“Popular in the summer being so close to the river, nice to sit outside and watch the river go by with a cold beer. Not been for a while so reviewing from memory. Nice ambience and nicely decorated, tasty food, a tad pricey, and an ok beer selection, nothing to get excited about.“

“Visited on 3rd Nov 2016: first time I’ve been in since Brunning & Price took over. I have to say they have done an excellent job on the refurbishment. Well they can with the backing they have. Decorated to a very high standard it is a labyrinth of fine rooms with a central double sided bar area. Staff and manager very friendly and obviously well trained in customer service. Anyway it’s very foodie like all their places and has a good selection of Real Ales, again like all their places. There was a free tasting of Gorgeous Beer Co brews on my visit (the real reason I went): met the brewer and tried all three beers, fine. Food is expensive, beer not cheap (unless it’s free at an event). Let’s call it a ’High End’ sort of establishment.“

“Visited on Sunday 31st January 2016. Stopped for Sunday lunch, it’s by the river so very popular and has a single track bridge to get to it so a bit of a challenge! Lots of room but the place was very busy, got a table and ordered from the bar. Beer range wasn’t the best with a mix of local and national beers, a couple kicked and weren’t quickly replaced, service was a little erratic, not helped with people buying food and drinks. Sunday lunch was excellent. Nice place for food but wouldn’t rush back for the beer. It’s not set up as a beer destination and is definitely the gastropub end of the spectrum“
