This nostalgic beer specialty, which can be confidently ranked among the traditional old Bavarian beers, is brewed in commemoration of the good old times and in honor of the brewery’s founder, Johann Liebhard. The special feature of the “Kellerbier” is the fine yeasty cloudiness and the pleasantly bitter taste. As it is bottled unfiltered, many of the natural protein, yeast and hop elements remain contained in the beer. It consequently retains its original character and the beer connoisseur can appreciate the fullness of taste that this very drinkable beer offers. Furthermore, the vitamin and mineral-rich yeast also provides a significant contribution to the nutritional requirements of good health. 11.8°

A classic German housekeeper. I liked it but I prefer another style. Too soft, little complex, good beer to take on without pretenses and make thirst. A product that does not deceive but is very predictable

Draught at Ayinger Speis & Trank, München, Germany. Cloudy to murky golden, medium white head. Fresh grainy, hayish malt aroma, herbal and grassy hops. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Dry, medium bitterness. Quite wonderful.

Tap at Ayingers Speis und Trank, Munich. Sticky, persistent beer, with some sickly, nutty notes. Pudding. Pretty nice, but suffered in comparison to the excellent Helles in Munich.

Pours hazy golden with a white head that dilapidates quickly. Aroma is hard to describe - somewhere near sour or fermented. A lot of floating particles that will settle on the bottom of the glass. Taste is not very intense. Some grainy flavours. A very subtle bitterness in the palate. I‘m used to better brews by Ayinger.

Contrary to the other reviews, mine did not pour cloudy at all, but a clear pale straw colour, with a small head. It did not smell of much either, so I was expecting the worse. But in fact I really enjoyed it. For a start, it has a taste of its own--an achievement in the samy world of lager-type beers. It is light, sweet, slightly watery, but has a distinctive perfumy, spicy taste to it, which I suspect is from the type of yeast. A shame my limitations as a beer taster mean I can't put a finger on what that taste is--but it's intriguing. The beer also has a sharp taste of honey, as if lemon was added to honey. An interesting beer, which went down well.

on draft at Ayinger, cloudy and yeasty, some banana flavors in there. HIghly drinkable like everything there. Came in a 1 L pour. Very rustic.
