Plough (Bar)
26 BROADWAY,
“Visited after a walk through the countryside nearby on the recommendation of a CAMRA friend. Nice old, time-worn feel about the place with low beams and traditional decor. Around eight regional handpull and two ciders with some nondescript fizzy lagers to the right. My attention was drawn to the Belgian beer bottle list, but unfortunately despite around 12-15 listed, only 4 were available. When I asked for one by name, no one knew what I was talking about, and when one was found it was long out of date. Seems they aren't big sellers here. Finally one Belgian beer was found with 2 weeks Best Before left. I imagine with the cask range, this is what the pub is known for and probably has the largest range in the town. But after the shitty attitude received from staff on arrival I doubt I will be back any time soon.“

“Visited on Saturday afternoon 3rd June 2017, sat outside in the sun. Basic boozer with two inside areas where the central bar serves beers from the Banks’s/Marston’s breweries. Decor wise its that ’rough and ruined by design’ look with plaster missing to reveil brickwork and mortar. Nothing wrong with the place, a locals bar really but everyone is pleasant and the beer is always in good order. Been a few times over the years, but would never have added it to the RateBeer Data Base because it offers nothing you can’t get elsewhere in the area.“

Plough (Bar)
26 BROADWAY,
“Visited as working locally, and to try their own beer, but as at 8th Feb 17 they said the brewery had been "moth balled". So from that perspective a "wasted trip", however they did have a great selection of local and regional beers on their 10 Hand Pumps (including 2 ciders), so maybe not a waste trip after all. nice friendly staff, free wifi made it an enjoyable experience. Worth going to if in the area.“

“Visit 31/12/16 . Nice wooden beamed pub with oodles of character. 7 sticks for ale with another 2 for cider. Typically the on site brewed beer had run out lol. Nice pub“

Odfellows Wine Bar (Restaurant)
MARKET PLACE,
“More food and wine sold here than beer, but it’s a pleasant enough place with two distinct drinking areas as well as the raised restaurant seating. Usually four hand-pulls with local beers on, plus the usual suspects on the keg lines. Staff are a bit standoffish and aloof, especially the females. Happy Hour doesn’t seem to make them very happy, even if no one else is in the place like the last time I was in there (16th Nov 2016). Beer quality not an issue, never had a bad pint in there.“

“I have used this pub many times over the last 20 years or so: multi CAMRA award winning place because of it’s cask ale quality. Two rooms, served from a central bar area. Left hand side has a dart board and is more basic than the cosier right hand room. Olde Worlde feel to the whole pub, inside and out. The local CAMRA Christmas Social was in here last Saturday (10th Dec 2016). No new rates for me, but all the beers I had were in great condition. Changed hands recently, staff all seemed fine and friendly. Their Chilli Burgers are wonderful, usually have one if visiting lunchtime-ish.“

Odfellows Wine Bar (Restaurant)
MARKET PLACE,
“Visited on Saturday 12th March 2016. A couple of minutes away from the station this is a bar/restaurant which is popular with the locals. Half of the place is given over to dining and the rest the bar. It was busy so asked if we could sit in the fairly empty restaurant and were refused. This is a bugbear of mine. 4 beers on handpulls plus quite a few lagers etc. A small but strange bottle range with beers from Clown Shoes in the fridge. Staff weren’t very friendly or accommodating and service was poor. Beer was decent though. The layout also isn’t the best with quite a tight squeeze along the bar, which if busy is a bit of a pain. It’s interesting and I’d like to go again but won’t be rushing back.“

“Visited on Saturday 12th March 2016. The pub is between the Plough and the White Hart. It’s got a large area with seats out the front and inside has lots of rooms to hide away in. 6 beers on from the Marston’s stable. The ones we tried were well kept. Staff were friendly and the prices were cheap. A good place to go looking for a seasonal or something new from the range but not a great beer destination. It’s a decent enough pub for a pint though.“

26 BROADWAY,
“Visited on 12th March 2016. A few minutes from the station and you arrive here. Nice old pub with lots of nooks and crannies to sit in. Place is popular with locals for food and drink. Good range of beer on the bar. Had a pint of the Broadway IPA which is brewed on site. According to staff it’s a separate business so not well advertised by the pub. All the beer we tried in good condition. Good service. Would go back again. The best pub in Shifnal.“

70 /100 HIGH ST,
“Visited on Saturday 12th March 2016. Just over a 5 min walk from the station and the outlier of the pubs in Shifnal. This place is a black and white fronted building, steeped in history. It does suit the shorter rater as it is quite low beamed in places. Decent range of beer on from the local area and across the UK. Service was friendly, clientele less so and there was some sort of "stoolgate" . Overall a decent pub and worth a look.“

Plough (Bar)
26 BROADWAY,
“This place was a thriving pub years ago and then turned into a Portuguese/Mediterranean Chicken Restaurant before re-inventing it’s self back into a pub. Small frontage opens up on entering and the long thin corridor along side the actual bar takes you to another drinking area, a large covered smoking patio, garden and huge function room. Good selection of rotating local and not so local Real Ales, always in good condition. There is now a small brewing plant hidden away to the rear, so one of their own beers may well be available if you should pop in. Good value food too. Pleasant staff and customers make this a regular haunt of mine.“
