Visited with 77ships. Ah, finally, the legendary Kulminator! It took me more than one try to make it in here (it was spontaneously closed last time), and when the doors were not locked, the adventure began. When you open those doors, you enter a different realm where time stood still. The place is more than just packed with beer memorabilia, to an extent that might shock even the most dedicated collector. Vintage kegs of beer on tap for what would be standard, even cheap, prices for fresh beer. The bottle list is endless and contains a surprising amount of whales still after all the praise this place has received over the years - I was more than happy with a Rodenbach yeast Oerbier from 1987 and a Stille Nacht Reserva 2005 (the other SNRs are 750s and much more expensive, and also only available if you get a vertical. The service is forthcoming and attentive, but you do need to remember to give a sign if you want to be seen. A fun collection of oard games available in the cupboard. Maybe I wouldn't come here to "just have a good beer", especially not nowadays with the excellent bar situation in Antwerp, but it is certainly a place every beer lover needs to have experienced, and even more so if you can get something out of aged beer.
Very nice place. We weren't sure if it was open until the door wasn't locked and nobody complained once we were inside. The bar looks like a beer fan collected beer memorabilia for decades and placed them all inside this place. A bit too full, but it has its own charm. The service is done by an old lady, while her husband gets the beery from the cellar. Very friendly and likeable. The beer list is amazing to look through as well as overwhelming and possibly out of date. Sometimes they have to look if a certain beer is still there, but there is enough to choose from. Actually there is too much to choose from, so you need to find a strategy to order something otherwise you'll get lost in the beer selection. Very pleasant place that has probably seen much better times, but it is still very much worth a visit.
So much has been said about this place, not much to add. The clutter is pretty bad, but take a peek over the wall out back, now that's a mess! I personally quite like clutter and weird stuff, and here the mess has sort of taken over the whole place. I love it.
Service was very friendly, the supposedly grumpy owner was hiding. The wife delivered abosuloty friendly and great service, and quite fast too. Prices were super fair for what you get (out of date beer, read some reviews on TripAdvisor if you want to get a smile on your face). They did lock the door when they were about half full, though they did let some friends in to join our table, so seemed friendly enought to me. Amazing place.
Ambiance and service are so so. But you have to visit this place for the fantastic beers. Not everything is available and the grumpy owner not always is very willing to descent to the cellar to get some bottles. Nevertheless, this place is an experience and they have a treasure of vintage beers.

This place is absolutely amazing! Vintage is everywhere and so beautiful music is playing there - baroque only!
Unreal choice of vintage belgium beer like lambics but De Struise and De Dolle selection is crazy!
One of most atmospheric bar i ever been!
The selection is really unbelivable, there is no place with a selection like this in all of belgium and probably in all of the world. The owmers r elderly people and the ambiance is something far away from hipster but that does make the experience even more unforgettable. Check the openinghours well and bring cash, no cards accepted.
