“A lovely old skool boozer that hasn’t changed much in a long while. They have nine hand pulled beers from mainly XT, plus a similar number of taps including a few interesting craft beers. There are seats for about 30 people indoors plus a small outside terrace at the back. Friendly service. Just the one Thame beer when I visited, so don’t expect a ticking frenzy.“

“Visited 8/11/2019. The town of Thame appears to support a surprisingly large number of pubs, and whilst I only visited this one (specifically to try a Thame Brewery beer) this is surely its gem? Situated a few minutes walk from the town centre, it’s an absolute beauty of a place to visit if you like old/traditional pubs, very homely and welcoming, nicely furnished and with ceilings adorned with hundreds if not thousands of pump clips. Beers range is good too. As well as one of their own beers being available they had around a dozen other beers/ciders of interest (available as 3xthirds). I had been first one in a 5pm but it had filled up nicely by about 5:30/6 a really friendly buzz to the place. Very pleased I got to this place, which was last stop on my Oxfordshire Brewery day trip.“

“Excellent community local just off the town centre but easily walked. Comfortable and friendly with a decent choice of beer for the location plus their own beer available. Simply the only choice in Thame now that the Birdcage appears to have closed, which is a shame really. Wished it was my local.“

“This pub is a cracker. Unfortunately no Thame beers on when I called. Excellent service, friendly locals and a cracking range of beers mainly local to here. Worth going out of your way for.“

“I’ve visited here on a fair few occasions over the last few years, for a beer lover it offers probably the best and most changing selection of beers in Thame. The pub is situated at the southern end of the town centre, on a mini roundabout juntion. There is parking nearby with car parks in the centre and some street parking close by. This is a friendly pub with a mixture of locals and the odd tourist or beery person like me, it is tidy yet has an ever so slightly old fashioned feel. The bar is off to the left as you enter and there are normally about 5-6 cask offerings, surprisingly it is a rare occasion indeed that I get to see one of their own beers on offer. You will frequently see beers from local producers such as Vale, Tring and then a little further afield brewers from places like Wiltshire, Berkshire. I like it here, its a nice place to sit for a pint or two with a game of dominos.“

“Great little pub at the far end of the high street of this quaint little market town. Eight real ale handpumps (mainly local micros, but a good selection from across the country too), one real cider and the usual macro pumps. Good buzz of coversation in the pub, along with traditional pub games and a piano. Tiny courtyard out the back with wild hops growing up the walls. Behind that in the landlord Peter’s splendidly messy "Man Shed", as he calls it, is the tiny Thame microbrewery, whiere he does two brews a week exclusively for the pub. These can sell out in hours, so it’s worth phoning ahead to make sure one will be on when you visit. Very friendly and traditional little brewpub, well worth a visit.“
