I’ve been here a couple time and stopped by again last night. Pretty consistent view. Atmosphere, especially on a warm, but not hot night is awesome as you sit outdoors. Service is consistently subpar. Beer menu is really all over the place with some homeruns and some mediocre stuff, but consistently have unusual Italian and other European stuff (note this place is not just Italian beers, but European and Japanese beers, including seasonal Japanese releases). Prices are high for drink and food, but food is FANTASTIC. Good place to take your significant other if they aren’t really into beer as the glass wine list is impressive (and more reasonably priced than beer). Food price is high, but portions are big for Japan. If you want a great, relax meal as a couple or small group, this is a great place to go.

Nice little italian bistro in a quiet street behind Omotesando hills. Currently serves 10 taps of high quality italian brews, good condition, one-size only in classy wine glasses (so a bit difficult to judge the quantity). Food is quite good, revisited italian classics with a focus on fresh vegetables. Now opened for lunch.

Visited with Tim Maloney. Small free standing little restaurant (i.e not in a block or up some stairs in a multi-storey building) in a smart and boutique area between Gaenmae and Omotesando. Seated area at the bar for about 5 and tables upstairs and down. The food was Italian inspired. Whilst I’d say the food isn’t setting the world on fire (I had schnitzel which was a bit of a fatty cut) the beers are served very nicely here. Good range of about 8-10 Japanese craft beers, in different styles. There were also a couple of foreign craft beers one of which was an Italian brewer. Beers served in very nice glasses and chilled to a nice temperature. For example a Tripel was served in a nice crystal round bulb wine type glass. Definitely somewhere I’d come back to for the beers, less so for the food, although the food was very reasonably priced.

Italian restaurant complete with 10 taps of good beer (well 9 good and one Asahi...). Run by an ex-manager of Craft Beer Market Jinbocho so you know what you are going to get. Beers are all ¥880 for US pint and ¥580 for 310ml so pretty good prices. They had a couple of Birra del Borgo on and the rest was Japanese craft, some of the usual suspects and some stuff that you don’t see around so much. Food was very nice. Apparently they are fine with you just drinking, and there are 5 counter seats which I presume are for this purpose. There is normally a ¥300 cover charge, but maybe they waive this if you sit at the bar and just drink. Can’t say for sure though. Nice place, brand spanking new at the moment. Another good Omotesando/Harajuku option.
