Bottled, 330ml, aged 8.5yrs part of the Anniversary stash compiled by Fin, many thanks old buddie. Dark amber with ruby hue with cream head. This commences very boozy in character, loads of plummy, smooth alcohol notes. The malts have amalgamated in flavours, some caramel, some whisky. Very decent beer indeed. Bottle. Muddy dark brown with tan head. Aroma is quite oxidised, sherry and grpaefruit. Taste of sha4p sherry fruits, chocolate, grapefruit and resinous. Sweet and bitter. Nice

Surprise to come across this figured these were gone for good & were not bound to cross my path. Thanks for opening this one. Pours a hazy dark amber with little tanned head. Nose reveals total and complete oxidation in the best way imaginable. Pure sherry, thick caramel and walnuts, sweet toffee,… beautiful. Taste is still very good but doesn’t trump the nose. Surprisingly bitter with lots of herbs followed by the oxidation notes sherry, toffee, walnuts, caramel, pumpernickel bread, the very bitter herbs are a defining characteristic upfront and in the lingering finish. Rich oxidized, old barleywine body. Has held up nicely but I suppose any further aging is not bound to improve it from this point on. kraddel (10780) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - JUL 22, 2013

hel yeah ! since my package with the likes of blabaer and BA abraxxas ( to celebrate all things) was taken by customs, i’m very hapy to have found this, just yesterday !

smells like a fine port, realy aged well !

Cloudy brown beer, frothy biscuit coloured head. Dry palate, semi soft. Low carbonation. Soft caramel malt well buried under bitter fruity hops. Aniseed alcohol. Okay but not the greatest beer from this brewer.
Tasted 09/06/2011. Pours nut brown, light tan head fading to hazy surface slick. Bright fruity nose of range, grapefruit, spicy resinous hops, undercurrent of caramel, brown sugar. Taste has nice orange, grapefruit, mildly sweet, caramel malts supporting, and bitterness on the upper palate, though this aspect seems to be fading. Juicy aftertaste, pleasant warming alcohol on the breath. Medium in the mouth, easy and smooth for the high ABV. I quite enjoyed this one. Intensiv malzig-cremiger Beginn mit alkoholischer Unterstützung. Das Malz stürzt sich dann in in schokoladige, später auch röstige Noten. Würzig, leicht hefig, vollmundig. Dann süßer, die Alkoholigkeit ist nur hintergründig erkennbar, sie übt aber einen spürbaren Einfluss aus. Weiterhin intensiv malzig-hefig, etwas honig, erdig, Hopfennoten, die aber weit hinter dem Malz liegen. Ein von vorne bis hinten hefig-malziges und auch schweres Bier. Sehr gut! 13/11/12/12/14/12
