66 /100 5 MARKET STREET
“The more traditional of two Wetherspoon pubs only 200 yards apart on the same street in the town centre. This one has a cosy feel to it and is split level, with an small courtyard area alongside the road that acts as the outdoor area, but it can’t fit many. Its layout is good and there’s enough seating space opposite the curved bar and in the lower section where booths are more abundant as well as a fireplace area with sofas. The furnishings feel fresh and there are two rows of real ales including from local brewers. Unfortunately I was ignored service ahead of others who arrived after me.“

68 /100 WATER STREET/CHALON WAY
“The late night music venue of Wetherspoons in the town at the weekend. The design is similar to a few others including Tamworth and Redditch where a square central bar is located close to the door before a wider area including a DJ booth and dance floor becomes apparent towards the rear. Like the others during the daytime tables cover all the main areas and there’s ample seating here, including on elevated platform areas either side of the bar. The furnishings are fresh and plush with a darker wood style, making it an appealing place to drink. There is a front patio area that is only accessible through its own reception area doors via the main room. This looks out onto the street, but there’s not much to look at. There’s a couple of rows of ale pumps on either side of the square serving area.“

16 /100 LANGTREE PARK
“This is the stadium bar inside Langtree park, I queued up for almost half an hour to get a beer, due to the inept inbred lad who was serving, only just got seated for the start of the match“
