Can with a shit load of pointless hairdresser colour wax on its arse. Undoubtedly intended as an ironic comment on the pointlessness of waxing but just as fucken annoying as the real thing. A light haze on this deep amber - brown beer, small bubbly pale tan head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Smooth semi dry malts, good rich cream and caramel with a spot on rich ripe fruity bourbon barrel. The vanilla addition lightens and sweetens the whole beer and doesn't suck at all but neither does it enhance what is already a very fine bba bw. Nice but ultimately, quite unncessary.

UPDATED: FEB 17, 2023 Very slightly foamy, but with a fantastic aroma of dark dried fruits, brown sugar and dark bread. The taste is very nuanced and offers dark caramel, dark rye bread, figs, dates, raisins, prunes and much more. It's the kind of beer where the first small sips just need to be given time to settle and get used to the taste buds. If you taste really well, you will also find dark chocolate, oak and vanilla together with the aforementioned flavors. The cask aging is clearly felt in the form of a nice but somewhat heavy taste of bourbon. Despite its 13% alcohol, it is not as boozy in taste as you might expect, but the alcohol is still felt. It gives rise to long-term enjoyment and should probably not be enjoyed directly from the fridge as I did. It gains a lot of terrain as it tempers.

UPDATED: DEC 18, 2022 From can (BB 20Jan'24) in tulip. Pours murky mahogany w/cm of tan head that settled quickly into a ring, rich malt-driven aroma & taste: Bourbon, caramel, stewed fruit & vanilla w/light spice in sticky finish. Interesting wax feature on bottom of can: form over function
