UPDATED: DEC 8, 2019 Huge and thick. Hazy grapefruit. Very dense aroma and flavor. Almost sticky on the tongue. Picked up in Burlington during visit to Winchell with Jess in 2018.

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2019 Two reviews follow. The first from a can given me by my pastor. The can was kept at room temperature which John Kimmich states is unacceptable. The second is from my purchase at the brewery and always kept cold. First Review 2/22/18 3.3 Rating Poured a clear yellow with floating yeast and a white head with lacing. Nose was resin and dank. Taste is tropical fruit with a slightly sweet malt. Body is medium light. Big bitter aftertaste that lingers. 16 oz can Second Review 9/18/19 4.9 Rating This beer was purchased at the brewery on 8/28/19. Jen Kimmich told me it was packaged on 8/26/19. Staying the night in Stowe, the Best Western Hotel stored the 4.5 cases (Don't ask what I spent. I have an understanding wife who does not drink any alcoholic beverage.) in their food refrigerator. Mary, the manager, understood that The Alchemist beers need to be stored cold. Reminds me of what Coors did before going national. Many thanks to Mary and a desk clerk whose name escapes me. The beer pours a slightly hazy yellow with a dense white head that remains thick and laces. The nose is tropical fruit with a little grapefruit and with slight piney resin. Body is light medium. Mouthfeel is well rounded with no crisp notes. Taste is tropical fruit, smooth malt structure with a hint of sweetness with light bitterness in the aftertaste. It has a great balance in common with Heady Topper. Using a word from another of their beers, it is Luscious as the little brother to Heady Topper. Drinking fresh makes a difference. 16 oz can

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2019 I disobeyed the directive and poured into a glass - hazy gold with a thick almost white head with good retention and gobs of sticky lacing. Orange and lemon citrus but also mango and pineapple. Grassy and piney hops, bread, touch of caramel and earth. Medium carb, medium+ body, soft texture. The finish gradually becomes more bitter as it fades. Based on reputation I was expecting this to be more assertive, but the show here is the delicious balance.

UPDATED: NOV 11, 2019 Cloudy orange, creamy white head. Subtle (by modern standards) yet clean and smooth tart tropical fruit, orange, certainly malts (thank you very much). Smooth fruity malty flavour, soft piney / grassy bitterness. Not a mind-blowing trend to eleven beer by modern standards, but a pretty smooth well balanced IPA.

UPDATED: SEP 22, 2019 Can gifted, gracias...not drinking this from the can, pours a medium golden orange..hop particles abound, nose is nice with some fresh cut grass, apricot, mouthfeel has got some spicy spearmint, some booziness, medium bodied, a nice offering, but a bit over hyped imho...

UPDATED: AUG 27, 2019 Cannette. Jaune pas trop hazy, agrumes et résine. Comme une hybride entre une West Coast et une NEIPA. Excellente.

MacNJ (230) - New Jersey, USA - AUG 24, 2019
UPDATED: AUG 24, 2019 Sampled and purchased in cans directly from the source in VT. Simply put, it’s a phenomenal beer. Focusing on the taste, it has a complex flavor: tart/bitter pink grapefruit, pineapple, mango, and earthy, “low rider” combos. Better than Heady (in my humble opinion). Worth the drive to Stowe! Cheers!

HippyHop (1120) - Quebec, CANADA - AUG 23, 2019
UPDATED: AUG 23, 2019 Pint can. Almost-hazy gold with a huge, clean, shiny white cap that lasts forever. Lots of fragrant hops - citrus and peaches, pineapple, some resinous pine and cedar. It's not juicy per se but it's juicier than Heady Topper, and closer to a modern NEIPA. It's also smooth af, with a lingering warm, bitter finish. Very nice.

nickd717 (6002) - San Francisco, California, USA - AUG 11, 2019
UPDATED: AUG 11, 2019 Can pours hazy golden with an incredibly creamy and well retained white head. Aroma is a rich hop bouquet of tangerine, peach, floral, pine, earth. Flavor is a nice crisp biscuit malt base with a complex hop flavor, lending mild sweetness and medium-high bitterness. Medium plus body, smooth feel. Very polished and enjoyable beer. Drinks like an east coast IPA, which is so two generations ago, but does the style about as well as one can.
