Country Harvest (Grocery Store)
“Large farm shop and café ideally placed to catch passing trade from the busy A65. It advertises itself as "where the Dales meet the Lakes", and so naturally much of the produce on sale comes from those areas, although there's also stuff from nearby Lancashire too, as well as further afield. Given its location, the produce is geared somewhat towards passing coach parties, with giftware and homeware taking up at least as much space as the food and booze. Talking of which, there are about 30-40 different VB local beers (oddly split between several different locations in the shop) from the likes of Old School, Kirkby Lonsdale and Settle Although the staff were perfectly friendly, the atmosphere seemed a little downbeat in the shop; I don't know if that was due to the long thin shape, the fact that it was the end of a very wet day, or just that it was more geared for coach parties than for us local speciality hunters. However, some of our party stayed a bit longer and went to the café and gave fulsome praise to that. Overall, definitely not a beer destination in its own right, but worth sticking your head in if you're passing.“

“Rural pub next to Ribblehead station and the famous viaduct. Popular with walkers and cyclists. Features six real ales, numerous keg lagers and one cider. Extensive food menu with big portions. Quiet atmosphere, no music, just the faint clinking of balls on the pool table in the adjacent room. Worth a visit if you’re in this lovely part of the world.“
