86 /100 The White Horse (Bar) MAIN ROAD Very smart bar, part of the hotel with restaurant, situated on the North Norfolk coastal road. Four casks and a few kegs (not overly interesting on the keg front) in good nick at steady prices. There’s usually a decent mix of locals and holidaymakers and generally a few dogs knocking about. Tiled floors and scrubbed pine tables and a big well run wood burning stove at one end. The food is good here, as are the rooms (me and the missus and our dogs have been coming here a long time). Comfortable and welcoming. |
66 /100 Jolly Sailors (Bar) MAIN ROAD This is the theoretical home of Brancaster Brewery, however the beers are brewed elsewhere to recipes supplied by the Landlord presumably. Very popular on a sunny August Saturday, stay-cation at its best really. It's a rambling sort of pub, lots of nooks and crannies to investigate. The garden is basically a kids playground unfortunately, best off indoors with this one, lots of parking. Dog friendly. Covid restrictions mean that you queue to get in, but once allocated a table there is friendly table service with banter. Just the one Brancaster beer on for our visit but it was in fine fettle, had a couple. Food is okay. |
