COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A pale, strong, fruity, hoppy Trappist ale from one of Belgium’s six official abbey breweries. Achel 8° is hard to find even in Belgium; in the U.S. it’s up there with the rarest of beers. This blond, flavorful beer is a surprisingly refreshing brew at 8% alcohol by volume. It is lightly filtered, but still wholesomely hazy with yeast remaining and refermenting in the bottle.

UPDATED: JAN 16, 2021 Tanta schiuma a grana medio fine, forte aroma di fiori e frutta, piacevole gusto di malto dolce fruttato e retrogusto poco amaro.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2021 Slightly cloudy pale gold in colour, huge lingering white head. Not much of an aroma - faint malt. Taste, biscuit, dried winter fruits - raisins and prunes, demerera, brandy - very sweet finish, almost syrupy, some spice. Very pleasant blonde beer with an alcoholic kick.

rumore (2599) - Rimini, ITALY - DEC 29, 2020
UPDATED: DEC 29, 2020 33cl bottle from Hopt, France. Poured warm by mistake and therefore put to cold in the fridge. Subsequently pours foamless, loaded gold. Aroma is fruity, honey, peach. Body is average, on the thick side, with moderate carbonation. Quite an alcoholic feeling. Taste is pretty sweet, though with a good balancing bitterness. Final is long and alcoholic.

Beese (11221) - Tooting, London, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 12, 2020
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2020 330ml bottle from We Brought Beer, Tooting. Can’t believe that I haven’t rated this before! Clear deep golden. Nose is not quite as big as most Trappist beers. Nice honey, pale malt, tinned fruit and heather notes. Fairly crisp. Good balance of sweet and malty flavours with yeast esters and spicy hints. Touch of dryness in the finish.

imdownthepub (20521) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - NOV 12, 2020
UPDATED: NOV 12, 2020 Bottled, 300ml from Left Field Beers, Solihull, W.Mids. Orange gold with white head. Another of those beers that you could have sworn that you had tried in the past. Belgian yeasts to the fore, candy pear drops, estery banana notes, touches of spice, gratefully not too heavy on that front. Light vanilla biscuit notes, hints of sweetness, hints of breakfast cereal, corn flakes. It's fine if not the beer I remembered.
