Visited with friends on the 5th October 2019 after IMBC session. Near to the city centre around 10-15 minutes by foot from train station. This place is one of the beer temple on the earth. Very clean and clear place. Nice decoration and very confortable seat. Selection is just amazing. Very nice range of cask beer with nice breweries and type of beer selection and very attractive price! Tap selection is also very nice, and abordable. I didn't check directly the beer selection but from the website it looks also amazing. Staff is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient! Best adjectives to describe them! A must to visit!
Very eclectic pub with various themed rooms. Large modern cask selection with a half dozen additional kegs. But the real find is the bottle list hidden behind the bar. A great selection of UK, Northern Europe and US bottles. Must visit.
Awesome two room pub a five minute walk from the town centre. Cask beers in one room, keg beers in the other. There must be a choice of 25 to 30 beers at any one time - varied styles and from all over the world. It’s a veritable beer festival on every visit! Great service from knowledgeable, friendly staff. Quite an extensive bottle list also, including some lesser found beers. An absolute gem that deserves its rating and praise
Pretty large place with smaller front room and the large space in the back consisting of a small and a large room and the bar area between them. Nice small garden in the back. Lots of weird decorations, I could probably spend an hour studying the details on all the creations on the walls. Extensive selection of both kegs and casks, more than 30 in total. Good combination of UK beers and imports. Very good and fair priced bottle list. A must if you're in area. Grove and Magic Rock made Huddersfield well worth stopping at on our way from Manchester to Leeds.
This is where I drink before every Huddersfield Town home game, wonderful selection of both cask and keg beers, extremely keenly priced, the staff really know there stuff and the people that go in are all extremely friendly, miss at your own peril.
Holy cow. Ten minute walk from the station. Does not look like a pub from the outside - neither the building nor the bright green sign - so I walked pat it and had to ask for directions. Once I found it, I was in heaven. The room on your right is more for men, and you can cuss here. The room on the left was for families. But both sides were mixed. The right side, paradoxically, was quieter. Huge range of beer mostly from farther afield - Sweden, Denmark and Slovenia were all represented. And they do thirds. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Knowledgeable clientele too - thank you, David, for guiding me through the beers on offer with some solid recommendations. A must-visit while anywhere near Huddersfield.
