I'm probably slightly biased as this was one of the first pubs in Bruges i visited, so it will always have a special place in my heart. The choice of beer is unlike anything I've ever experienced, beautiful ambiance and atmosphere.
Visited a couple of times - not often enough! Brown, dark, old, almost 19th century Bruges style pub. Old benches, rusty chairs. There is a 'main' beer list which consists of the more 'classic' Belgian breweries and their usual suspects, but a rotating bottle list with special stuff can be found in the back. Apparently this has changed owners; new bartenders are young and knowledgeable. I remember this place was notorious for its 'early' closing times (midnight, 1AM...), not sure if those opening hours are still correct. Prices are fair, specials not cheap; check out the tap list too, they once even had a beer still in production (collab between Siphon & Hedonis). All in all, the essential beer pub for a night out in Bruges.
For a tourist the beer list is overwhelming. There are places in Ohio where I lament that they have the same 300 beers. With fresh eyes this place is amazing. So many Belgian (and only Belgian) beers, from the recognizable to the really local. Pleasantly aloof bartenders who were helpful with suggestions. The local fetish with branded glassware is fascinating. Every beer is presented with a flourish in its specific glass. Small bar area with a sitting room attached. Great beer place for an American tourist to drink Belgian beer. They have some food but only got the cheese snack for self preservation.
