underwhelming service, the selection was adequate. Flying Dog Doggy Style Pale Ale and Tire Bite Golden Ale, Rogue American Amber and Mocha Porter, Sierra Nevada ESB and Wheat, Great Divide Titan IPA, Sam Adams White Ale, Guinness 250, and Brooklyn Brown Ale were among the better offerings. There were also some good Belgians like St. Bernardus Abt 12 and Delirium Tremens. Second trip they had Ommegang Hennepin, SN Summer Fest, Lagunitas Pils, and Magic Hat #9. What I like about this store is the fact that you can take single bottles from six packs and the labels display the two prices. Definitely something the LCBO should pursue. Along with Bottle Caps, Mr. Dunderbak’s, and Ormond Wine Co., this is one of the go-to beer stores in the Daytona area. Worth checking out. “

“Visited in June 2009 and May 2010 for dinner and drinks. Mr. Dunderbak’s is where I purchased the "Beer Will Change the World!" poster featured in my profile picture. At the time I thought it was so uniquely hilarious that I decided to grab it. Now I realize it’s a generic and widely available item. Oh well. Atmosphere is quiet, mostly local patrons who mind their own business. Kooky decor full of retro beer signs, this place functions as a bar, deli, grocery and beer store all at once, in a mainstream mall that is otherwise devoid of culture. Service is decent enough, especially if you get the owner. He grabbed me a cold bottle of Sierra Nevada 30th Anniversary as I was paying my tab. Great, friendly guy. Our waitress on the other hand was slightly aloof, but reasonably quick with the drinks and food. The beer menu is nearly unmatched in Daytona. On my latest visit they had Southern Tier Un*Earthly, SN Torpedo IPA, Oskar Blues Old Chub, Samuel Smith Yorkshire Stingo, and Unibroue Quelque Chose, among countless other offerings. McK’s Tavern, Shores Festhaus, and Ormond Wine are the only other places that come close to the selection here. Food is superb and authentic German cuisine, including various schnitzel and sausage dishes. I had the excellent Jaeger Schnitzel with a mushroom gravy sauce and fresh baked beans. It was the perfect companion to my IPA and scotch ale. Overall, Dunderbak’s is one of the top places in the city to enjoy quality beer and dining. If you’re in the area, drop by to have a brew with some top-flight European grub.“

“Not one of 7 taps served craft, the manager claiming blue moon was. This is mass UK/Irish. Other than that, it is a fun place catering to the younger crowd whom are up, usually for a short while, in any of the many hotels to catch surf and beach. It is open 3 pm to 3 am. There is a lot of socializing and with me advocating for some craft, and all those who follow, maybe they will catch on. Until then there is nowhere to find craft in this dessert, with only the odd Full Sail amber to be found in bottles down the road at ABC. “
